May 06, 2019 ElkShape Podcast EP 70 - DIY Alaska Moose
Ted Ramirez Jr. is on the show today to inspire us about the highly romanticized DIY Alaskan Moose hunt. Admittedly, it's always been on my radar, but I haven't committed to it yet. The main reason is I would not want to miss out on elk hunting here in the lower 48. Ted also breaks down his personal fitness journey, and what it is like working in the Hunting Industry. Ted's Dad started Caribou Gear over a decade ago - makers of the ultra light synthetic game bags. If you are serious about hunting, you owe it to yourself to not use cheese cloth. I used to because I simply didn't know what I didn't know. As a hunter, my concern is a higher meat yield and better tasting game meat.

I love talking about spring bear hunting, and who better to chat with than my very own Father and partner in crime, Rod Staton. My dad and I have been doing public land spring bear hunting in Idaho since 2007. We've learned so much together and had some incredible adventures along the way. April 12, 2019 ElkShape Podcast EP 66 - Train To Hunt
Today we're recording with longtime friend Kenton Clairmont of Train To Hunt. We have a rich history, in fact I know Kenton since 2004. We talk about the old days when we started a gym together called CrossFit Spokane Valley (I still own and operate) and how we started Train To Hunt (he still owns and operates). We talk about business, fitness, training, elk hunting and our families. Kenton and I have always been able to pick up where we left off, and he's one of the most down to earth people I know.
This was a fun podcast to record, we go in great depth on what Train To Hunt Challenges are all about and how he's going to help out with next ElkShape Camp.

April 02, 2019 ElkShape Podcast EP 64 - MONEY MONEY MONEY
Welcome to the ElkShape Podcast where we discuss how to make yourself better with your time. Preparing for elk hunting year round is our approach, and we acknowledge that discipline is the common denominator when it comes to being successful. We talk elk tactics, nutrition, fitness and even finances.
Today we are answering YOUR questions on money with financial coach Jeff Bynum. Jeff was on EP 57 if you want to go back and check out some of his insights, but today we discuss ways to save for hunting, balancing your budget, and preparing for the future. You guys sent us some awesome questions to tackle, so hopefully you get inspired to buckle down on your spending and get on the same page financially with your other half. Enjoy.
