Riveting!!

As always, Heather Grahams' books grab your attention and holds it to the very end. She takes you with her into a world of suspense, intrigue, and darkness of the human psych. She threads her stories with history, emotions, and rays of light. An excellent book: one among many she has written. I would recommend this book, or any of her books, to anyone who enjoys a good read and with an open mind.

A Perfect Beach Read!

Lara Mayhew is a congressmanâs media assistant and passionate about politics. When her friend, new FBI agent Meg Murray finds out she disappeared after leaving a cryptic message on her phone, she grows worried. Add in there are bodies fitting Laraâs description that are popping up in local rivers. As the days go by, Meg worries that this terrible serial killer has got Lara. When Meg is assigned to the elite and unusual group, Krewe of Hunters, Meg finds a group of agents with different abilities and alongside agent Matt Bosworth, Meg finds out that someone will silence anyone who gets in their way. I love heather Grahamâs Krewe of Hunters series but lately she seems to keep adding more and more characters to the group. It felt like I should keep a scorecard of who is where in the Krewe. With that said, I have to admit THE SILENCED is pure reading enjoyment on a lazy summer afternoon. We get caught up with the main group of the Krewe of Hunters, in the heart of Washington DC, where they are based. I loved seeing Jackson Crowe, Adam Harrison and the rest of the original group before it snaked off to other areas in the country where other groups of the Krewes are. The setting with Washington DC as backdrop and the political issues play a part in the storyline but it also has history. The battles of Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry and more also play out as readersâ race alongside Meg and Matt as they search for clues to Laraâs disappearance as well as to the brutal murders. Ms. Graham does a great job with the many different characters as they had defined jobs throughout and the story keeps its center on Meg and Matt as well as their search for Lara.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!

I LOVE THIS BOOK! I love reading shifter stories but sometimes the authors get lazy with the biologic imperative of mating and use it to explain away some really crappy behavior. Not so in this book. The author acknowledges the mating heat but calls out the crappy behavior when warranted. I like that the students are seniors and have a chance to get through the mating heat and still succeed with their ambitions. Avery is strong and soft at the same time. She knows who she is and what she wants but is plagued with the same insecurities any young woman has.

Great new series

Really enjoyed this story. It was short and sweet, but you still got a fleshed out story. I usually don't enjoy younger characters, but the author did such a fantastic job I was able to get past my issues. I recommend this new series to all paranormal romance readers.

This is a very good start to a series. There is some violation and sexual content. The characters are well developed. Looking forward to the next book.

Sweet and Sexy

I think this is my favorite Brandy Walker book thus far. I love shifters :) the only thing that would have been better would have been for them to actually shift fully annnnnd if it were longer! The story was good, the characters were strong and I loved how our hero Declan realized how heâd hurt her and enthusiastically worked to make amends. Sweet and sexy wonderful read!

This tiger has bite!

Loving this new series about shifters going off on their own for the first time. In many of the books I read the shifters are well known in their communities and do not have to attempt to hide from humans. So I really enjoyed seeing this different perspective. Our heroine is a dominant female which is awesome, of course, but there are all sorts of characters to meet - geeks, weasels (and not the shifting type), and submissives. And now a bit about the story...

Sam is heading for Harmony University to complete her degree outside of her pride. This is a big step for her and even though her cousin is already there she is still nervous. Her first night there is a large party at their house and she meets Gavin. As with any college party you never know how things will end...

Favorite passages:

- The urge to taste her had been too strong, an unseen force drawing them together like polar opposites.

- "If you touch another female on this campus, it'll be the last thing you do."

Education with A Plus

This is the first time I am reading one of novels from this line so I chose a author I know and enjoy reading. Being a older person I sometimes shy away from novels that have characters college bound but will if story is intriguing enough. This novel centers around Sam who is off to a university not far from home,something she feels will bring balance and a experience she feels that is needed for herself. She also will not be like many that will be attending the school because she also has a side to her that most will not know about. Even though at the school she will be around some such as she some will be human. When there one of her dorm mates mentions a party which they go to. That party will be also the beginning of a different road than she imagined when coming to school. She would meet her mate but oh he is human. Gavin also is no stranger to her world which will make for telling a whole lot easier to swallow. The tale contained in this novel is short and sweet and quite delicious but does contain a event that will take them up against a guy who will be one bad taste. Thank goodness for her training also or this story could have gone in a different direction all together. Needless to say this was not your typical story on characters who go away from home to college but one that has more meat to it paranormal style. It also has a ending that will melt your insides too.

A Story Unlike Anything I've Read!

I loved that this book was such a new premise to me. It was just a little slow to start, mostly just because I was just as confused as the main character. But it wasn't long before I was sucked into the mystery. I even had trouble stopping and going to bed!

I will say though that while this has a little romance, there's no steam at all, so to me it's mostly a mystery, rather than romance.

