Oh my gosh you guys...get ready to laugh so hard you pee a little. Seriously. Amy Wright (aka The Drunk Mom) is truly hilarious and puts a completely different spin on the job of "mom." She is real and she is one of the funniest women I have ever met.
The Drunk Mom is a Facebook page that is filled with videos and hilarious posts created by Amy. She also is building her tribe of awesome mom's who are ready to admit defeat from the tiny sock invasion called The Drunk Mom's Club...you can register on her website at www.thedrunkmom.com. (Amy warns NOT to forget the "the" before drunk...otherwise you might get a big surprise!) And she has a BOOK! Yes! Go buy this book!
And while you will literally will be laughing out loud, Amy isn't just about the comedy. She is about empowering moms to be the kind of mom they want to be. It is about embracing the messy and forgiving yourself. And maybe hiding in the pantry with a box of wine...
A little more background on Amy with her bio--
"First and foremost, I'm a mom and have been my entire freaking adult life. I didn't used to drink at all... and then I had a teenager. It was self medication or the nut house, ya'll. My husband and I have 5 kids in our blended family and yes, we know what causes it so please don't ask or I'll make shit real awkward for you. We live in the Charlotte area of North Carolina, a few hours from the beach (AKA- heaven) and two hours from the mountains. It's awesome. I started my online business in 2009 and tried to fit into a little box of elevator speeches and niches and "5 secrets to blah, blah, blah" for yeeeeeears. And shit just didn't work out for me the way I wanted. I learned assloads about business, especially the online variety, but I got sick of trying to squeeze my ass into that little box. So I gave it the double bird and ripped that box apart, piece by piece. I embraced all of the parts of me that I loved and those that made me happy despite what other people thought. I combined them into this fun fucking place that you're cruisin' right now. It's me... 123%. I also pay the bills as a freelance copywriter over HERE.
And I beg you to go read her "23 Fun Facts About Me" on her website!
Thank you Amy for joining us! Go like her on Facebook, visit her site and buy her book!

Today we are talking the topic of Grief. Jay recently lost his brother and we both felt like it was important to address the grieving process in the "work." Because trust us...you can be a spiritually evolved human but when grief hits it doesn't really matter. You just have to walk through it.
Jay has been walking through it and it is important to acknowledge that journey. It is also important to recognize that grief comes from many different things and can affect us in so many ways. Even years and years later...and you will see with my big AHHHAHHAHAHAAA! moment.
This week we invite you to join us on the Doing the Work Facebook page to talk grief. Are you working through a loss? Are you feeling the continued pain from years ago? We are here and ready to hold space for your journey.

It has been awhile since we have done a coaching call strictly between Jay and I. When we first started the podcast we thought the "real" coaching sessions would make up most of our episodes but over time the topics and interviews with power players have really taken over. So we discussed it and decided it was time to go back to our roots and get some of our actual coaching sessions recorded. And when you listen to today's episode...you will see why.
So...I fell off the horse folks. I stumbled big time and my integrity went out the door. I have been rolling around in the ugly for several weeks and I needed help to get myself back on track. And that is OK! It is normal! I refuse to beat myself up for having a fall. I reached out for help and THAT is the most important part. I knew I couldn't do it on my own. And another reason to acknowledge that this work is never done and having a coach or accountability partner is so vital to keeping focused.
I get pretty real and raw here...which of course is giving me a vulnerability hangover. But, instead of running from it, I want to share it. I know that I am not alone in the issues I am facing. And if sharing my journey helps even one person...I would be incredibly honored.
This week we invite you to join us on the Doing the Work Facebook page to talk your stumbles. Lets check in with each other and see where we are. Don't be afraid to let us know you need help. We are here and we see you.

