One thing that you can see consistent with every cult, is an overemphasis of the Old Testament over the New Testament.  we always must remember that the New Testament takes precedence over the Old Testament. This is an important principle in interpreting Scripture. Remember that Scripture was progressively given over time and people learned more of God's revelation over that time.
