Much like an addict visiting a drug dealer, farmers in dire situations will constantly go back to the bank and continue to dig themselves deeper into their problems. The bank is concerned with generating interest and money for itself. They will lend to you until you literally have nothing left. Going to the bank to take out more money doesn’t fix the underlying problems; sometimes a massive change is needed.