You know when you meet someone and you just click with their vibe? That was our experience with Erin Verdis. This woman is just awesome. And we are so excited to introduce you to her!
Erin is a Spiritual Life Coach for Women and her work is empowering women across the country. Thank you so much Erin for joining us and for Doing the Work! In this episode we discuss the role of women and how her view has been painted by growing up in the Mohawk Nation culture.
A little more background on Erin with her bio--
My name is Erin Verdis, and I am a spiritual life coach for women. I am originally from Michigan, and moved to New York City upon graduating from High School to pursue a modeling career. For over ten years I worked and lived internationally and in many cities in the states. Although full of gratitude for the opportunities and experiences this career offered me, there was definitely another side that was very competitive, often dark, challenging, and caused a lot of inner conflict for me. I eventually turned to the party scene in NYC and struggled with drugs and alcohol abuse for a while. It was a way to escape that inner conflict I suppose. Fortunately I met someone very special who helped me find a new path, one of personal growth and spirituality. I am Native American, from the Mohawk Nation of the Iroquois Confederacy, and during this time I returned to my cultural roots, our teachings and traditions, to ground me. I also began to study Buddhism and meditation, my life was unfolding and I was awakening, it was such a magical time. As the years past, I knew in my soul that I had gone through what I had so I could share my experiences to guide others along their own journey. I went to college and got my degree in Psychology & Human Development and Native American Studies. I eventually found the world of coaching and knew I had found my purpose and passion! I have led workshops on journal writing and meditation, re-writing your life story, creating a spiritual practice, nutrition, and more. I am currently working on launching my online business. I am super passionate about helping women return to their inherent femininity, learn to trust their intuition, clear out limiting beliefs and old stories, and begin creating a life that is authentic and true to them, from the inside. I am also passionate about sharing some teachings and traditions from my Iroquois heritage. I have two beautiful children, River is 10, and Skylar is 5, they are my reason for everything I do! I am so blessed and grateful for my life journey, all that has led me to this path, and all that awaits me!

Part 2 of 2--Today we are continuing our coaching call with Hannah King! This has SO many great moments that I can't even begin to pull them out. If you haven't listened to Part 1 you will want to do that HERE first!
Hannah approached us about coaching around her relationship with her partner and specifically around sex. This is a topic so many of us struggle with and we hear from our listeners that they are dealing with major issues with their partners. When you want a rich and juicy life you need to have relationships that are rich and juicy. So how do you get there?
Thank you Hannah for your bravery and honesty! We are amazed by your willingness to share.
A production note...we apologize for the strange sounds on this episode...some banging and weird sort of echo sound that occurs frequently. We try to edit out as much background weirdness as possible but unfortunately the sounds on today's episode could not be edited out without messing with the interview and losing a lot of the verbiage. I was close to punting the whole thing but in the end I felt like the coaching call and information provided was way too important for you all to miss. Thank you for your understanding!
A little info about Hannah with her bio--
My name is Hannah, but family has always called me ‘B’, or ‘Hannah B’. I am a brave mama, just like you, discovering my true north and paving my path to a life of my own design. This transforming journey has been enlivened and enriched since becoming a mother. At 23, I met a man while traveling solo through Southeast Asia. We got pregnant a month and a half later. Two months after our daughter was born we had to move 3,000 miles from family and our community so he could provide for us. He was gone 6 long days of every week, while I was home with our daughter. Although it was challenging, I eventually found a good rhythm, but then… I became pregnant again. I had lost myself in motherhood and depression struck me like a slow but powerful wave. Living in pajamas, I was isolated, idle and indifferent. I ached for a tribe and longed for connection; I was suffering, and I knew that something had to shift. It dawned on me that if I was to raise strong, directed, passionate and confident children I had to BE that, not just preach about it to them.
My life had to be different; I had to show up, stand up, speak up and choose the direction of my life. Settling for a life that wasn’t full of joy was over. I had to lose myself in my hunt towards discovering my true north. I had to let go of the woman I was before motherhood. She was gone. She no longer existed. I was forced to redefine who I was and SURRENDER to all that motherhood placed before me so that I could uncover a broader heightened form of self. It opened me up to allow the woman I was called to become to move through to the surface. I rose above all the challenges and began my journey into living my life with directed purpose, bravery, and dedication to standing completely in my power.
From this place of clarity, I uncovered my greater purpose beyond motherhood:
My mission and calling is to guide women back home to their divine, true nature by empowering them to redefine what motherhood looks like and live their life with more joy, passion, and self-love.
This week we invite you to join us on the Doing the Work Facebook page to talk about your relationships and sex life. We know this can be a difficult subject to tackle and are grateful to Hannah for opening up the doors for all of us to communicate with each other and find support.
