Publisher's Summary:
Against their wishes, cousins Jacie "Punkin" Masters, and Hannah "Boo" Roberts, are thrown together for the summer at their grandparents' Ghost Dancer Ranch. What starts as a very boring summer turns dangerous, when they find themselves in the middle of an insidious plot to steal the ranch, and turn it into a casino. By clinging to their faith, and with the help of a guardian angel, and Jack Wilson, a young Native American man who hopes to lead his people back to prosperity and power through the resurrection of the Ghost Dancer Religion, Punkin and Boo overcome all obstacles to solve the mystery, and save the ranch.
In the best tradition of Franklin W. Dixon's Hardy Boy Mysteries, and Carolyn Keene's Nancy Drew Mystery Stories, comes The Adventures of Punkin and Boo, an exciting series of adventure/mystery stories for young children, tweens, and teens - adults will also enjoy them. Featuring Hannah Roberts (Boo), and Jacie Masters (Punkin), these are the adventures of two teenage cousins who meet for the first time on a summer vacation, and fall right into an on-going series of action-packed, "can't-put-em-down" audiobooks that will delight young listeners, and have them asking for more of The Adventures of Punkin and Boo.

Best suited for older children
I was really excited to read this book to my children (ages 4,6,8). I have yet to find a children's book that focuses on Biblical truths. My oldest loves Nancy Drew and I thought this would be a fantastic addition to her collection.
The author had described the age range as 8-18, so I knew it would be a little above my younger children's heads, but figured it could be a fun read aloud anyway. We read one chapter a day at lunch and my oldest children were excited to hear each installment, often begging my to read more. They really liked the introductions of Punkin and Boo.
After only a few days/chapters, however, I realized that the book was headed in a direction that I didn't find appropriate for my young ones or even my 8 year old. Without giving the plot away, I'll just say that the book, while dealing with very real spiritual aspects, was far too intense and scary for young children. My opinion would be the book is more appropriate for 12 and up.
As I continued to read the book on my own, I was disappointed that Punkiin and Boo didn't stay the main focus. I would have loved more about their time together, and think my children would have felt the same.
I loved that the book spoke of the freedom found in Christ and that there was a great emphasis on family and history.
In a few years we'll check back on the series, but for now it is not the right read for my young children.
**I received a free copy of this boon in exchange for an honest review which I have given.
A Great Mystery for Young and Old.
This book is intended for young readers but for adults like me it was a great read and a great mystery. The book is about two girls, Boo and Punkin, who are cousins and had to spend part of the summer at their grandparents place called Ghost Dancer Ranch. While there they discover a secret passage way under the house that leads into tunnels in a cave. The secret passage way was used by Red Bull, a Native American Indian.
