    Kept Me Interested
Would you listen to Snake Skin again? Why?
Not likely because I rarely ever listen to a book again. Only Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series have I done that.
What did you like best about this story?
That Lucy screwed up and made bad choices like the rest of us but was still a great heroine.
Have you listened to any of Lauren Roths other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have no idea if I've heard her before but I liked her narration
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Somewhat. It kept me interested. The personal versus professional obligations made an interesting addition to the mystery and adventure.
    Solid cop thriller
I enjoyed having a vulnerable but strong female protagonist, there aren't enough of those in this genre. It is a well-written story with fun twists and turns. The narrator could have put a little more energy into the general narration, and there are multiple mispronunciations of words. But overall she was easy to listen to, and did a good job. I'm looking forward to listening to the next book in the series
    Not a Complete Narration
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
At Chapter 7 the narration stopped and received a message stating I could continue the book by reading it. Well that's OK but I paid for a full narration.
Would you be willing to try another book from C. J. Lyons? Why or why not?
    Yes
How did the narrator detract from the book?
    Wouldn't know
    New author for mek
I used ti be an avid reader but then got sick. Its harder for me to concentrate due to my meds as they make me sleepy. This is only the 2nd book I have read in about 7 months where as before it was about a book every 2 weeks. Having said that this book held my interest. Between dr visits and falling asleep it was intetesting enough for me to carry around my tablet to listen to it. The protaganist is a women who doesn't always follow protocols and seems to wear her heart on her sleeve. The author brought in enough of the family to make it interesting but didn't ram them down my throat. I think it was a pretty decent book 1 and I wil be interested in continuing on with the series.
Was looking for a new series, this is NOT it.
    Any additional comments?
Not interesting enough. I found her character kind of boring and the excitement/mystery aspect lacking-no surprises here.

    Publisher's Summary:
Thomas Kilbride is a map-obsessed schizophrenic so affected that he rarely leaves the self-imposed bastion of his bedroom. But with a computer program called Whirl360.com, he travels the world while never so much as stepping out the door. He pores over and memorizes the streets of the world. He examines every address, as well as the people who are frozen in time on his computer screen. Then he sees something that anyone else might have stumbled upon - but has not - in a street view of downtown New York City: an image in a window. An image that looks like a woman being murdered.
Thomas's brother, Ray, takes care of him, cooking for him, dealing with the outside world on his behalf, and listening to his intricate and increasingly paranoid theories. When Thomas tells Ray what he has seen, Ray humors him with a half-hearted investigation. But Ray soon realizes he and his brother have stumbled onto a deadly conspiracy. And now they are in the crosshairs.

A Map-Obsessed Schizophrenic Trusts His Eyes
I really enjoyed and loved this story. Very well written and narrated. This is the most interesting and attention-holding novel that I've listen to in a very very long time. If you like mysteries/thrillers which you don't' have to think too much and is easy to follow , then I would highly recommend this one.
I've read two of Linwood Barclay's other books and I love the way his stories hit the ground running and hooks the listener into the story right from the very beginning. The Publisher's Summary for this one is very good, but the complexity of the story cannot be adequately summarized without giving too much away. There are good plot twists right up to the very last chapter. The whole multifaceted story is managed very well by author Linwood Barclay, as he moves effortlessly from one part of the storyline to another, and he dovetails the various interrelated parts into a whole with a "didn't see it coming" ending.
I loved, loved, loved this one. My next listen has a huge mountain to climb in order to top this one. The two narrators were good. It was not overly performed in any way, just enough to add to the enjoyment.
    Very highly recommend.....
Trust Your Eyes is a great book -- trust me!
STORY (mystery) - I really loved this book. Thomas, a schizophrenic who spends his time memorizing maps on an ap called World360, thinks he sees the frozen image of a woman being suffocated in the window of a New York hi-rise. He and his brother, Ray, investigate. There's so much that happens in this story and so many unexpected surprises that I can't possibly give it justice in this review. Aside from the image of the woman with the plastic bag over her head, there are a couple other mysteries which are equally exciting as they unravel. The plot is complicated but not hard to follow, so you don't have to wear a thinking cap to enjoy it. Also, the author manages to inject a bit of humor occasionally. Great stuff!
PERFORMANCE - Good job, but I reserve five stars for stellar multi-voice performances. This reader does a great old woman's voice.
OVERALL - Highly recommended for all mature listeners. There's some profanity and references to sexual acts and lesbianism, though there are no actual sex "scenes" in the book.

Its Like Returning to Old Friends
I always enjoy the Bishop Special Crimes Unit novels; or before the Special Crimes Unit, the Bishop FBI stories. Like fine wine they only improve with age. If you like this genre, they are never disappointing.
    Fun story.
If you could sum up Haven in three words, what would they be?
    An entertaining reading.

