The Pickle Jar Podcast - Adrenal Insufficiency

E19 - Cortisol - The LIFE Sustaining Hormone

Listen Later

One of my biggest challenges with my Addison's Disease is explaining to people the ESSENTIAL ROLE cortisol plays in the body.  It is more than a stress response hormone.  It maintains LIFE is all of the 30 trillion PLUS cells in the human body.

Individuals with Addison's Disease/Adrenal Insufficiency do not produce cortisol and must take replacement hormones for life.

Replacement hormone to SUSTAIN LIFE!

This episode explains the essential role cortisol plays in the human body (as best as I can explain anyways)
