Paul is an independent Researcher, Senior Psychological Therapist and Motivational interviewing trainer. He is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). He has over 18 years of experience in training multi-disciplinary health and social care staff in the UK and internationally in Motivational Interviewing, across a range of mental and physical health services. Paul has extensive clinical and research experience in a range of NHS Mental Health Services. His research Interests and writing include, the integration of MI and CBT (Atkinson and Earnshaw, 2019), MI Theory (Earnshaw, 2021), COVID-19 (in press), MI Implementation in Organisations (Atkinson and Earnshaw, 2022).
