Excellent Action and bad guys story!

This was a great story, I really enjoyed every bit of it.

I liked Lucas and Ashley together, they had some good chemistry and there were a couple of hot and steamy sex scenes, not erotica just steamy.

The story line and plot was great. There was murder, human trafficking, serious bad guys and a bit of mystery. Lots of action with the FBI and BAU trying to catch the bad guys.

A couple characters from the previous books like Alex Parker and Mallory.

As for the narration... Well it's Eric Dove! Which means it was excellent! He is one of the best male narrators ever! Love him. He does the women's voices so well, and he has an amazing reading voice!

Don't pass this one by......

Another addition to the FBI series from an author who knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat! You won't want to put this down until the very end.

This book is the story of Lucas Randall, Ashley Chen and the trafficking of sex slaves. Some of the details are disturbing but need to be. This is a fight every step of the way to find the clues that will lead them to the criminals they both want to put behind bars. Their attraction is immediate and they try to ignore it but it is a losing battle. It's not all roses and some lines will be crossed that could well destroy the fledgling relationship. Lucas & Ashley will have to use every tool at their disposal to fight these near ghosts and to find their own hea. Eric G Dove is amazing as the narrator for this series. I'm looking forward to the next in this series.

What made the experience of listening to Cold Secrets the most enjoyable?

Cold Secrets is the seventh fast-paced romantic suspense book in the Cold Justice series written by one of my favorite authors, Toni Anderson. I received a complimentary audible book for a fair review from the author. Great narration and storyline. I highly recommend it.

Ashley Chen. She is a dedicated and patriotic FBI agent.

This was a great story. I just loved George and Ellie and their story was really good and kept me engaged until the end.

Ellie works in the clothing boutique and lives in a nice condo in Chicago. Ellie grew up with a mentally ill father and after an unsupervised visit she had with him as a child that ended up in a standoff with the police, Ellie didn't have much contact with him. Ellie dated some but hadn't had any luck finding the right guy.

George is a mountain man that works for the local Search & Rescue team as well as doing some construction in the summer when things are slow. George lost his mother when he was a baby and his father when he was a teen and he doesn't have anyone else. He's a loner that's extremely laconic and tends to stick with the bare essentials so much so that he doesn't even have a phone.

Ellie got a call from her father, Baxter, saying that people were after him and that he's going to a cabin in the mountains. Ellie is worried...she's sure his paranoia about someone being after him is just his mental illness but she's worried he could die hiking to the cabin in the snow. She decides to take a couple days off work and go to Colorado to find her father and make sure he's safe. When she gets to town, one of the first people she runs into is Lou and when Lou finds out that Ellie's father is Baxter Price, she's very interested in helping (since book #1 Lou and Callum have been unofficially investigating a local death and it has ties to Baxter Price). Ellie is able to get the coordinates of the cabin her father was going to and (with a bit of trouble because of his anti-social ways) manages to get George to agree to help her track her father in the wilderness.

It's winter in Colorado and the mountains still have plenty of snow so Ellie gets the appropriate clothing for the hike. Thankfully, George has all the other equipment the need and they're able to leave the next morning. Ellie isn't prepared for the stress of the hike but she does alright and follows instructions. As mentioned, George is very laconic and says more with looks than most people say with a sentence. Despite this, Ellie does eventually get him to talk and even smile and laugh as they spend more time together. They both are attracted to each other but their situation makes romantic feelings a bit difficult, especially when they realize that Baxter's fears weren't all in his head and killers are on their trail.

Seemed like a different writer finished this series

This book seemed vastly different from the last two in my opinion. The characters didnt match up with the personalities developed in the first two books. Lastly, the narration was probably the worst Ive ever heard ever. Women faking mens voices...just no...no. Disappointed in the price for the quality of the production.

I'm not happy

This book was a huge let down. Mostly because or the narrator! Her piss poor attempt at a southern accent is close to unbearable. I felt as if I was listening to Gone With the Wind gone bad! It's supposed to be a modern story, but all the characters sound like slaves.

The story itself is off as well, how did Jerry go from fighting in vans, just a story ago, to a feeble old man in this one. The characters dont even seem to have the same personalities, it seems as if it's not the same series.

I LISTENED TO THE FIRST TWO BOOKS AND REALLY LIKED THEM. THIS ONE I COULDN'T GET THROUGH THE NARRATION. HORRIBLE!

I Surrender to this Series

I surrender. I listened to this book non-stop - the high quality narrator made this a great listening experience. The world Lisa Renee Jones builds is so tightly woven with detail that I feel as if I'm in the middle of the action. And I never know what's going to happen next. The suspense and intrigue keeps me listening late into the night. I'm so invested I don't want to stop! And I adore that her different series share characters so there's an immediate connection.

