  • Confidently Communicate Your Needs with Your Partner

Do you tend to downplay your needs or push things aside, thinking “It’s not such a big deal” or “It’s not worth getting into a disagreement about this right now and making it a bigger thing?”

Are you not voicing a need or a feeling unless it feels relevant to a bigger issue?

Are you taking care of everything for everyone else, ensuring everything remains harmonious and balanced?

    Your needs matter.

To authentically and confidently share your needs so that your partner can show up for you the way you desire, the foundation for connected communication must be set.

It’s easy to stay caught up in a cycle where you downplay your true needs (especially as empaths) because it’s “not that big of a deal,” simply because you want to avoid potential conflict.

Long-term, this only leads to more disconnect and feelings of isolation.

In this new series Conflict to Connection, we will be exploring how conflict can actually cultivate deeper intimacy in your relationship, and how to lean into it through deep and vulnerable communication.

Tune in to this first episode in the series to find out:

    * Why you are not addressing your needs or downplaying them, and you don’t even know it

    * If you are actually sharing your needs or if you’re just really good at talking a lot

    * Why you feel disconnected in your relationship and that it’s not about your partner (*gasp*)

    * Why being an empathetic person who meets everyone else’s needs actually makes it harder to meet your own

    * How to have the (difficult) conversation with your partner - and the mistake that you’re making when you’re sharing your needs

    Episodes in this series:

Ep 1/6: (Current Episode) Confidently Communicate Your Needs with Your Partner

Ep 2/6: Is It Really ALL About Communication?

Ep 3/6: How to Navigate Your Partners’ Upset — Without Taking It On

Ep 4/6: Can Conflict Strengthen Your Relationship?

Ep 5/6: How to Say What You Need in Love — Without Fear of Rejection or Pushback

Ep 6/6: You're Not ‘Too Much’: Stop Silencing Yourself to Keep the Peace

  • How to Stay Authentic to Yourself (around Family) During the Holidays

Have you ever noticed that you present a different version of yourself based on the social context? Similarly, do you notice that this also adjusts based on the group?

It is natural to adjust ourselves to fit in. It is a primal part of ensuring your survival. However, when we dig a little deeper, there is a thin line between fitting into the social group and actually adjusting who you are.

Through conditioning and socialization, your upbringing will have taught you not just what to do to fit in but WHO to BE.

Now, as we dive into the final episode of this four-part Holiday Relationship Dynamics Series, we are addressing just that: the masks you wear, the personas you present, and how you might be (unknowingly) playing these out in your family environments this holiday season.

Authenticity is an absolute “hype-word” as of late, however, it remains true, that the more fully you show up as yourself, the more aligned relationships you will cultivate.

Let’s talk about how you can do that this holiday season with your partners, parents, family, and beyond!

Tune into this final episode for:

    * Explore what it really means to “show up authentically” around family, friends, and loved ones, even in the most complex situations (and how your brain tries to stop you).

    * How to let go of social masks and “shoulds” to transform your holiday experience and create deeper connections.

    * Learn how to shift out of needing the situation around to be “good” for you to feel good internally.

    * Find out why you may very well be the BIGGEST trigger in your family, and how to navigate this by remaining true to yourself.

    * Discover how authenticity reduces stress and increases joy, making your time together feel meaningful and real.

  • Navigating Family Dynamics During the Holiday

In part three of the four-part “Holiday Relationship Series,” we are getting into navigating specific situations within your family this holiday season.

Whether you have lovely family connections, but sometimes find yourself getting so annoyed by your mom’s need to ask you a million times if you want something else to eat, or you are returning to some more challenging dynamics, this episode will give you a framework for navigating whatever arises.

Moreover, the dynamics at play might very well bleed into your own partnership, affecting or putting a strain on your relationship. Knowing how to communicate your needs and process your emotions, on your own and within your partnership, is going to be key to staying grounded and balanced.

In the end, your peace during this time is your priority. Holding space for your needs and desires, making time for rest, and allowing yourself to withdraw healthily, are all ways to honour yourself. Let’s talk about how you can lean into this.

In this episode, we’re diving into:

    * Discover why family gatherings can be challenging for relationships and bring out hidden insecurities or tension.

    * Learn how to set boundaries that protect you (and your relationship) from outside stressors, conflict or criticism.

    * Find out why some old family patterns still trigger you, even as an adult, and how to handle these moments with more compassion and emotional neutrality.

