Her little secret, his his hidden heir first time Mss. Betts reader
It's a nice story. At the end love prevail. And his family was important even behind his mother feelings. Only thing that initial love scene, didn't agree with it but at the end her strong will and determination prevail. Women when there be come mother they have another perspective of life for them and their child there are taking care and she showed it in the story.
    MONSTER!
Misunderstanding and mishaps..When couples love each other leave it to the MONSTER(mother in law). Love finds away..When Marc's meeting in a small-town brings him face to face with the one women he had ever love..he knows there is a story ...and he is drawn back.Vanessa thought she would never see her ex husband and her bakery and her life collide..oops,did I mention we have a son? Great read, would recommend to everyone who has had to deal with a monster or not.
    Fun book
The heroine is the owner of a bakery, and I like her spunk. The hero is not your average rich guy. He seems to have an open heart and the way he appreciates the heroine's ample figure post baby is especially endearing. The sex scenes were slightly awkward, but the humorous undertones made the awkwardness feel like part of the relationship.
    Five Stars
    really good
    Great read.
    Great read.

    Publisher's Summary:
Going undercover, playing the part of a disgraced former Marine, is easy for Chase Westin - until a Christmas Eve mission takes him back to his hometown and face to face with his estranged brother.
When KC, an undercover FBI agent, flies into Chase's life with her Doc Martens, purple, punk-rock hair, and Hollywood-hype leather and chains, Chase realizes that falling in love is more dangerous than catching bullets.
    Members Reviews:
Excellent start to a new series
Undercover operative Chase Weston meets undercover FBI agent KC and the sparks fly! Trouble is, both of them are working different (but related) cases and neither of them know the other is undercover. Nor do they trust each other, but they can't ignore the chemistry between them!
While this is a romance, the action comes first - and what excellently written action it is! This isn't a story that leaves you hanging at the end, but it is obvious the next book will carry on from where this leaves off. I, for one, can't wait!
Joe Jung was a little shaky with his narration at the start of this story, but he soon gets into his stride and I'd be more than happy to listen to him narrate again. Worth a credit? A big YES from me! Swiftly followed by, 'Can we have book 2 soon please, kkthx!'
    Barely Chasing Shadows
This is potentially a good start to action romance series. But then it falls just short of the mark. The two main characters instance attraction might be the problem. I would have liked to have had a slower and more intense build to their romance. There was potential to keep us on the edge but the romance seemed to be rushed. I like the strong female lead KC and Chase as the alpha male in pursuit. Maybe it is the development of the bad guys that would have helped. But there is potential. And the supporting characters are definitely intriguing. If the book is on sale it is worth a listen. Lets hope the author can provide more depth to the next book. Compared to KGI series by Maya Banks this one is a little lukewarm.
    Wondering till the end.
This was a great first Shadow Ops book. It will not be my last. The combo of wispersync technology made progress awesome.
    Love the relatable characters.
Wow, this was a surprise. A good one!
Its always a risk to try an author you havent tried before. This one paid off. It started off good and it just got better. It has very little sexual content but it has lots of undercover FBI action. Its very fast paced and allot happens in a short time but if you enjoy bad guys, good guys and romance I think youll enjoy this.

