The Sg2 Strategy Exchange is a networking and shared learning opportunity for health system strategic planning leaders. Previously, in Sg2 Perspectives episode 111, we provided a debrief of the exchange’s first session, which included strategy roles, strategic prioritization and scenario planning. In this episode, host Trevor DaRin and Sg2’s Director Janelle Kwan, MBA, and Principal Jennifer O’Connor, FACHE, cover the exchange’s second session, which focused on the strategic planning process itself, including the incorporation of data, navigating systemness and leadership transitions, and care access improvement.

This week on Sg2 Perspectives, Sg2 Principals Heidi Pandya, MSHA, and Jayme Zage, PhD, join us to discuss all things related to health care at home. Heidi and Jayme start with the current landscape and why health care organizations are evaluating care-at-home services, and then cover how organizations can get started with health-care-at-home programs and prioritize their options. (Hint: stand back and take stock of your strategic imperatives first, then prioritize those strategies and see where care at home fits.)

Traci and Dave not only dig into what health care organizations and academic medical centers are focusing on (eg, workforce, physician alignment, health equity, growth and service distribution), but also how their approaches and strategies may differ depending on their local markets.

Sg2 does significant work with suppliers and other industry partners (which we call Life Sciences and Industry [LSI]). This week, Sg2 Perspectives has invited Principal and General Manager Karl Karlsson, PhD, and Principal Jeff Moser, who lead our work in the LSI space, to talk about how LSI partners can adapt to become better strategic partners as many health systems hit reset with their priorities and initiatives this year. Karl and Jeff cover not only how LSI partners can assist health systems with workforce challenges and optimizing operations, outcomes, and finances, but also how they can provide expertise on consumer and supply chain spend.
