Today on The RÚV English Podcast service, Darren talks to Helen Billington and June Scholtz. They've been friends for over thirty years, which is also how long they've lived in Iceland.

June came to Iceland from South Africa in the mid-eighties and Helen moved from Yorkshire a year later. The good friends live with their respective families in Hellissandur on Snæfellsnes in West Iceland.

After a chance meeting with Helen at the Ólafsvík swimming pool where she works, Darren caught up with her again, and June, to hear their stories of having been "New" Icelanders for almost seventy years between them!
