One thing you need to know in life, especially as an entrepreneur is you're going to lose money.

Whether you leave it in your jeans pocket and wash it or lose money from a business transaction go wrong, take the lesson in each one of those experiences.

Once I bought into a seed round of a company that is publicly traded.

I spent $100 K but I was thinking it would be huge like FB. They valued it at $3 billion, so I thought once it goes public, the price will shoot through the roof.

I was wrong.

It was only worth 62-cents a share by the time they launched their IPO.

People get upset when they lose money, not realizing they actually paid for the lesson or experience.

My loss has been taken on paper. This was one of the lessons I learned.

The second was learning more about the company's debt and if they're hemorraging money.

These are lessons that allowed me to learn lessons so I could make better investments the next time they came around.

There was a year when I lost $1.5 million in investments with companies I thought were solid.

I asked my wife why God would do this to us.

She simply stated, "Be grateful it was at a million and not 10."

So, when you take risks and make investments, don't sit too long with the failures, but pull the valuable and priceless experiences you got from them that have prepared you for the future.
