This is episode 5 for 2020 where we are breaking down what EMPOWER means and what are the principles you need too learn about to empower yourself to triumph over your adversity. 

In my eyes, this is one of the most important principles. Mindset can make or break you. Your mindset can be your best ally or your worst enemy, but also your mindset is something you are in control of. You are in control of how you think, feel and act. 

In this episode I talk about conquering the enemy within, talk about happiness in a single moment, and break down what the warrior mindset is. It is about mental toughness to overcome anything that you are faced with in life.

In this episode I talk about identifying your insecurities and fears, how you can manage these and manage the negative self talk, tips on what I do to remind myself that I am worthy and that I MUST stay on track and take responsibility for my own mind.

MOTIVATION MONDAY brings you how to set goals using 6 category buckets! 

I am a bit of a goal setting junkie and thrive off accomplishing goals! But I have learned over the years what works well for me and what hasn't worked well for me when setting goals. 

Personally I use 6 category buckets to set up my goals and ensure I am growing in all areas of my life. But also I hold myself ACCOUNTABLE and ensure they are SMART.

Before you set your goals for the new year... do the 20 New Years Self Reflection Questions which was on my previous podcast to ensure that you learn what went well and not so well for you this year. 

MOTIVATION MONDAY brings you 20 questions to ask yourself about 2019 before 2020 starts! 

I share with you 20 questions that I ask myself every year to reflect on the year that has just passed. I do this exercise before I start setting my next year goals as this allows me to identify my lessons learned for the year, what I loved about the year and what I want to keep doing in the new year; but also what I don't want to do in the new year!

TRIUMPH OVER ADVERISTY STORY 

I interview Brayden Abbott on losing both of his parents in the same year (one to cancer and one to mental health), his journey on coming out gay, being bullied in school and feeling as if he had hit rock bottom with life!

This story is very RELATABLE as we have all been there. At one point in our lives we have all been impacted by cancer, death, mental health, losing our jobs, feeling like a failure, bullying, sexuality and moving interstate etc... 

Brayden decided after losing everything he loved that he would pack up his stuff and move interstate for a fresh start to focus on himself! Too many of us don't take this first big move and feel that it is "selfish" to focus on ourselves; when in fact this is HEALTHY for us to focus on ourselves and get our minds right for our loved ones. 

This is when Brayden started his "self discovery journey" trying to find out who he was and what he wanted in life! 

This has now led him down a path in the Navy, living in Canberra and finally finding the love he has longed for.

MOTIVATION MONDAY brings you 4 tips to visualising your goals!

I am a bit of a goal junkie! I love setting goals and holding myself accountable. But also, I am a big believer in law of attraction and manifesting what you want to the universe. 

I believe it because I have seen the power of law of attraction happen first hand. 

My 4 tips are: 

1. VISION BOARDS
2. Visualise your goals on your way to work 
3. Visualise in meditation 
4. Write down your goals and visualise them daily

TRIUMPH OVER ADVERSITY WEDNESDAY brings you two podcast host sharing their own personal triumph over adversity stories! 

Myself and Ivan from @inmelbournelastweek podcast do a crossover session together and share our stories. This was mine and Ivan's first crossover podcast together and I must say I enjoyed this as we bounced off each others energy and stories. 

Ivan is a CANCER SURVIVOR. Ivan found out he had a rare tumour in his pelvis in his late 20's and needed to have his pelvis removed to get the tumour out... the tumour was the size of a tennis ball! If Ivan didn't go to the doctors about his "knee pains" HE WOULD HAVE DIED; as the tumour would have grown so much more and shattered his pelvis. 

Ivan talks about men's health and gives advice to men about going to the doctors when something doesn't feel right. 

This story is powerful because it is so relevant and relatable. So many people are impacted by cancer... for someone currently going through this or even loved one's being a witness to this, Ivan's story can help! The importance of a positive and growth mindset during this process can help wonders during recovery phase as there is a strong connection between the mind and body.