A unique feature is the summary provided at the beginning of each book as a reminder of what happened previously. It gave the book a nice personal touch.

There is not enough words to describe how special and exciting this series has been . This series was the first of Lisa book that I have read. I want more of the gang of The hawk . Ella is a badass of a character.

I hated to have to wait so long between installments of this series, but it was worth it. I love all the characters from the Tall, Dark, and Deadly and Inside Out Series, and loved how many of them were all brought together for this finally. Though books one and two of the Careless Whispers series your not too sure if you like Kaden or not. I can tell you that I absolutely fell in FLove with Kaden in this last book with all his faults. I love the perfect team and partnership he and Ella form. I hope this isn't the last we will see (read/listen) of them. Lisa Renee Jones does an excellent job of weaving all her characters from all her series into one intertwined world. I can't wait for more.

Save This For Last

Wow! Another grab you read

If you could sum up Unexpected Hero in three words, what would they be?

Excellent series beginning. I enjoyed the sexual tension buildup between Jenna and Josh. This book has drama centered on women without making the women pityingly weak creatures. Yes, they are in unfamiliar territory in the woods but they are not weak. It's funny and serious. I love the way the author writes the alpha males. They are flawed but so dependable and HOT.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Unexpected Hero?

I never begin a series unless it's finished. I simply don't have patience to wait months. I read the books. Then I got to listen to this audible version. I want the others made into audible. I would so buy them. I did receive this audible book from the author. I freely give my review. I honestly love the story and this audible version.

What about Samara Naeymis performance did you like?

Narrator was great and only enhanced an already good story.

Loved the dynamics of Jenna and Erika's friendship. Witty, snarky dialogue kept me reading.

Hot woodland guide...

The book started off a bit slow but picked up about 1/3 in...team of NYC architects sent off on a 'team building' week in the mountains. Their guide is the hot & broody type. Some drama with exes then one of the team is murdered. Survivors scuttle in different directions to stay alive. Cliffhanger!!!

Only real complaint is that the narrator didn't have the range in different voices that could pull you into the story. Some voices were annoying as heck! Still looking forward to the next book though.

I love the characters. They are both strong willed sexual smart witty characters. The power pulling them close even as they fought it. I love reading about military men so strong an sexy. They both have had past that has damaged them. I have to admit when the voice came on saying it was ending I yelled NO not yet. I love this author. the narrator was really good too.

Wow! Very Poor Writing.

This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This is the worst example of an Alpha character that I've ever read. It was so corny from the beginning to the very end. Every chapter was predictable.

Has Dangerous Secrets turned you off from other books in this genre?

This book has not turned me off from the genre, but it has definitely turned me off from anything written by this author. I listen to several books a week during my long commute to work and back. I'm just glad I didn't cause an accident by how often I had to roll my eyes at something the hero said.

I always finish a book that I've started, and I have to say that I couldn't wait for it to end. Save your credit or your money and choose another book.

Awesome book

Excitment, danger, romance and intrigue. This book has it all, including the Joker of the family. They are dedicated especially to family and those they consider family. This is a great book.

THESE CHARACTERS OWNED ME.. BODY & SOUL

Running from bad memories and bad press Lucas has found the right job in Payson - it's a small town where nobody will recognize him or put any pressure on him. You see years before there was a family massacre, a lone survivor, a media frenzy, a trial and a young boy was sent to a mental institution. Lucas was that sweet, timid and innocent boy.. but he's still being hounded for sensational stories so now he's happy working construction, living alone and rarely speaking to anyone. Just his job, the mountains, his carvings and the lodge he's been living in while renovating it for his boss - he keeps himself to himself and never socializes with others.. but when he sees the beautiful, sassy and friendly Shyann he's intrigued.

There are no laughs to be had here but it makes up for it with a lot of touching emotional scenes and there's also angst, sex, suspense, drama, a serial killer loose, various douche bags and a beautiful love story. Likeable characters and I'm pleased that JB Salsbury didn't go down the road of trying to fix Lucas but instead only sought for understanding and acceptance for him from those around him and from those who loved him.

GRIPPING

Oh my gawd Alana has got me so, so gripped with the way this SE7EN DEADLY SEALS SERIES, is taking hold. I'm feeling so much for Mia & Grant, what with how much they have missed out for each other, that my heart breaks for them.

But here I started not liking Mitch much but by the end of Mia's confrontational towards him, I really felt for him & started to not, not like him, well started not liking him less.

Now on to CARNAL, book 4

I can't get enough !!!

More revelations and twists in this instalment and I can't wait for the next book!! I love the fast paced narrative and action in these books !! I just wish they were longer! And I just LOVE Grant, he is so deliciously ALPHA!!!!
