πŸŒΎπŸ“ˆ Comprehensive Agricultural and Economic Update πŸŒπŸ“‰

Welcome back to our channel, where we delve into significant updates across agricultural markets, weather impacts, and economic conditions affecting global agriculture.

🌾 USDA just dropped the latest on drought monitor data. 🌧️ Rainfall played favorites in the Corn Belt last week. The good news? Drought conditions improved in several spots like western Michigan, northern Minnesota, and more. But, some areas like northeastern Missouri saw things worsen. Kansas got a dose of relief with heavy rainfall. 🌱

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ US Areas Hit by Drought:Β
🌽 Corn: 2%
🌱 Soybeans: 1%
❄️ Winter Wheat: 16%Β
🌾 Spring Wheat: 3%
πŸ„ Cattle: 8%

A high pressure ridge is bringing in warmer vibes to the Corn Belt. 🌑️ Brace yourselves for some above-normal temperatures and higher humidity levels, as per the 6-10 and 8-14 day government forecasts. Western and northwestern Corn Belt might snag some rain, but the eastern side might stay a bit parched.

Over in Brazil, the forecast for the second corn crop is looking up. 🌽 Conab, Brazil's USDA equivalent, upped their estimate to 88.1mmt, a 2.3% jump from last month. However, Brazil's total corn production is expected to dip to 114.1mmt, mainly due to a soggy situation in southern Brazil affecting soybean crops.

US corn exports are holding steady despite a slight dip last week. 🌽 Sales clocked in at 1.1mmt (42mil bushels), with Japan leading the pack. Soybean sales are on the rise, hitting 377,100mt (14mil bushels), with China taking the lion's share. Wheat sales didn't meet expectations, but Mexico made a notable buy.

More soybeans flying off the shelves! πŸ›’ US exporters snagged a deal of 120,000mt (4mil bushels) for delivery next marketing year. That's the fourth flash sale in five sessions, totaling 434,000mt (16mil bushels).

The oil and ethanol folks aren't thrilled about the push for EVs. ⚑ They've teamed up to challenge Biden's pollution limits, arguing that it unfairly favors EVs over gas and diesel vehicles. The EPA's restrictions could force more EV sales, overlooking ethanol's emission-reducing abilities. Supporters compare these standards to the catalytic converter introduction in the '70s.
