    Leviathan: A Classic Journey!
This exhilarating re-imagining of the Jules Verne and Alexandre Dumas classics, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and The Count of Monte Cristo, will keep you glued to your head phones. It is a fast paced and entertaining story spanning 150 years and culminating with an Event team underground and underwater nuclear face-off. David Golemon has hit one out of the park! And Richard Poe does not miss a beat with his performance. I highly recommend this. Just one small word of caution: It helps if you have read at least one of the previous books in the series to know some of the characters back stories. I would recommend Event, the first in the Event Group Thriller Series. Enjoy.
    Silly
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Not sure who might like it, but it was a definite disappointment for me. Does not measure up to prior stories in this series.
Has Leviathan turned you off from other books in this genre?
    No.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Narration was fine, but could not overcome the storyline.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Leviathan?
This may be harsh, but as an editor I would not have submitted this for publication.
    Any additional comments?
This is probably others' cup of tea, Just not for me. Too far out.
    great story
I cannot get enough of this event group thrillers. keep them coming!!!i love them all so far.
    Another good book
Like most of the Event Group books, I really enjoyed the look into the author's depiction of historical works, such as the Count of Monte Cristo, and Fictional characters like Nemo. The book was action packed and the depiction of the "Bad Guys" was interesting. Plus there was a pretty solid plug for conservation efforts throughout which I agreed with. My only real issue with the book is the way the characters flat out dismiss some of the aspects as, "impossible" "mythical" or "Insane". This is a group of people that have seen actual alien life forms, and what is basically an amphibious swamp monster and other unbelievable things, and every one there is completely closed to what's happening. If I had seen what they had seen and someone told me that big foot had a plan for world domination, I might not believe it, but I'd at least let the guy try and prove it. Even the guy in charge of the Crypto-biology division just flat out rejects the idea of a life form out of hand. I mean, that's literally his job. Although this aspect didn't have a huge part to play in the plot, and the rest of the book was really quite good, it was something that bugged me whenever it came up.
    Modern Captain Nemo.
The retelling of 20,000 leagues with a modern twist. This is the fourth of the event group books and the over arching plot is helping evolve the characters.

    Publisher's Summary:
To atone for the sins he committed serving his country, ex-covert government agent Paul Janson is determined to save the world: one person, one mission, one redemption at a time.
    The Janson Option
Paul Janson - a former Consular Ops legend known as "The Machine" for his deadly speed and accuracy - has a new mission. Sickened by the "sanctioned serial killings" ordered by the state department, Janson has left covert operations and is now a private security consultant. In partnership with deadly sharpshooter Jessica Kincaid, he only takes assignments that he believes will lead to the greater good.
When American Synergy Corporation oil executive Kingsman Helms begs Janson to rescue his wife, Allegra, from Somali pirates, Janson and Kincaid view it as the perfect opportunity to infiltrate ASC and disrupt the company's scheme to subvert independent oil-rich African countries into wholly-owned ASC subsidiaries.
Once on the ground, Janson and Kincaid discover that the pirates may be the least lethal threat in the violent chaos of anarchic Somalia. Is Allegra's kidnapping for real? Or is she merely a pawn in her husband's machinations for control of the country? Janson and Kincaid quickly find themselves embroiled in a bewildering storm of plots and counterplots, and their fight to survive threatens to disrupt the entire region, and beyond....
    Members Reviews:
    action, great research, hot relationship.
the action was fast paced and realistic enough for a fun action book. The research in detail about Somalia the yachts and arms always add to the interest and drawing you into the book.
    The Janson Option
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Yes, but not this audio version. Paul Garrison does a decent job, though not up to Ludlum's stories.
What did you like best about this story?
    The plot kept me interested.
How could the performance have been better?
I did not like the narrator, and it's hard to judge the book separate from this. He read in a clipped and rapid style which required me to really focus to hear and follow it all. He did not give the characters the warmth and interest that would let me build a connection with them - that may have been a fault of the author, but I suspect it's more the performance.
Was Robert Ludlum's The Janson Option worth the listening time?
Yes, I listen while I run and I run daily, so I was happy to give it the time.
Almost a home run. Sub Zero punch line.
What did you like best about Robert Ludlum's The Janson Option? What did you like least?
The story started out good. Interesting to see how corrupt the oil companies are as usual. I did become a bit upset when our hero became politically correct and would not use his weapon if there was a chance an innocent person might get hurt.
Do you think Robert Ludlum's The Janson Option needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Maybe next time he will go for it and not get so soft when he has to fulfill his mission.

