A leading authority on workforce solutions worldwide, Barry Asin is renowned for his expertise on staffing and contingent labor. President of Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) since 2010, Asin holds overall responsibility for the company’s strategy, operations and growth on a global basis. He has been with the company since 2003, where he previously held the position of Chief Analyst, leading the team responsible for SIA’s award-winning research and content.

Asin is the co-author of Breaking Through: Leadership Disciplines from Top Performing Staffing Firms and is a frequent speaker at industry events, sharing essential insights on leadership and the challenges, opportunities and rapid transformations around work today. He is quoted in major business and industry publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, BusinessWeek, Inc. Magazine, The Atlantic, Bloomberg Business, CNBC, Marketplace, and MarketWatch among others.

Prior to joining SIA, Asin spent nearly 12 years as a senior executive at global staffing leader Adecco SA. Before Adecco, he held operations management positions with PepsiCo, and he began his professional career with Andersen Consulting, the predecessor of Accenture. He holds an M.B.A. from Harvard University and a B.S. in engineering from Princeton University.

ABOUT THE GUEST

Janice Walker is chief nursing officer (CNO) at Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas. The system’s integrated delivery network includes Baylor Scott & White Health Plan, Baylor Scott & White Research Institute, Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance and its leading digital health platform, MyBSWHealth. Through 51 hospitals and more than 1,200 access points, including flagship academic medical centers in Dallas, Fort Worth and Temple, the system offers the full continuum of care, from primary to award-winning specialty care, as well as an array of virtual and in-home services.

As CNO, Walker focuses on pursuing excellence in every aspect of patient care through the advancement and integration of professional nursing practices.

Prior to her current role, Walker served in System nursing leadership at the hospital and division level and as chief operating officer at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth. Previously, she was vice president/CNO at Texas Health Presbyterian - Wilson N. Jones (Sherman, Texas) and Freeman Neosho Hospital (Neosho, Missouri).

A Johnson & Johnson Wharton Fellow, Walker received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Henderson State University, and both a master’s of business administration degree in healthcare management and a doctorate in healthcare administration from the University of Phoenix.

Fredrick Martin is the Sr. Director for Change Management at the University of Virginia. He specializes in driving organizational transformation and nurturing positive organizational culture. He crafts and steers change management strategies across the Academic Division and Health System, with an emphasized role in rejuvenating Human Resources practices.

Boasting over 15 years of expertise, Fredrick is renowned for orchestrating pivotal business and cultural shifts in intricate, matrixed settings. A cornerstone of his experience is his tenure as the Master Change Agent for Ascension Health, the U.S.'s largest non-profit, faith-based healthcare conglomerate. Here, amidst a vast network of 2600+ care sites, 151 hospitals, and a workforce exceeding 130,000, Fredrick innovatively developed and applied change management plans in alignment with both regional and national missions.

Fredrick's leadership has been pivotal in metamorphosing organizational cultures, enhancing patient accessibility, championing patient-centric care, and elevating the overall customer experience. Prior to his immersion in healthcare, he ventured into the global arena of offshore outsourcing. He was instrumental in the initiation and governance of call centers spread across diverse international landscapes. His extensive background also envelops facets of organizational development, quality assurance, and operations.

He holds a BS and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Further augmenting his academic accomplishments, Fredrick acquired an Executive Master’s in Healthcare Leadership from Cornell University. He is also distinguished as a certified Master Change Agent.
