This series ... oh my Gosh! I have loved it since page one of book one! Learning about deVries so awesome! What a man! Love the audio! Honestly the talent that Kai and Wen have is amazing !!

The Mercenary and the Murderer

I wasn't really a fan of deVries in the prior novel, so I didn't expect to love this audiobook as much as I did. I actually had a book hangover afterwards and didn't want to start a new book and leave these characters behind. I should have known I'd fall in love with these characters, though. Characterization is one of Sinclair's strengths.

This one was romantic suspense, so I found it more exciting than some of the previous books in the series. I really enjoyed how strong a heroine Lindsey turned out to be.

As always, Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott took the story to a higher level with their wonderful narration. They could even make me like a lesser story. This audiobook is the perfect storm of great storytelling and awesome narration.

Lyndsay is amazing strong woman that has a horrible past. Once she opens up about it her Dom and friends are their for in more than one way.

A beautiful take on an old favourite

I loved the story when I read it, Cherise weaves a story that is beautiful and amazing. Then you add in the talented voices of Kai and Wen and the story jumps a level to beyond anything I ever experienced

Cherise Sinclair is an auto-buy author for me, and that's for her books and the audios. This book was a great addition to the Dark Haven series.

Two Twirl-Worthy Book!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this book! In fact, this audiobook took me completely by surprise by how amazing it was - I wished I would have listened to it sooner!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Andi was my favorite character by far. She was one of those rare characters who you come to love and get so invested in you would love to know a version of her in real life. She is funny, strong, sarcastic, caring, kick-ass, reluctantly vulnerable, eternally optimistic and completely inspiring.

Which scene was your favorite?

There are a lot of scenes to love in this book, but some of my favorite scenes are when Andi expresses how happy she is by saying it's a twirl-worthy moment, or in some cases two twirl-worthy.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Oh my goodness. The feels. Yes, this book gave me all of the feels. The best books are the ones that have you laughing and crying, this one made me do just that. I was listening to this book while I was outside, thank goodness no one saw me because I was a mess! They would have thought I was crazy from all of the laughing and crying I did.

Any additional comments?

Elude is the sixth book in the Eagle Elite series by Rachel Van Dyken, but it can be listened to as a standalone. This was not my first Rachel Van Dyken book (but it was the best one I've listened to) but it was the first book in this series that I listened to. I did feel a little behind with all of the characters but they are explained enough that I didn't feel as though it was necessary to have read the previous books - but after listening to this I wish I would have because it was just that good!

This is the story of Andi and Sergio who are going into an arranged marriage, Andi for protection and Sergio for penance. Sergio vehemently does not want to marry Andi, he begs her not to go through with it, then he offers to kill her so they don't have to go through with it and he tells her he will never love her, but the moment they marry he knows he will protect her. Andi is a Russian princess dying of cancer and is going through with this marriage for her own reasons, some of which are sprinkled throughout the book. Andi, though dying, is so full of life and the perfect counterpart to Sergio.

Good Edition

I've been listening to the LOST series since the beginning.

This installment is good, but I did guess the killer. This is my first time doing so.

However, I like the change of scenery. Asher and Bailey's love story does inspire. I'm a little disappointed that his sister is not going to have a relationship with the new sheriff.

Not my favorite

I like this series and I really thought I would like this one more than I did.

YUM.... A hot Brit... need I say more???

Lexi Blake never fails to disappoint with another tale of truly hot sex, suspense and mayhem. This time we get the story of the UBER HOT Brit Simon Weston who has a pension for the power and passion that comes from a lifestyle in the BDSM world. Simon has his sites set on Chelsea Dennis who has pushed him away and ran at every turn. However, the struggle for power is once again broken down by the ever present contracts in the BDSM world. They are thrown together by circumstance however, in the end you'll be surprised how things turn out.

I'm once again bowled over by the phenomenal job that Ryan West had done to bring the story alive. He's truly a Master and sweet baby Jesus... his Dom voice is enough to give anyone extreme panty melting wet dreams. This installment being no exception!!! I can't wait for the next book to come out since it looks like we will finally get to hear Jesse's story... I just pray that it comes fast. Is it too much to hope this would be my Christmas present????? Pretty please Ms Blake.... with who cream, chocolate, sprinkles and all...the more the better for a truly amazing BDSM feast..... YUM!!!

Can't go wrong with Masters and Mercenaries

Simon and Chelsea's story -- I love following the McKay Taggart clan and their fights against all comers even themselves when it comes to love. Lexi Blake is a master storyteller and Ryan West is one of the best narrators in the business. He makes the books come alive. Well worth the listen, your time, and a credit.

Story sounds even better in audio

I really enjoyed hearing this book. I laughed out loud at the humor. Chelsie and Simon are a fascinating pair. lots to work with there.

Not a lot of substance to this book

Not a lot of substance to this book. at times I think how stupid is this girl not a fan of the main character. her voice also seems that she is trying to hard.

usual V.C. Andrews drama, jealousy, and deceit. I just wish that the Characters wasn't so Good that they go against their selves Everytime! it's one thing to help your sister but if she couldn't make it to see her date then he would have been stood up... but then it would be a story...

Youll Need A Flashlight To Get Through This Dark

On the cover of this book, it says a dark suspense, and that's what it is and it's not an understatement! The story centers around Sydney and Merc, they first meet up when Sydney is seventeen, begging Merc to save her from bad guy boyfriend Garrett, but Merc is no hero and after roughing her up, he serves her up to Garrett on a silver platter, but he leaves an ominous message with her that he will be back, when she least expects it to finish her off.

