With five World Marathon Majors and countless other races this fall, we thought that we could all use some tips on strengthening and using our mental muscle on race day. We decided to release this episode earlier in the week so that all who are running Boston and Chicago this weekend will have time to listen and benefit from this episode. We were delighted to welcome Dr. Grayson Kimball, a mental performance coach and founder of GTKSports through which he provides mental coaching services. Dr. Kimball is also the author of the book Grateful Running: Mental Training for the Long Distance Runner. In addition to conducting private consultations, sport parenting workshops, and mental skills training seminars for a variety of Olympic, professional, collegiate, high school, and youth sport athletes and teams, Dr. Kimball is an avid runner, who has run the Boston Marathon a number of times. Dr. Kimball is also the Head Coach for the Team Brookline Boston Marathon Charity Team and consults for numerous endurance training groups in Boston. Dr. Kimball provides solid advice on preparing our mental game for race day. We learned so much from this conversation!