Enjoyed the storyline. I like the voice of the narrator. Good book for every age.
    great listen... couldn't stop!
Great for night, day or anytime!
wish the episodes were longer in length but overall absolutely great!!!
    Wish there was more
I am loving this story, it's narration is amazing and the suspense, plot, and story line are great. what I don't like is that the book only has 9 chapters, then you have to buy another episode, first I've ever hear of, buying a book in chapters. seems like a scheme to get more money that way. it's to bad I really like the story, I don't think I can afford to read the whole series.

    Members Reviews:
    Wonderful audiobook
I really love all of Ms. Brooks Bluegrass novels and Eric G. Dove is a wonderful narrator. A true joy.
And finally...the last of the Davies brothers!
Cy is finally ready to return to Keeneston but things, as always, don't go according to plan. Including having to rescue Gemma Perry and bring her with him. A fabulous story to listen to. Great pace and full of suspense.
    Cy is home!
Would you consider the audio edition of Secrets Collide to be better than the print version?
There is nothing wrong with print - I just prefer audio books
What was one of the most memorable moments of Secrets Collide?
When we find out what Cy did as a cover.
What about Eric G. Doves performance did you like?
I like Eric G. Dove's voice and narration this whole series. He brings the characters to life. He is actually fast becoming a favorite.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Cy's struggle within himself after playing characters for so long.
    Any additional comments?
I was so excited to get to Cy's story and have looked forward to listening to this book. Although I had a pretty good idea of what he was doing, there are still a few surprises. Because he has been such a mystery in the other books, I enjoyed learning more about Cy and his personality and of course that Davie's charm.
    And the last hero falls
I knew I was right to look forward to Cy's story! It was what I had hoped for, funny at times, intense for good and bad reasons, a few misunderstandings and a little sad bit in the graveyard- get your copy and see if you agree!
Eric G Dove is still fabulous!
    Kathleen Brooks does it again.
Kathleen Brooks does it again, it was great being back in the Bluegrass Family again. When you start reading the bluegrass books, it's like a giant hug!!!
Cy is the only single Davies man left now, still living away from his family but hoping to return soon.
Gemma is a twin and has had the worst week of her life. She works for a gossip magazine whilst her twin is an journalist. So different but not really!! Gia Gemma's twin is missing!!
With their lives in danger, will Gemma and Cy be able to discover themselves and true love?
I would recommend this series, it's fantastic.

    Publisher's Summary:
Even for an average citizen, a love triangle is dangerous business. For assassin John Rainn - "one of the most compelling lead characters in the genre" (USA Today) it's going to be downright deadly.
When Rain learns that his former lover, Midori, has been raising their child in New York, Rain senses a chance for reconciliation, perhaps even for redemption. But Midori and the child are being watched by Rain's enemies, and Rain's sudden appearance puts them in terrible danger. To save them, Rain is forced to use the same deadly talents he had been hoping to leave behind. With the help of Tatsu, his one-time nemesis in the Japanese FBI; and Dox, the former Marine sniper whose good ol' boy persona masks a killer as deadly as Rain himself, Rain races against time to bring his enemies into the open and eliminate them forever. But to finish the job, he'll need one more ally: Mossad operative Delilah, a woman for whom Rain's hopes with Midori represent an altogether different kind of threat....
    Members Reviews:
    Superb Book!
In 2012 and 2013 Barry Eisler republished the first six novels in his John Rain series with new titles. Extermis, John Rain Book 5, was originally titled The Last Assassin.
Extremis is one of Eisler's best novels and is a auperb action thriller. It is filled with action and suspense. It also shows more than any other book in the series the humanity and the emotional side of John Rain. I love this book and recommend it without qualification. Earlier books in the series provide some helpful background on Rain, Dox, Madori, Dalilah, ,and other characters, but Extremis provides sufficient background that reading the earlier books in the series is unnecessary.
When Eisler retitled the books, he also changed the narrator of the audiobooks to himself, an excellent improvement.
Eisler is a big name author of thrillers. He and other authors including J. A. (Joe) Konrath were leaders in the movement toward self publishing. All lovers of reading owe them a debt of gratitude for reducing the cost of books at retail. Previously unknown authors who could not get published, such as the superb British author Mark Dawson, owe them an even larger debt. Thank you Barry!
    Love The Angst in Rain
If you could sum up Extremis in three words, what would they be?
    Exciting, compelling, and sad.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Extremis?
When John returns to New York to save Midori only to be confronted at the airport by two thugs. Hope did they know? He disposes of them only to be turhed away by Midori. When he realizes what has happened to,his carefully constructed but impossible dream, it is sad. Then he returns to find his friend dying. The ending gives hope though.
    Which scene was your favorite?
The one where it dawns on him that there is life and it is up to him to find it. Dox and Delilah are waiting.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Assassins are human. Check Out Rains.
    Any additional comments?
    I love Barry Eisler's narration.
Every book BARRY writes is Excellent!
Barry is superb. His stories are involved and interesting. I love reading books where I learn something. He intertwines real life events and gives you a real flavor of the country and people.

