This spring, Whitney immersed herself in a 200-hour meditation teacher training certification program and she's so excited to share lots of new learnings and tools!
Today she teaches the 16 Seconds technique, a mindfulness exercise developed by meditation expert and author, and one of Whitney's mentors, Davidji. It involves taking 16 seconds to pause, breathe, and choose a conscious response to a situation, rather than reacting impulsively. Whether at home or at work, 16 Seconds is perfect to try out any time you're in a conversation and feel stress or tension rising in your body. With practice, you'll learn to pause and respond to situations with more calm and skill, rather than reactivity.
Whitney would love to know how your experience with 16 Seconds goes! Share today's episode on Instagram with one take away and be sure to tag her - @whitneywoman!

Growing up, friendships just happened. We didn't put much thought or effort into them because they just were. As an adult and as a mother, life can feel very different. Just the thought of navigating a new friendship can feel heavy and exhausting, but research shows having social connections is full of benefits for women.
Emily Siegel is my guest today. She's a mom, friendship mentor and coach, and podcast host. As the leader of The Connected Mom Life Community, she helps busy moms create the circle of friends they crave. Because Emily firmly believes we weren't made to mom alone, she's on a mission to see that we stop trying.
Life is easier and more fulfilling when we live the phrase "it takes a village." Being intentional and consistent are two parts of this. Emily shares the five different types of friends every mom can have, and so much more.
We are a few days away from Mother's Day! Emily and I would love to know what you connected with from today's episode with your friendships and how they are filling you up. Share today's episode on Instagram with one take away and be sure to tag us - @theconnectedmomlife and @whitneywoman!

Want to understand what motivates you? It could be time to explore your Enneagram type. Enneagram categorizes people into different types – there are nine main ones – and helps us understand our unique way of perceiving the world. It's a great tool for understanding ourselves better, and where other people are coming from, too.
My guest today, Abbi Rodriguez, is an accredited Enneagram teacher and certified somatic practitioner. Her work centers on partnering with people and helping them get curious – and make sense of -- their lives through exploration of Enneagram and Somatic Integration. Abbi travels across the United States to teach the Enneagram. She teaches workshops, coaches individuals & couples, and facilitates corporate workshops.
We discuss the nine Enneagram types, what motivates people in each category, and the corresponding fears associated with each type, which can lead to blind spots or self-sabotaging. Once you know your Enneagram type, you can use that knowledge as a beautiful map to self-awareness and personal growth. Your type also provides insight into how you communicate and interact with others.
Abbi and I would love to know what you connected with from today's episode and what Enneagram types resonated with you. Share today's episode on Instagram and be sure to tag us - @enneagramspace and @whitneywoman!
Here's what to look forward to in today's episode:
-What Enneagram is, does, and how it works for you
-Why now is its moment in the sun
-An overview of each of the 9 Types
-The language it gives to explain the things that are typically true of us
-What Couples Coaching with Enneagram looks like
-What is your orientation processor? How do you collect and make sense of information - internally or externally?
-Conflict style is one of the triad groups: positive outlook group, competency group, and emotional realness group
-Abbi's lifeforce gifts are the aha moments for her clients
-What's one question women should be asking themselves more? What do I need? Giving yourself honest space to ask and answer this question.

Some people argue what we wear is insignificant or shallow to consider. But clothes can affect everything from how we feel, to how we view and engage with the world. Women often let fear of outside judgment get in the way of showing up authentically when it comes to getting dressed, but today's episode will inspire you to leverage your wardrobe as a tool for stepping into your best self.
My guest Susan Padron is an intuitive personal stylist and award-winning author who helps clients dig below the surface and reveal their unique self beyond their limiting stories. Susan shares ways to identify your personal style and rules it's time to unlearn in fashion. We also talk about the second step that's often missed when purging your closet and questions to ask yourself when purchasing clothes - especially when it comes to trends. Overall, Susan makes the case for how we get dressed each day matters.