    Keeps you guessing.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this to people who like stories about police trying to solve a crime. Has the right amount of action for males, and enough story for those who believe a book should have a plot.
What about Simon Prebbles performance did you like?
I really enjoy Simon Prebble's performance of this book. In fact, I often look up the books of which he is the narrator, just to listen to his performance.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Neither laugh nor cry, but I enjoyed it.
    Not the Best in Series
While I enjoy the Peter Diamond series in general, I didn't care for the side story of the blog writer. I think it was more fun to write than to read. Peter Diamond as curmudgeon is especially strong in this one.
    Not worth it

have no idea who would like this book
Has Cop to Corpse turned you off from other books in this genre?
yes don't think I will ever purchase another with Peter Diamond

Could not understand half of what they said

    Thorne worth reading
DI Thorne is not an unusual character for British crime fiction but he is enjoyable. I got caught up with the BBC televised mini series and then latched onto the books. Both are time well spent.
    Great Read
Enjoyed the continuing story of DI Tom Thorne. Too much time has past since the last Thorne novel. I hope a the next novel doesn't leap ahead too much.
    Fair, worth the credit
I really enjoyed the story and as with most of this genre (My favorite type of audible books) it was only slightly predictable. I did not agree with the one star rating. It is as good and as bad as most others in genre, escape listening with no lingering impression.

    Great book as usual.
I love Death on Demand mysteries. I read as soon as they come out. So glad they are on audible. Kate Reading is a good narrator. Always a surprise at the end.
    well done
I like the well developed characters even Laurel is being handled a bit better.
she might want to consider taking the Darlings to a new mystery. maybe a mystery convention without her running it, just as a seller.
    Search and Search and Search
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It was a good story, so yes. Not as wordy as some of the other Death On Demand stories. Less empty description of characters details.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Actually yes I did want to keep listening until the wee hours of the morning.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
So much better. Not sure that I actually disliked anything.

But even the confession of a disturbed kid with cold "killer eyes" cannot soothe Decker's inner torment. For he knows in his gut this crime goes much deeper and higher than anyone expects - and that true justice, brutal and complete, has yet to be done.
    Members Reviews:
Great Story but Not Typical of the Series
If you enjoy this series mostly because of the wonderful Rina Lazarus Decker and her children and/or because of the fascinating peeks into the world of ultraorthodox (Torah) Judaism, skip this one. Rina is barely in this book, her sons are totally absent, and daughter Hannah is still a toddler. What limited religious discussion there is centers on Roman Catholic Guilt.
In "Justice," family life and religion take a (very) back seat to, in plain words, explicit and perverse but nonetheless erotic sex, and to the introduction of two new characters who (fortunately, in my opinion) will show up in several later entries in this series.
Large segments of the book are narrated in the first person by 16-year-old Theresa McLaughlin, a precociously intelligent and immensely beautiful senior at a Valley high school whose family life is barren and dysfunctional. She recounts her relationship and sexual awakening with Christopher Whitman, an equally beautiful senior at the same high school, but older and mysteriously independent. He is also a musical prodigy (classical cello) and the adopted son of a Mafioso who has brought him up to be a stone-cold killer. His childhood makes Terry's family miseries look like a day at the beach.
I've liked most of the Decker/Lazarus books, and find "Justice" to be one of the most engrossing and interesting. Murder doesn't happen until 2/3 of the way in, but when it does, it's a gripping and baffling case that takes a lot of unexpected twists. There is no doubt that Terry and, most especially, Chris are compelling characters; not surprising that Faye Kellerman will bring them back in later books. Yay!
Now the bad news. Mitch Greenberg, who narrates most of the books in this series, is a straightforward "cop procedural" narrator who does a good job with Detective Peter Decker and has accomplished a more than acceptable characterization of Rina. He also does a good job as Chris. But he is *totally* out of his element when he takes on the first-person narrations by Theresa. She whines like an immature Valley Girl, when in fact the character is mature beyond her years and the musically gifted Chris first notices her because of her resonant and lovely speaking voice. Oops. With at least a third of the book (and all the erotic scenes) narrated this way, it is a shame the publisher could not have sprung for a really good female reader for the role of Terry.
    Loved this book
This is the first book I've read of Faye Kellerman's and has got me hooked on the characters of Chris and Terry. These two are drawn to each other from the start of the book, and just grows into a turmoil of emotions from both sides. She's good to the core, and he's rotten to the core (almost), but you can't help not liking him.

When a local reporter covering the story ends up dead as well, with the convict already behind bars, suspicion falls on David Hawkins, father of the first victim. But Hawkins is nowhere to be found, not even among the protective Amish colony that had taken him in as one of its own regardless of his shadowy past.
Following on the critical and popular success of his first book, mystery writer P. L. Gaus again brings us a moral and legal conundrum as Professor Michael Branden, Sheriff Bruce Robertson, and Pastor Cal Troyer set out to uncover the truth that seems so elusive in their otherwise quiet corner of the world. Along the way, Gaus paints a unique portrait of the relationship between the Amish and the "English" cultures as seen from the inside. Against this backdrop, Broken English> is a tale of honor, deception, and revenge, where circumstances and the search for justice test the mettle of the closest of friends and reveal the desperate measures of the strongest of foes.
