In 2011, a lot of people were still trying to crawl out of the debt that was brought on by the recession of 2007.  Richard Beasley saw this as an opportunity.  He would offer, single men, what some might consider the opportunity of a lifetime! they would be offered a free place to live, and would make $300 a week, and all they would have to do is help out around the farm, just come with all your valuable, and move in, and begin your dream job!  in the Craigs List ad that Richard took out, he even stated "this job will not last"

Unfortunately, this farm didn't exist.. So why was Richard taking out these Craigs Lists ads?     you'll have to listen to this episode to find out!  We'd love to hear your thoughts on this case @everythingscarypod      [email protected] Patreon.com//EverythingScaryPod571

Well, this is the 1st episode that we had to re-record because of saying things that did not age well.   This is the case of the amazing Denise Amber Lee, a 21 year old mother of two, who was taken right out of her home in the middle of the day.  Denise, was even able to steal the cell phone of her abductor for over 7 minutes….  As well as Denise’s brave effort, 3 more, separate calls were made to 911 to try and save this young mother.   What went so horribly wrong?  But led to something amazing; The Denise Amber Lee Foundation ❤️ please follow us on IG and let us know your thoughts on the case @everythingscarypod

HAPPY VALENTINES 💘

In late November of 2016,  a young mother of two, Sherri Papini went missing. After she failed to retrieve her kids from daycare, her husband really started to panic. And his panic only elevated, when he found his wife’s phone along a dirt road, with the couples wedding song ; Everything by Michael Buble playing on repeat.  The search was on, but after 22 days, sherri would reappear, running down the freeway with one of her hands zip tied to the giant chain that was around her waist.

Sherri had been horribly breaten, branded and burnt.  Her beautiful blonde hair had been chopped off and the word ‘exodus’ had been branded onto her shoulder.   Was this the work of two Latina women, as Sherri had claimed?   Or was this story more bizarre than anyone could have imagined.?

Ivan Milat, is often referred to, as Australia’s worst serial killer, or the backpack killer.  Ivan was one of 14 children in his family, 10 boys and 4 girls.  The authorities would refer to the Milat boys as ‘feral’. This guy is one of the worst, a dark cloud over a beautiful country.

I have to apologize to any Australian listeners. I do attempt to do the accent,  and, things got carried away. I will do better next time 🇦🇺🦘😳

On June 25th, 2007, on Monday night raw in Corpus Christi Texas. The show opens to Vince McMahon standing in an empty stadium, alone in the ring. He explains that in place of the previously planned story line, they would instead be paying tribute to WWE superstar Chris Benoit and his wife Nancy and 7 year old son Daniel. It wasn't until 26 hours later that the truth behind the tragedy would be known

You guys!!!!     This episode was actually the inspiration for the 2016 Zack Galafanakis movie, Masterminds.  Now, this movie had a 34% on Rotten Tomatoes.   BUT I think that may be, because of how silly the movie was,  which is ironic, because it’s kind of scary how close the true story is to the ridiculous movie.   There is an element of true crime.. obviously.   But, it is not a terrible true crime case.    This one goes out to all my friends who don’t like the scary true crime stuff.    Let me know what you think!

In this episode we sit through the painful interrogation of Ryan Waller.  On the evening of Christmas Day in 2006, Don Waller went to check on his 18 year old son, Ryan when he
no-showed for Christmas dinner. After failing to get eyes on Ryan, Don called for a welfare check.  When Ryan eventually answered the back door that led to the main bedroom, he looked as if he had been badly beaten in the face.  And even worse, his girlfriend Heather, lay dead in the living room.  If you are unaware of how this case unfolds see if you can figure out what is happening before a trained officer does. This is the interrogation of Ryan Waller and the death of Heather Quan.

This was one of the hardest stories I have told.   After, 12 year old Leslie and 16 year old Brookes Douglass were shot and left for dead in their own home, and having lost their beloved parents in the same incident. Their story was only just beginning. These two incredible individuals went on to really make a change in the world.  Their lives following the shooting plays out like a movie, And how the bad guys are eventually caught is utterly unbelievable.   This is the story of the survival of Brooks and Leslie Douglass.
