Alfonso, PhD, is a former professor in the Graduate School of Education at Fordham University in New York City and is currently the dean of the School of Education at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. He received his MA in Clinical/School Psychology from Hofstra University in 1987; and later, in 1990, he received a PhD in the same subject. His research interests include: · assessment and Treatment of Preschoolers · psychoeducational Assessment · life Satisfaction and Subjective Well-being · professional training · stressful Life Events, Social Support, and Health He is coeditor of Essentials of Specific Learning Disability Identification and coauthor of Essentials of Cross-Battery Assessment, Third Edition among other books (on SLD and interventions). He is also the former president of Division 16 (School Psychology) of the American Psychological Association, a certified school psychologist, and a licensed psychologist in New York State. In addition, he is a Fellow of Divisions 5 and 15 of the APA.
