Years of Service: 1995-Present

Derek started his law enforcement career with the Buhl Police Department in 1995 before transferring to the Gooding County Sheriff’s Office where he is currently a Detective with the narcotics unit. Derek began his career in Gooding County as a detention deputy and eventually went to patrol where he worked general patrol duties for a year and a half and then transferred to detectives. As a detective, Derek worked on general felony enforcement cases such as violent crimes against persons, sex crimes, crimes against children, and homicide.
