Attorney Maria Barlow is the principal attorney at The Barlow Law Firm LLC and the founder of The Barlow Family Law Clinic N.F.P. She is recognized as Super Lawyer Rising Star. She practices in the area of Family Law, Estate Planning and Conceal Carry Self-Defense. 

Born on the south side of Chicago to a tile-setter father and home-maker mother, Maria prides herself in being a true Chicago native. She is the youngest of 11 children, with 2 older sisters, and 8 older brothers, Maria was first to attend college in her family. Maria attended Kenwood Academy High School, and also attended Northeastern Illinois University where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Justice Studies. Maria went on to attend The John Marshall Law School where she graduated with a Juris Doctorate Degree.

Maria prides herself on being a help to others, she mentors students from grade school through post college. She also sat on the Alumni Board of Directors for the John Marshall Law School, the Chicago Legal Clinic auxiliary board. Currently, Maria is a member of the Board for Minority Legal Education Resources Inc (MLER) and is appointed to the State of Illinois Child Support Advisory Council and the University of Illinois Extension Council Board of Directors. A mother, passionate advocate, leader, and entrepreneur.

That's very difficult to find someone that does that. I mean, people, not everybody wants to work hard, and not everybody is caring and compassionate. You must have that in this area of law. People are in the worst place in their life. They are in shambles. Their lives are upside down. So, you have to have compassion. You have to have care for them.”
