He's one of Coach Ballgame's best friends, and also happens to have given him his first job as a youth baseball coach. It's Dan Spring. "Springer" was a teammate of Ballgame's at Brown University before playing in the Tigers and Cardinals organizations. He's spent the last 20 years coaching over 30,000 kids in Southern California under the title of "Spring Training Baseball Academy." He is a master at using Positive Reinforcement to get the most out of his kids. He also happened to give Ballgame his nickname!