Several years later, engaged to be married to a man named Brett, happiness is within her reach, but a feeling of dread overcomes her and she decides to run, unfortunately for her right into Mercs clutches. Kidnapping her, Merc sets about breaking down Sydney and attempting to extract information from her about Garrett, who disappeared from her life without a trace years ago.

This book is a difficult listen and if you have triggers youll want to stay far away from this book, its a terrifying tale and theres extreme violence, degradation, dubious consent, and explicit sexual content, this is more of a thriller/suspense novel but it does have romantic elements and an HEA, but you feel like youve been through war to get there!

The dual narration by Troy Duran and Anna Riordan was flawless, what they do really is acting and they both did a wonderful job. The audio production quality was first class and I look forward to listening to more from these narrators!

Where do I begin?

I teetered on whether or not to purchase this book for way longer than is necessary to give up a credit, but ultimately it now part of my library. The reviews intrigued and scared me at the same time, but the book itself messed with me far more. The theme of mind control and helplessness had me searching within myself for ways to press on. These characters are, pardon my language, fucked in the head...all of them. Each and every single one, whether they're prominent or background figures, they're fucked. But I say that with a smile because that's how we all are, hopefully not to their extremes. Just when you think you've completed the overall puzzle in the story, you realize that every event and every person is a piece that you never thought to put together. This review may only be somewhat helpful to you if you're as hesitant as I was, so I'll hush (wink wink) and state it plainly. Click the button, spend the credit, make the purchase.

Even better than book 1

I enjoyed book one of this series so I had high hopes for this second book and I'm happy to say that I was not disappointed. This book delivers a skillful plot with twists and turns, delightful banter, steamy romance, and suspense. The lead characters (Connor & Tabitha) have a "bantering" chemistry that is endearing and so much fun to watch unfold. It is funny, sexy and very difficult to put down.

I'm glad they stayed with the same narrator for this series so far. She's really done a nice job with this series.

Please Note: This book (and series) has a good story but does include descriptive sex scenes and adult language. Adults only recommended!

Hard to Listen

Over all the story was okay but the narrator made it hard to listen. She sounded too robotic or monotone. The story seemed a little hokey and slow in some places. Worth a credit if you have nothing else to listen to.

Great Story!

I enjoyed this second installment much more than the first, Wicked Beautiful. The plot was more believable, the characters more likable and there was more intrigue. There was plenty of action, which I enjoy in any book. I received this title as a gift from the author, narrator and/or publisher, and am happy to leave my honest review in exchange. I liked the narrator, you can tell that they are good at their job when they don't intrude on the story but bring it to life, and Melissa Moran did just that.

Ultimate Courage

I'm kind of surprised the dog didn't have more of a role in the story, but I guess an unsocialized dog wouldn't interact with people the same way a normal dog would. That said, I liked the twist on "heroine running from abusive ex" storyline.

I have a general complaint about "love at first sight" stories. Especially when the woman is emotionally traumatized by her ex. There's no reason the author can't drag it out over months instead of a single week. All I'd need would be a prologue and a heading saying "6 months later". It would be more believable & not take me out of the story everytime it's mentioned the couple has only known each other for a week.

Love Love Love the Dog

While I enjoyed the main characters Alex (dog trainer & single dad) and Eiisa (woman on the run from crazy ex-fiancé), the dog (no idea how to spell his name) and Alex's daughter Boom stole the show.

There were some issues with the plot (a little too rushed, a few dumb moments) yet overall it was engaging and entertaining. The author is obviously talented so her books should just keep getting better.

Why the porn??

Good story, but I feel as if the author could have developed the characters better if she didn't spend time writing the porn

yes. I just wish Daniel would only do the male voices throughout and Kristin only do the female. The female character sounded like a transexual when Daniel Thomas May did her voice. It was weird.

i like this series very much. deals with several issues and like that. shows insight into what our military goes through. most of all the dogs.

Good storyline!

I breezed through these three books and though that was it but there's more! How long will I have to wait for the other books to come out, I'm not sure. We still have at least two characters that need their stories told and this entire storyline fiasco solved and wrapped up. I can't wait!! Trish McCallan good job, I'm not going to say I don't like Luke Daniels as a narrator but Angela Dawe read the first book and I like her voice a lot more.

Irresistable to Animal Lovers

Loved this story featuring veterinary Riley and ex-SEAL Cody, particularly their first meeting. I particularly liked how caring and protective (but not overbearing) Cody was toward Riley, her cats, his dogs, his friends and co-workers.

The author did an excellent job of giving each of the dogs and cats an unique personality, very appealing to an animal lover like me. The romance between Riley (who had seen enough suffering to last a lifetime) and Cody was realistic and non-violent.

Even Sebastian York could not save the horrible female narrator!!!

I had to DNF. She has a horrible voice. And I could listen to Sebastian York read the phone book. I may try to read this to gauge the story but I cannot recommend the audio.

This story was only adequate. If it wasn't free through Kindle Unlimited I would have asked for a refund. The female narrator was barely tolerable. The male narrator was perfection. He saved the story and made me want to finish.

LOVED THIS SERIES

Another great book by Sandra Owens. The book was heartbreaking and heartwarming. It's so easy to become immersed in the story, wanting to be apart of the group. Such wonderful characters. I really enjoyed this series and wish there was more. I look forward to reading and/or hearing more.

Sebastian York and Amy McFadden are excellent narrators!

Story ok.

Not the best I have ever heard but the story is ok if you like animals and tension. Sebastian York is brilliant as ever but Amy Mc Fadden is not which is a big minus
