This episode looks at Zechariah 3:1-10. As a contemporary to the prophet Haggai, Zechariah also prophesies concerning the rebuilding of the Temple. However, in the passage we look at in this episode, not only does Zechariah speak of the rebuilding of the Temple and the re-establishment of proper worship through a righteous priesthood (as he references Joshua, the high priest), but the prophet also causes us to look forward to the coming of the BRANCH, which is Jesus Christ, the Messiah. We learn from this lesson that God gives us visions of the future to encourage us to be faithful in the present.
