Bad Narrator

From completely mispronouncing words to adding the wrong emotion. I have never been so disappointed in a narrator. I really enjoyed the story, however, the narrator took away a lot of the enjoyment.

Reus does it again!

I love Kate Reus's ability to come up with an original story, and once again, she has started a series with a bang. It has to be hard to think of a new plot, but with the dream walking I found this one to be fun and refreshing. Nika and Elena are the least likely suspects to commit murder, but something just isn't right. When Declan Gallagher is called to help see what he can find out, he is hesitant, but agrees to invade the dreams of Nika. Now the real fun begins. While I have had dreams that seem real, in this case, a dream walker is actually there, in your dream. A little freaky, but for Nika, she enjoys the seemingly real dream until she actually meets Declan....and now the story gets really moving. The chemistry between these two character is sizzling, but that is not the only draw for me. I love the story. The Russian crime boss, his son, the parents of Nika and Elena, the mole..there is just so much suspense going on, you really have to pay attention to all the nuance to make figure out the answers are and who is really the culprits!

Veteran narrator Jeffrey Kafer is the narrator for this series. It took me a while to adjust to his style of voicing, not the typical deep sound I am used to, but I think he was a good choice for the type of romantic suspense this is. Not only is the book a romance, but the mystery side of it was portrayed with skill and just the right amount of angst to get the suspense to be at it's height. Going to grab the next in the series,so we can hear where Elena and Alexei end up, a small loose end Reus did not tie up!

I read the book but having it narrated was like being right there in the story. Absolutely loved it.

Tough

I rarely comment on books but this one was such a difficult listen I felt the need to warn others. I love this author... but this book was tough to finish. I make a commitment to finish every book I start I didn't think I could finish! I did. I'm not sure if the story line is that bad or the monologue of the reader was that awful. Mobsters without action in a college setting? A lot of self doubt in the characters as well as stupidity

Fantastic continuation of this series . Even though it's Nixons story you really feel the emotions of Chase

Mafia bosses at their best

Holy moly, the men's POV of Elite. We get Nixon, Chase, Phoenix and Tex's POV, mainly Nixon and Chase though, and it is well worth the wait for me to read book 2, just so I could get into their mindset. Of course it follows the same story, but gives me so much insight into the how's and the why's of the Elite and why they said and did what they did to Tracey. I must say I was not prepared to have my heart broken in two for Nixon, to love Chase and to feel sorry for Phoenix, but I did. I'm still on the fence as to whether I'm team Nixon or team Chase. Fab well written story, I'm hooked.

Deep, Dark, Raw and Emotional

This book (and series) is definitely not for the faint of heart. This story is deep, dark and emotional. It doesn't shy away from mafia issues like human trafficking, drugs, betrayal, and murder. It is extremely descriptive and detailed with characters that are beyond flawed but not beyond redemption. It's a gripping story for those who love raw, suspenseful love stories.

Tracy Marks narrates these books wonderfully. Her accents and clear voice make listening a pleasure.

Note: This book includes descriptive sex scenes, violence, and strong language. This is definitely an Adults Only listen.

Tracy Marks narration never ceases to amaze!!

The fantastic story telling ability of A. Zavarelli and unending talent of Tracy Marks narration make this series a must have. Another out of this world book filled with intense emotional highs and lows. I got so mad at one point I had to pull over in my car!!-that's how much this story grabbed me and never let go until the last word. Talia is one messed up character who goes through so much, and Alexei is one brooding male with a vulnerability that makes him so endearing. Loved!! Go get it- seriously- right now.

Dark Emotional Story

What an emotional roller coaster. I still haven't gotten off the rush of the book yet. I wanted to give it 5 stars, but after all the couple went through the end seemed to just be rushed. It was total turmoil and then BAM it was done. It kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

This is a very graphic dark story. Bad things happen and some of it just seems unbearable at times and down right depressing, but you read on to see what would happen. I was up all night reading even when I knew I had to get up for work. I could not put it down, I had to see what was going to happen.

Talia.... sigh.... why does so much terrible things have to happen to one person. I felt so bad for her and at times I just wanted her put out of her misery wondering what she really had to live for. Alexei at times was so cruel to her I couldn't comprehend why he was so cruel. He could never really give her want she needed and that was love unconditional love. The author was so talented that when he told her he could never love her, I felt that emotion from her and I just wanted to throw up because of the disappointment and anguish expressed. I know Alexei's issues are the cause of it, but it just was down right cruel.

Bad narration. Pretty good story.

The narrator's intonations were mostly off. She would sound mad when the text didn't call for that. Her Ausie accent was awful; too English.

The story was good, except for the character Nancy, who's dignity was not intact when it came to letting Keith in way too quickly after what he'd done.

Nice plot!

Nothing like a good old fashion whodunit with a love story thrown in for good measure! Interesting plot twist at the end.

The second book in the series is Awesome!! It keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who killed Josephine Lazarow. And then ends with a cliff hanger....until we meet with Keith Lazarow from Fairham Island. Can't wait for book 3!

What made the experience of listening to Twilight at Blueberry Barrens the most enjoyable?

I always enjoy reading series books because once I have invested time into the characters, I hate to have the story end. This was a nice series and I enjoyed all the characters.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

By the third book I was able to predict how it would end. I had suspected who the bad guy was, but the why took me by surprise.

What does Devon O'Day bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

I like the inflection of the voice.

great christian book

many things just don't add up as to why his brother is dead...and he is left with his brother's two little girls to raise. it is God who brings them though many harrowing events...and there is a sweet clean romance to end the book. all in all it is God who brings them though these dangers even when their lives seem to be over....they stare death directly in the face. I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!

This title delivers more than just suspense, with an interesting enemies- to-lovers romantic plot that takes up equal, or near equal, time in its development as the suspense angle. Additionally, for the audiobook lovers, the narration by the talented Nicol Zanzarella makes this a good romantic suspense title to enjoy in audiobook format.

Isabel Dawson is determined to uncover the true reason why her older brother Vin died. His death has been ruled a training accident, as he was employed by a paramilitary organization named Raptor and was on their training compound in Alaska when he died. However, she is convinced that Vins death was no accident it was murder. This is the second book in the series & both heroes are complete jerks. The hero of this book slightly less so, but not by much. Why would the women fall in love with them? Chemistry only explains so much.

Fabulous listen!

I will be getting all of this series. I could not stop listening once I started. It was an edge of your seat story with great narration. Perfect suspense and romance combo.

A Homerun For Rachel Grant!

This novel in the Evidence series has it all. The story is filled with suspense, intrigue, heart racing action, and even a solid love story. You can't go wrong with this one!

Fantastic Romantic Suspense

I was curious at the premise of a American being convicted for crimes in North Korea. I assumed that it would have political intrigue, drama and suspense. This book delivers - in spades. It is a wonderful balance of tight, tension-filled action and hot romance.

The story: The former Vice President is in a lot of trouble. He has been indicted for influence peddling and is being prosecuted by the star of the US Attorney General's office, Curt Dominik. Curt Dominik is also the special envoy sent to North Korea at the request of the government to pick up Dr. Mara Garrett after being accused of being a spy.
