Mitch Langman is the creator and owner of Dark Carnival Martial Arts in Canberra, Australia. The name Dark Carnival was inspired by Ray Bradbury's 1947 book Dark Carnival which is a collection of short stories about supernatural, often horrific, events told through the attractive features and enticing rides of a dark carnival. The Dark Carnival serves as a metaphor for the game of life where the goal is to solve the riddles presented by folies and tragedy of human nature. You are magnetized toward the Dark Carnival and must enter! You must conquer your demons to escape! Mitch has been training Muay Thai for almost 30 years, Brazillian Jiu Jitsu for 14 years, and is a Black Belt under Chris Haueter. He is the Australian Training Director for Red Zone Threat Management under Jerry Wetzel. Before opening Dark Carnival, Mitch was a member of the Australian Federal Police for 11 years working as an Armourer and in roles within High Tech Crime Operations. We had an epic pod unpacking a way for people to think about and use martial arts as a self development tool and beyond. Enjoy!