I really enjoyed the story overall, but was a little dissatisfied by the ending, while I think it's an HEA, it felt a bit incomplete. I'm hoping we get a sequel to truly finish the story.

I Fell In Love With This Story!!

The story of Conall and Ainslee left me feeling so many emotions. These two were fated to be together but supernatural circumstances kept them from truly living the life they were due.I fell in love with them both and I cried like a baby reading about the injustice that was heaped upon Ainslee more than once.Kelli McDonald Young has the ability to make you live her stories,I found myself not reading words but immersed in the story like a voyeur.When I read the last page I felt cheated because I Needed More,so you can imagine the elation that swept over me when I found out there will indeed be more!! Thank you Kelli for enriching my life with your glorious words!!

Soul deep love and devotion

My heart aches with such passionate sorrow. This book is just beautiful, soul changing and unforgettable! My heart will forever be changed. A mother's love is the most cherished and fierce protection a child will ever have. This book not only shows the depth of her love for her children, but for her true love. Her soul mate. Her every breath. I felt this story so deeply. The writing is truly wonderful. Her descriptions are poetic and the history woven into the threads of it were beautifully done. I look forward to reading the next book to see what will happen next. Great book. A definite recommend!!

Applause!!

I cried, I laughed,I loved! Amazing story love love and loss. I went straight into a whole whirl wind of emotions. I loved the characters and how the story flowed beautiful just like a movie in my head.. This is old school romance with people and a story that you can fall in love with. Well written can not wait for book two..kudos to the author amazing.

Beautifully written novel. I was enthralled from the first page to the very end. Captured intense action, romance, and a strong devotion towards family and heritage, Anam Cara has been my top book of the summer. I am on edge and cannot wait for Seasons of the Soul Book 2 to arrive.

I absolutely loved this series and on audiobook, it's even better...thanks to the narrator! Joshua is amazing! I can't stand when women narrators do male voices so this was realistic and HOT. I'd love to hear more from him and Payne!

OMG! This is the best!

What did you love best about Lumen?

It would be easier to say what I didn't like! And that would be nothing. There isn't a thing about Lumen I didn't love

Who was your favorite character and why?

I still have to lean towards Jacob. Who doesn't want to have their own alpha male hunk taking charge!

Which character as performed by Joshua Story was your favorite?

I love Jacob. Joshua does his voice in such a sexy manner...makes your toes curl. Love a guy with an accent.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Without giving anything in the story away, I think the most moving was when Samantha and Iain told the family of their decision they made.

I love the fact that the pack is seeking other shifters. This opens the doors for so many future installments of the series. This episode showed more of the humour of the pack, especially through Lumen herself. She is comical in her new position. Loved this book, and really love the series. This is the perfect example of two very talented artists combining their gifts together and creating an awesome product in the end. Joshua Story, you rock! Payne, I love your imagination and where your mind brings us.

I love the humor of Lumen! Although Allison and Jacob are still going at it, we have new entertainment in this book with Lumen and Matthew. Lumen constantly had me rolling! Once a wolf, she now takes human form and has to learn to act like one. Well, at least she is trying to... somewhat.

I love how the series was written. One gripes I have with some authors is introducing too many characters too quickly. Payne gradually introduced characters into the story line through the entire series. I hate having to try to keep of track of 20 characters in the first 10k words of a book. Another gripe I have is covers. Come on ladies, does every romance book have to have a guy with exposed abs on the cover for you to buy it? And you say men are shallow ... but I digress.

I really enjoyed this one. It was a unique take on the gfy theme as well as a unique take on shifters. I would love more from this world.

The narrator was ok but didn't really portray the emotions. He mostly just read the story with some energy.

Draco - Buck did a great job of capturing the essence of him. Buck actually did a great job of bringing each of the characters to life. His excellent narrating skills kept me listening to the book.

maybe disappointment. I didn't have any strong reactions to it.

ENJOYED THE STORY, BUT NOT THE NARRATOR

I have read or listen to a great amount of books in the Fantasy/PNR genre, so I was excited when I read the synopsis of this book. It intrigued me, that idea of a superhero (or Guardian as they are called in the book) having a corporation where he charges for his services. It makes sense, when you are rob, the cops dont volunteer their services they get paid for their time. But thats beside the point, of this review. Anyways, so Draco is a guardian and Wendy is her handler. Basically Wendy is his glorified personal assistant. She keeps track of his daily clients, investigates all his clients and their problem before he sits down to meet with them, makes sure he gets enough rest and sees a medic if injured and so on. But Dracos nemesis soon learns that his greatest weakness is the people closest to him. That puts Wendy in danger and under the protection of her own guardian.

The narrator voice is terrible for this book. His regular voice is just fine but when he tries to do different voices for the characters he fails miserably. I wanted the voice for the hero to masculine, deep, rich and delicious. Instead the narrators voice had the texture of an old man speaking and sometimes just downright comical. I dont want to visualize my grandfather speaking when I think of the hero. I want Chris Hemsworth not Adam West.