    Publisher's Summary:
Evolution is about to be kicked in the teeth by some very large feet.
It started with a few missing hikers, a not uncommon occurrence for the remote town of Bonanza Creek. Now it's about to get a lot worse. The legendary creatures known as Sasquatch are emerging from the woods, and they're hell-bent on slaughtering everything in their path. The only ones standing in their way are a group of wayward campers, a few scared survivors, and the crew of a cable TV show.
However, one of them has a secret and it might just be enough to turn the tide. It's tons of muscle and fury versus a whole lot of bullets in a battle to determine once and for all: who is the hunter and who is the hunted.
    Members Reviews:
    Couldn't stand the narrator
Narrator was so bad I stopped within a chapter or two. Picked up the book in print, and loved it. Not my normal kind of book, but the author is so good I had to give it a shot. Definitely glad I did.
    LOL
Oh man, the way the author wrote the "Indian dude" had me wondering if his girl left him for a hot looking Indian.LOL I'm sorry but that character seemed like it was written by a jealous white teen boy.LOL
The story was ok. Almost everyone dies, of course they do, nothing new there for this type of story. The author even added a ton of new characters for the sole purpose of being killed.
The beginning was interesting but the further along you get, nothing really jumps out as unique or intriguing. Follows the same formula as most stories in this genre all the way down to the over expletive sexual detail oriented description of hot women body parts
Overall, the story was just mediocre in its entertainment value for me.
The narrator did a good job but I think the story may have been a bit better had his voice reflected the action that was taking place through out the story. But honestly, I'm already looking to see what other books he's narrated. I appreciated his performance, not for all the characters but every diamond has a flaw.
    Cujo on Steroids
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this one. Its a classic set up for a nightmare, slasher type story. A group of young adults trekking off into the woods where you would expect them to meet with psychopath in the deep woods...and they do, just not The Crazy you may be expecting.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Danni, She is smart and strong.... making for a pretty good heroine.
What does Charlie Romanelli bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
His "psycho voice" is really creepy. I loved those parts.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The graphic kills could be intense.
    Disappointed
I saw this and thought it would be an offshoot if the Bill the Vampire series. Its not. :-( The story is probably good just not good for me. No humor. No link to the story I enjoy. Overall disappointing. Wish it had been made clear that this story was a completely different genre.
Love every other book by this author
But not this one. The story unlike his others has no central focus. If this is a book to expand his universe I wish it was done a bit different but as I have never written a book I don't won't to be overly harsh. It just compared to Mr.Gualtieri other works it lack luster.

    Publisher's Summary:
An intriguing thriller from a former NPR correspondent about a young reporter who must match wits with spies, assassins and a terrorist sleeper cell targeting the very heart of American power.
"If, on an early summers night, you wanted to kill a man, how would you do it? Would you lay a trap, sharpen a dagger, uncork a poison? Personally, Ive always leaned toward the dramatic. But looking back, I wonder now if the events of last summer didnt begin with a quieter sort of murder."
So ponders Alexandra James, a beautiful, driven, yet troubled New England Chronicle reporter. She is assigned to cover the death of Thom Carlyle, son of one of the most powerful men in Washington. Just back from a year abroad, Thom falls from the top of a Harvard bell tower on a warm summer night. Did he jump, or was he pushed? For Alex James, who can get in anywhere, sleep with anyone, out-drink and out-shop her demons, it is the story of a lifetime. As she chases leads from Harvard Yard to the courtyards of Cambridge, England, to a clandestine rendezvous in London, to the inside of a nuclear terrorist network...the intrigue seems to suit her. But nothing is what it seems. When she arrives back in Washington, DC, for a key interview that promises to tie together the leads she has puzzled out, Alex the hunter becomes Alex the hunted. An assassin is dispatched.... Her laptop disappears.... Her phone is tapped.... And she begins to grasp that Thom Carlyle may have been killed to hide a terrifying conspiracy within the White House itself.
Former NPR Intelligence correspondent Mary Louise Kelly has turned her own real-life reporting adventures into fiction with this stylish spy thriller.

