Okay... so we're leaning on Philippians 4:4-9 today.

But we're also going to talk about a little BRAIN SCIENCE and a WORD PICTURE to help this famous verse stick with you.  

Especially if you've been a little tempted to worry lately!

PHILIPPIANS 4:4-9

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.[c]

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

Okay... Encourager... God's got YOU and you've got THIS!

Okay... I'm leaning into a phrase I first heard about when I interviewed ad exec Sam Griffin for my OTHER podcast... DREAM THINK DO.

As you'll hear... when Sam was first considering a BIG career move... he experienced a LOT of fear.  But a trusted mentor shared a priceless piece of advice that changed his relationship with fear.  And it's also allowed him to breakthrough and have an INCREDIBLE career and life.

It's so powerful that I wanted to share it with you here.

Because let's face it... in order to become the WELL PAID ENCOURAGER you deserve to be... you're going to have to face some fears.  Fear of potential embarrassment... if things don't go well.  Fear of learning new things.  Fear of stretching.  Fear of crazy wild success!

Okay... an interesting discussion came up in my mastermind for coaches & speakers.

It started with the subject of PODCASTING.  Then... the conversation drifted into the realization that a large chunk of your audience may... in fact... NEVER buy anything from you.

That's when it happened.  A new coach asked a great question.  In short, she said, "Why the heck would you work so hard to produce something that might not bring you any business?"

And whew!  That sparked a GREAT conversation.  So... I wanted to share some of the insights from the discussion.  Plus, encourage YOU to produce VALUE-BASED CONTENT that will help more people than just your Ideal Client.

Today... we're called it MOTIVATION MONDAY!

That's right... and I'm sharing a BRILLIANT concept I recently picked up from Speaker & Success Coach, Eric Recker.  (Check him out at: www.ericrecker.com)

In full transparency... Eric is a coaching client of mine. 

He's a successful dentist and a fantastic human. (As you'll hear... I also call him a "Modern Day Indiana Jones!")

Along with all of that... I'm very excited to say... he's also becoming a WELL PAID ENCOURAGER!  

Well... I was recently able to see Eric kill it with a keynote.  During that talk... he shared about an experience he had when he climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.  It's a GREAT story... but as he told the story... he also offered a KEY CONCEPT and short phrase that will help anyone who might be feeling:

This simple phrase really resonated with me... so I wanted to share it with you!

I think you're going to love it and if you've ever felt a little overwhelmed... or smelled a little smoke from the beginnings of burnout... I think THIS will help!

With this SPIRITUAL SUNDAY episode... we're revisiting a specific prayer we offered in Season One.

We're doing it based on a conversation I had with an awesome Encouraging the Encouragers listener... Gina!

I was able to catch up with Gina at a recent event where I was getting to keynote.  

She's got some great things cooking and her "day job" allows her to be a true ENCOURAGER within her organization.  But she's also working on building a business that's going to freeeegin' change the world! (I guarantee you that she'll be a WELL PAID ENCOURAGER... very soon!)

Well... she shared with me that not only has she listened to every episode.  (They keep her going as she's moving towards being a WPE!) 

BUT... that one particular prayer that I offered... has been answered for her... numerous times!

AND... that's brought a lot of freedom too!

So... I wanted to offer it again... with some modifications and updates!

Here's a KEY TIP for SPEAKERS that I wish I'd known sooner.

It's something an ACTUAL fire drill reminded me of.

It's all about being ready for a KEYNOTE! (This will help whether you're SPEAKING at your 1st or 101st event!)

It happened THIS week.

I was supposed to take the stage in 25 minutes... and BBBBBWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH... the fire alarm started to rip through the event space.

Yup... they had to clear the hall... and everyone was scrambling.  

But... I'm wildly grateful to say... my pre-talk prep SAVED me!  

I wasn't stressed.  So... when they got everyone back in the space with minutes to spare... it all just flowed.  

So... I wanted to share these observations and tips with you here!

And hey...  when you're MORE PREPARED... those BIG events tend to come FASTER!  AND... when you feel prepared... you can enjoy them a whole lot more too!

Whew!

Have you ever come across a concept or a phrase and it just stuck with you???  As the author Robert Fulghum once described it as "An idea that sticks like a burr to your mental sock!"

Well... THAT happened to me recently when I came across the phrase: "A Transitional Character."

It was coined by the late Carlfred Broderick who was a well-respected marriage and family scholar at the University of Southern California.

Broderick described it this way: 

"A 'Transitional Character' is one who, in a single generation, changes the entire course of a lineage."

Now... he was quick to point out that those changes might be for good or ill.  BUT... as an example... he pointed to a number of scenarios where someone who grew up in an abusive and/or emotionally destructive environment but they were somehow able to find a way to shift things and not pass that on to THEIR children. 

As Broderick was know for saying, "They break the mold."

Yup... LOVE that.