    * The reason why traditional boundary setting isn’t “enough” when it comes to successfully setting boundaries and standards (and why it feels hard AF to stick to them).

    * Two actionable strategies for Get strategies to feel supported and set boundaries that actually work, so you can navigate any situation that comes up, together.

  • Relationship Healing with the Winter Solstice

Next week, the winter solstice is upon us, marking the shortest day and the longest night. Although this might not seem like a topic that relates to inner healing and deepening relationship intimacy, it is a potent time.

Let me explain. One of the main themes I share here — especially on ESSENCE — is that the more you know and understand yourself, the more connection and intimacy you are able to cultivate in your relationships.

This is because you cannot explain or communicate what you do not yet understand. Part of knowing yourself is knowing your ebbs and flows within your cyclical nature. Here, I talk a lot about the menstrual cycle as an intuitive guidance system and communication tool. The seasons correlate to this cyclical energy, and present you with a guidance system for doing this deeper inner work.

This second episode in the four-part holiday trigger series is a beautiful way to connect to the seasonal energy and tune deeper within yourself. Press play to find out how you can use the potent portal of the winter solstice to do just that.

    In this episode:

    * Dive into the Winter Solstice as a perfect time for self-reflection and relational growth.

    * Learn how this season’s slower pace can help you and your partner explore deeper layers of connection.

    * Discover guided reflection questions to reveal unspoken needs, dreams, and challenges you can address together.

    * Find out how winter introspection can reveal what each of you needs for a truly supportive relationship in the coming year.

    * Uncover simple rituals and practices to renew your bond and create shared goals during this season of stillness.

  • Holiday Triggers: Recognizing and navigating relationship conflict

Welcome to the first episode in a 4 part holiday series on navigating relationship dynamics.

Whether you’re spending the holidays with family, your partner, or close friends (or celebrating something different at a completely different time of year), it’s only natural that these situations can bring up a lot.

Sometimes going back home can bring up triggers that make you question if all the “healing” you’ve been doing has changed anything at all (Trust me, it has, and we will talk about it!).

It can bring up tiffs with your partner around things you normally wouldn’t be irritated with, and suddenly there’s another divide.

It can also be a time for questions about marriage, kids, and relationships, which can be super triggering if you’re navigating avoidant or anxious attachment styles or ROCD.

Over the next 4 weeks, we’ll be talking about all this and more, like how you can tap into the seasonal energy of winter to deepen your connections and how to stop adjusting yourself to different situations.

In this episode, we’re talking about:

    * Why the holidays bring up unexpected emotional triggers in relationships, more than usual and often before you even realize it

    * Learn how to recognize anxiety-inducing patterns that surface around family gatherings and within your relationships

    * Discover tools to help you stay grounded and reduce emotional reactions before they take over.

    * Understanding the “why” behind your holiday stress can help you connect with your partner, rather than withdraw or lash out.

    * Find ways to reclaim holiday peace and turn stressful situations into opportunities for deeper intimacy and growth within your relationships

  • Understanding Your Shadows & Shadow Self

You know that part of yourself that you’ve pushed aside? The part you have been told is “too much” or the part of you that feels “too needy?”

The “shadow self” is the hidden or rejected aspect of who you are. These are often parts of yourself that you have learned to adjust or hide as you grew up, to fit in, receive love, or stay safe.

In the shadows lie your personal fears, unprocessed trauma, limiting beliefs, and even habits that you have developed to protect yourself within your relationship. Even if those protections are no longer necessary in your healthy relationship, they continue to be triggered and in turn, they run your default reactions and emotional responses.

In this week’s episode - and the third and final episode in the “relationship patterns 101” series - we are diving into everything that lies in the shadows, and how to heal it.

    Tune in for:

    * Dive into the shadow self—the hidden, often rejected parts that shape your relationship experiences.

    * Discover how your “shadow” drives emotional responses you can’t explain or control.

    * See why avoiding your shadow can make you attract the very dynamics you don’t want.

    * Learn how bringing these hidden parts to light can transform your relationship and deepen intimacy.

    * Start the journey to real healing by embracing all parts of yourself—even those you’d rather ignore.

Journal Prompts for Shadow Work Reflection:

    * What parts of yourself do you hide in relationships?

    * Can you remember a time when adjusting yourself felt necessary to be accepted?
