What REALLY happens at the edge of consciousness? Dreaming is more than just a byproduct of sleep. Once you learn the basics of lucid dreaming, you can solve problems on demand and on a whole new level, not being limited by your logical conscious brain. In this episode we talk about techniques for lucid dreaming, beginner tips, and a bit about the science behind dreaming.
“Lucid dreaming has considerable potential for promoting personal growth and self-development, enhancing self-confidence, improving mental and physical health, facilitating creative problem solving and helping you to progress on the path to self-mastery. If you want to learn to paint, summon Rembrandt. Go fishing with Hemingway or Hesse and talk about that novel you’ve always wanted to write”. LaBerge, “ Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming” 1990
“The process of creation is accompanied by the capacity to communicate with the most primitive layers of the unconscious. When this capacity to communicate includes the ability to ask the unconscious — in the form of the dreaming mind — for artistic inspiration, then the lucid dreaming artist may have a certain advantage over the non-lucid dreaming artist”. Chasseguet-Smirgel, J. (1995) ‘“Creative Writers and Day-dreaming”
While dreaming, there are no physical limitations to what can be created or done. The dreamer can do the “impossible”, enhance their skills, seek new ideas for stories or creations and even summon legends or mentors.
