With over 20-years experience in the performance enhancement industry, Brandon Marcello, PhD brings innovation, education, and proven application to the worlds of sports performance, health, fitness, and wellness.

Originally from Sarasota, FL, Marcello has worked in the professional, Olympic and top collegiate settings. He has also served as a consultant to various organizations and media groups.

Having extensive involvement in both the applied and research worlds, he has implemented successful, high-performance training programs for professional, Olympic and collegiate athletes.

For the last 22 years, Dr. Marcello has taken individuals and organizations to the next level through multi-year and time-limited human performance consulting projects in the United States and abroad. His work in conjunction with Draper Laboratories for the U.S. Special Forces has provided a deep, multivariate understanding of the drivers of performance in the battlefield, while projects for professional teams and elite athletes includes performance solutions for nutrition, training, recovery, and high-performance team development.

Prior to this, Marcello served as the Director of Sports Performance at Stanford University. In this role, Marcello oversaw all aspects of athletic performance enhancement of the 36 intercollegiate sport teams. Acting as the chief administrator for the Sports Performance department, Marcello's responsibilities included, but were not limited to, designing facilities and equipment layout, strategic planning, developing nutritional and recovery strategies, overseeing staff development, directing methodology and driving innovation. Hand picked by Head Coach Mike Candrea, Marcello developed and implemented all athletic development programs for the 2008 Silver Medal U.S. Olympic Softball team, 2007 Gold Medal Pan American team and 2006 Gold Medal World Championship team.

In 1999 he was approached by Mark Verstegen to join him in Tempe, Ariz. to help create EXOS (formerly Athletes' Performance (AP)), a world-class training facility for professional and elite athletes. While at AP, Marcello improved the performance of a number of athletes from the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, PGA, LPGA, and WTA.

Prior to his work at the Arizona facility, Marcello was a Performance Specialist at the International Performance Institute (IPI) of the IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla. There he prepared top college football players for the National Invitational Camp (NFL Combine) dramatically improving their draft status; in many cases to first and second round picks.

A recognized author, researcher, and international presenter, he routinely speaks around the world on a number of topics pertaining to elite-level performance. His work appears regularly in numerous journals, textbooks, and periodicals. He also has served as a consultant to U.S. military, many Division-I programs, International Sports Federations, as well and Adidas, Under Armor and Nike.

Marcello holds a PhD in sports nutrition from Baylor University, and a MS and BS in Exercise Science from Marshall University.
