MANDY WILDSMITH'S SPONGE

INGREDIENTS.

-          1 cup caster sugar

-          4 eggs

-          1 cup plain flour

-          Scant HALF  teaspoon carb soda

-          1 large teaspoon cream of tartar

-          1 tablespoon boiling water.

METHOD

-          Beat sugar and eggs together until they form a thick creamy consistency.

-          Sift the flour, carb soda and cream of tartar together and GENTLY FOLD into the mixture.