Her friends are there for her, but theyre also involved in their own lives and loves, so off she goes into a world of casual dating. But what happens when the avowed spinster, the woman who has supposedly tucked her heart into a safe little space, suddenly realizes that her best friend Brian means more to her?
Jamie Lynn Braziels Declaring Spinsterhood delivers with this enjoyable romp through dating, friendship, and passion.
    Members Reviews:
    Juvenile and poorly written
What disappointed you about Declaring Spinsterhood?
The main character (Emma) acted like an overly dramatic, eye rolling, ice cream eating pre-teen.
Would you ever listen to anything by Jamie Lynn Braziel again?
    Not likely
Would you listen to another book narrated by Johanna Parker?
    yes
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Declaring Spinsterhood?
All of the scenes in which the main character interacted with her mother. They made her (Emma) seem petty and juvenile.
Oh, and all of Emma's scene's with her best friend and love interest (forgot his name). They were superficial and cringe worthy.
    Any additional comments?
I know it seems harsh, but I would really advice others against spending their credit on this book. It's really not worth it.
    What century is this?
I didn't read other reviews before buying this book, I judged it by its cute cover. I did finish the book, but just barely. The reader is fine, it's the story that bothered me. The main character is unrealistically chaste under the guise of being a Christian preacher's daughter while at the same time being an incredibly manipulative sexual tease. Her family is unforgivingly rude and unaccepting. Some of the dialogue is, I think, meant to be funny, but I just found myself feeling offended and disbelieving that this story is supposed to take place in modern-day Texas.
    Predictable
The story is very formulaic and has little depth. It reminded me of a 1980s teen angst movie. While I realized at first look that this book was going to be a light easy read I did want a little invention within the storyline. Most of these books all end the same way girl get guy, I only wished the journey had not felt so forced and convenient. The writing is passable but had no real flare or distinctive style. I was bored most of the time and only continued to read in hopes that it would get better. I can't recommend this book if you have another choice.
    Classic and cute
Would you consider the audio edition of Declaring Spinsterhood to be better than the print version?
I like the audio version, because then i can clean and do other things. But if i want to relax whit a cup of tea, it will be the printet version.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Emma. The way she handle her mother and her ex Steve. The way she takes control on her one life. And her confusing feelings about Brian.
What about Johanna Parkers performance did you like?
    I just love her.

    Members Reviews:
Cheesy stories with a poor narrator
Is there anything you would change about this book?
It's dated and cheesy, which is to be expected from this early work. I love this author's later titles.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
    Updated it.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Her voice was very high and she had this weird habit of breathing in a way that made the female protagonists sound like they were constantly out of breath. It was very distracting. Also her rhythm was off. She seemed to pause in places that weren't appropriate, i.e. in the middle of paragraphs. Her high voice made her sound like a little kid and made the women sound whinny.
Do you think Confessions needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
    No
    Any additional comments?
This was an obvious repackaging of some older titles. No attempt was made to update the book, and it shows. I wouldn't waste a credit on this title.
    Waste of listening time!
not a usual lisa Jackson -totally dragged and sounds like a brand spanking new writer!
    Good but missing depth
This was a good, light read. I would have loved to have seen a little more depth in the characters, but it was a fun, light way to pass the time.
    Hmmm
What did you like best about Confessions? What did you like least?
Confessions was a nice light story to listen to while doing chores. It's a little dated (no reference to cell phones, everyone has oldfashioned answering machines). There's also some discontinuity between the stories - at least as far as I can remember. In the second story, between Ben and Carly, Kevin's son is featured. However, in the first story, between Hayden and Nadine, there is no mention of Kevin having a son.
Would you be willing to try another book from Lisa Jackson? Why or why not?
Maybe. The stories didn't suck me in. It was a decent story, not bad, just not terribly gripping.
What three words best describe Kate Rudds voice?
Stilted, Jennifer Grey. Kate Rudd has a tendency to read word's very formally, without rounding off Ts and Ds, for example. I'd compare it to a square wheel rolling. When she is reading any emotion, I keep hearing Jennifer Grey's Baby (Dirty Dancing) character begging Johnny or her father. Most of the time, these two items weren't distracting but then her pronunciation or inflection would pull me out of the story.