    Fun mystery/thriller
    Any additional comments?
When a Harvard Alumni, Tom Carlisle, falls from the bell tower, everyone assumes it was suicide. Alexandra James, however, thinks differently. Called to investigate the scene as a reporter, the clues dont add up and Alexs instinct says its murder. As she digs deeper, she discovers that Tom had a whole different life this past summer in England: a girlfriend who was cheating on him, a terrorist friend, and a mysterious set of circumstances. This high-society case could be Alexs ticket to getting noticed, but not without a lot of danger. With all the clues adding up to a possible terrorist plot and MI6 and the CIA after her, things are definitely not what they seem. When more and more people start showing up dead, including the lady Alex switched places with on a plane ride, things do not look good for Alex. Will Alex get the scoop shes always dreamed of or will the killer get his way?
Narrator, Therese Plummer expertly brings to life the characters and story of this book. Here unique voices and intonations smoothly guide the reader through the many plot twists and turns as well as keep them engaged and engrossed. The plot is well-developed and the characters are multi-dimensional. Although the story is a little slower-paced in the beginning, listeners will have a hard time putting this audiobook down. Recommended for fans of spies, mystery, and thrillers.
    Mesmerizing thriller, excellent reader
This thriller is so mesmerizing that you will invent boring chores just to rationalize listening to it in one day.

    Publisher's Summary:
Wisecracking reporter Dixie Flynn thinks fast and talks even faster - it's the only way to survive the San Francisco crime beat. When she's assigned to look into the death of her former lover, artist Diego Chino, Dixie's instincts tell her there's more behind the apparent suicide than the police are letting on. Dixie's canvassing of the Bay Area art district reveals it to be a perfect picture of corruption, with a handsome art dealer and a reclusive patron in the foreground. After a romantic evening in Chinatown ends in a brush with death, Dixie is more determined than ever to expose the truth. But when a fire in her vicinity turns out to be more than just performance art, it's clear the perpetrators would rather see Dixie dead than let her destroy their criminal masterpiece.
    Editorial Reviews:
In the first installment of M. C. Grant's Dixie Flynn Mystery series, a wisecracking San Francisco reporter assigned to the city's crime beat is investigating the death of a former lover. Though ruled a suicide, Dixie has her doubts, and as she gets closer to the truth, the more life-threatening it becomes for her. Amy Rubinate's performance is impressively multifaceted; she gives Dixie a streetwise sturdiness while making the police gruff and ineffectual, and turns the San Francisco art world into a seamy cesspool of dangerous lowlifes. Rubinate provides depth to the already colorful world in Angel with a Bullet.

