Living in a world that presents countless ways to feel ugly, un-loveable and not enough can make loving oneself a hard, if not brutal battle. Filmmaker and artist, Amy Tompkins, candidly shares about a lifetime of struggling to love herself, her body, what that means in the world, and believing that she is worthy of love. As she has journeyed with increasing triumph in self-acceptance and self-love, the innate creativity and gifting to reveal the beautiful is being unveiled in her newest film "Stars in the Water". The film starts production in 9/2023 is about a tween girl who is boy crazy, but terrified of her body and that no one will love her. The heart of the movie centers around the loving, but imperfect relationship with her and her mom. Set in the 1990’s we experience the pivotal moments that change their whole trajectory.