    Publisher's Summary:
Two magnolias-and-mistletoe-inspired holiday stories from the best-selling author of more than 30 romantic, humorous novels.
Laughter and love combine in Sandra Hill's "Blue Christmas" - with a touch of Elvis magic. Wealthy Wall Street businessman Clayton Jessup III has only one reason for arriving in Memphis a few days before Christmas - to sell off his inheritance, an embarrassingly kitschy hotel named The Blue Suede Suites. His feelings for the Land of Elvis are dark: his long-dead Memphis mother abandoned him and his dad when Clay was a baby, and now Clay wants nothing to do with a southern legacy that couldn't be more different from his sophisticated big-city life.
But then he steps in trouble - literally - when he confronts the bizarre group of Elvis impersonators who've set up a living Nativity scene on his property. One slip of a wingtip in some sheep poop lands Clay in the care of gorgeous Annie Fallon, whose big-haired Elvis-girlfriend get-up can't hide her wholesome, sexy appeal.
Annie and her brothers have set up the Nativity scene to earn some badly needed money for their struggling dairy farm. The last thing she needs is an angry Yankee with a concussion and a come-hither smile...
In "Jinx Christmas", sexy NASCAR star Lance Caslow makes a last-ditch effort to win back his ex-wife Brenda. Five years ago, his reckless pursuit of racetrack fame tore them apart and broke Brenda's heart. Now Lance shows up in Louisiana determined to make things right this Christmas, not just for himself and Brenda, but for their young daughter, Patti.
He's got his work cut out for him, and desperate measures are needed. Lance will do anything to prove he's worthy of Brenda's trust again - even join the Cajun Christmas show starring a raucous Cajun family whose menfolk dance for charity events in little more than a smile....

    More Great Sandra Hill
I read A Dixie Christmas and loved it, as I do Sandra Hill stories. Her characters make me laugh and feel good with all their witty and snappy dialogue. The Jinx Christmas characters are some of my favorite Sandra Hill folks, and always give me a fun read. It's hard sometimes to find books that give you the pleasure you look for in your reading. I can buy Sandra Hill by name and know I'll find that.
    Giggle Out Loud Fun!
I only read the first story, but just had write a review. I grew up in the south and know a lot of people just like the ones in the story who love Elvis. And for all those people who think love at first sight is not real..it happen to me and I've been married 35 years. I found this story very cute. I kept laughing out loud! Yes it's hooky and silly but it is a fun read.
    Cute nicely written stories
Cute nicely written stories...this has 2 short stories in one book...
The first one had some cheesy Elvis lines but was funny... But cute nonetheless...(yeah it is possible for love at first sight but it rare...my parents are proof it's possible & lasting but it's rare nonetheless)
The second story was a story that a true sweetheart love never dies even after a divorce and 5 year break!!!
Not my cup of romance story, a bit too sappy & silly in some parts...
    You'll Love It. Guaranteed.
This is a fun book. Again extremely entertaining. Very funny. Tears blurring your eyes. It's full of fun, love, and family.

Two Ad Reps and a Baby
I enjoyed the story of Jason & Lauren. Two determined ad reps trying to make a go of a family and a working life. The chemistry of these two is amazing. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
    Four Stars
    Good story
Too much stubbornness for a predictable plot
I enjoyed the reading, it's a mild and funny book to read on a rainy day, but I must confess that I skipped some paragraphs to avert a few moments of boredom.
    Five Stars
    Great book
Fine for a quick summer read
I was with this story and enjoying it for what it was right up until the major conflict -- then it all fell apart for me.
The story goes along, introducing characters, fleshing them out and providing a bit of backstory on what happened before the reader joined the story and it was all fine, maybe better than fine. I liked it. Things fall into place slowly and we get to see how the main characters will become a family. Then there is what seemed to me like one very small and quick hiccup. It's a tiny matter and happened so fast that I found myself wondering if I'd missed something. (Actually, as I think back two days later, I am unable to even remember what the problem was.) The characters take this first minor problem as a major issue that they will not even attempt to resolve and so they split. By the time I realized that this was the climax of the book, they had resolved the problem, albeit not in a way that seemed real to me.
I liked the book. As I said, I would consider it for a summer read. But some things about the story just seem rushed and odd to me. I was actually just thinking that I wouldn't recommend this to a friend and then wondered why I'm writing a semi-favorable review for it. I guess that if you're a fan of romances, or this particular type of romance, I'd give it a try in the hopes that future titles from this obviously talented author are really satisfying.
