Tiempo de radio en la compañía de los Beau Brummels, una de las bandas imprescindibles para entender el sonido de la costa Oeste de la segunda mitad de los años 60. El sello Hanky Panky acaba de editar el disco “Two days ‘til tomorrow”, un recopilatorio que recoge los singles no incluídos en álbumes que lanzó esta banda de San Francisco entre 1966 y 1969 -su etapa para Warner Records- así como los singles que lanzó en solitario el cantante Sal Valentino tras la disolución de la banda.

“For truly great music”, rezaba su slogan. A mediados de los años 50 el sello Fortune Records era ya una institución en la ciudad de Detroit. La disquera fundada por el matrimonio formado por Devora y Jack Brown atraía a decenas de músicos locales, blancos y negros, aportando sonidos de country, rockabilly, R&B, doo wop o early soul. En un edificio de hormigón, ubicado en el 3942 de la Tercera Avenida, tenían su tienda de discos, y en la trastienda un minúsculo estudio de grabación en donde con apenas unos pocos micrófonos dieron forma a un catálogo discográfico marcado por un sonido tan sucio y encrudecido como auténtico y adictivo.

En 1992 Keith Richards lanza su segundo disco en solitario, respaldado de nuevo por los X-Pensive Winos. Aunque no tuvo especial repercusión comercial ni sobresale como un gran disco, “Main offender” lleva impreso el inconfundible sello del legendario guitarrista. El caramelo en esta reedición 30 aniversario es un segundo disco con un directo inédito hasta la fecha, registrado en Londres aquel mismo año y en donde se puede saborear lo bien que sonaban Richards y los Winos sobre un escenario.