    Publisher's Summary:
An extraordinary cutting-edge suspense novel from the master of international intrigue and number-one New York Times best-selling author.
In Virginia, there is an agency bearing the bland name of Technical Operations Support Activity, or TOSA. Its one mission is to track, find, and kill those so dangerous to the United States that they are on a short document known as the Kill List. TOSA actually exists. So does the Kill List.
Added to it is a new name: a terrorist of frightening effectiveness called the Preacher, who radicalizes young Muslims abroad to carry out assassinations. Unfortunately for him, one of the kills is a retired Marine general, whose son is TOSA's top hunter of men. He has spent the last six years at his job. He knows nothing about his target's name, face, or location. He realizes his search will take him to places where few could survive. But the Preacher has made it personal now. The hunt is on.
    Members Reviews:
    Good, But Not Forsyth's Best
First of all let me say that I've read all but one or two of Forsyth's fictional works. Compared with all of his previous novels, I'd say this is one of the weaker ones. At times, I almost wondered if was reading an abridged version, as the character development seemed far less than most of Forsyth's other novels.
As is the case with all of his works, you learn a lot about the subject at hand, which in this case is terrorism.
The story in and of itself is not bad, but the twists and turns are not as surprising or clever as in other works like Day of the Jackal, The Fourth Protocol or Avenger. Nor is the story as well told.
I would also question whether George Guidall was the best choice as a narrator for this story. I think he is a very gifted narrator and have enjoyed numerous books that he has read, however this type of book doesn't really fit Guidall, in my opinion. I'm not sure if it's his age or his voice quality, but his voice and delivery doesn't really add to the suspense of the story. And I say this as one who very seldom quibbles with a narrator. Often times I'm puzzled by the number of people who don't like a narrator, but in this case, I just don't think George fits well.
All in all, if you are a fan of Forsyth and want to read all of his works, I'd go ahead and get a copy. If you are new to Forsyth, I'd skip this one (and The Dogs of War) and pick up one of his best novels, such as "The Day of the Jackal", "The Fourth Protocol", "Avenger", "The Veteran" or "The Cobra". He is really one of the best writers in this genre and one of my very favorite authors, I just don't think this is Forsyth at his best.
    Where's The Fire?
Just finished this... panting,... wait let me catch my breath. I felt like I was chasing the characters all the time. It just moved from one action scene to another at breakneck speed. I liked the plot. I liked the characters from what I got to know of them. I wish this author had taken the time to develope some of the characters and relationships in a deeper fashion. At times it seemed as if Mr Guidall himself was having a hard time keeping the thing from running off the track. All in all I think you will like the book if you just want a fast mover.
Forsyth reminds why he is a Master
    Any additional comments?
It's been a while since the last novel by Frederick Forsyth.

Can you commit the perfect crime?
Pilgrim is the code name for a man who doesn't exist. The adopted son of a wealthy American family, he once headed up a secret espionage unit for US intelligence. Before he disappeared into anonymous retirement, he wrote the definitive book on forensic criminal investigation. But that book will come back to haunt him. It will help NYPD detective Ben Bradley track him down. And it will take him to a run-down New York hotel room where the body of a woman is found facedown in a bath of acid, her features erased, her teeth missing, her fingerprints gone. It is a textbook murder - and Pilgrim wrote the book.
What begins as an unusual and challenging investigation will become a terrifying race against time to save America from oblivion. Pilgrim will have to make a journey from a public beheading in Mecca to a deserted ruin on the Turkish coast via a Nazi death camp in Alsace and the barren wilderness of the Hindu Kush in search of the faceless man who would commit an appalling act of mass murder in the name of his god.
This is now the entire audiobook, not in two parts.

Where is the rest of the story
What disappointed you about I Am Pilgrim, Volume 1?
I feel defrauded. Half a story, and I can't even buy the second half.
I have to go and buy the paperback version now.
How could the performance have been better?
Give us the WHOLE book. I'm happy to pay for it, but it's not even available.
Hoe can you release half a book?
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Loving the story, Disappointed in Audible
    Any additional comments?
Warn purchasers that it is only half of the story, and the other half isn't available
Why is it not the whole book?
What disappointed you about I Am Pilgrim, Volume 1?
Why I was not told it was just half the book, where is the volume 2?
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plot was fantastic, but very sad it stopped when it did. I would like to know when volume 2 is available so I can write the review it deserves.
Have you listened to any of Christopher Raglands other performances before? How does this one compare?
I don't tend to remember the narrators names, but will keep an ear out for Christopher
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from I Am Pilgrim, Volume 1?
None, I would just like to listen to volume 2.
    Any additional comments?
I would like to know when volume 2 is available and why it has been chopped in half? without revealing this to very loyal customers. I feel a little pissed off as I am very keen to know what happens. He is an Australian author so not quite understanding why it is not all available.
    WHERE IS VOLUME 2?
Audible should make the buyer aware that only half the book is available to download before they download the first half. Who reads half a book? Its available on the uk site. What, are we expected to sign up there and pay them too? Shoddy service audible!
    Gripping storyline
Listened to this book over one wet weekend. Once I started listening, I found it impossible to put down.
    Riveting
What an amazing book. Riveting from page 1. Made me cry, made me laugh, made my heart race. Didn't want it to end.
