The World Health Organization released a statistic that depression was the leading cause of global disability.
Essentially people are more likely to become disabled in our world not from a physical illness but from a mental one.
Depression has many forms and I’m in no way qualified to speak on each of its forms. I can only speak from personal experience. There is a tie beteeen anxiety / worry and depression.
Yet worry is nothing new. When Dale Carnegie wrote the book “How to Stop Worrying & Start Living” he wrote it for the same reasons we have today.
Worry keeps us, at best from living our most authentic life, at worst to an early grave.
In this live video talk I talk about his first lesson in his book.

Living in day-tight compartments.
Peace and love my friends.

These 3 steps should be seen more like a daily practice, a moment to moment reminder if you find yourself getting down on yourself.
I am sure there are plenty more steps to true self-esteem, but these 3 in my experience are the 80/20 rule of getting there fastest. It’s my aim to write with both practicality and depth because if you can’t apply a truth, then it’s going to sit in the “understanding” department of your life and it won’t move into an experience.
Experience is the final teacher because it teaches what is true. So here are the 3 steps to true self-esteem.

There IS a difference between self-confidence & self-esteem.
And it's a massive difference.
In this episode, I walk you through the initial differences between self-confidence and self-esteem. We highly regard self-confidence in our society, yet have very little regard or instruction on healthy self-esteem.
What you'll begin to experience and know as truth is that when you focus on self-esteem, you don't worry about self- confidence. But when you focus on self-confidence- you'll never find have self-esteem.
Why does change seem to be so difficult? Why does it seem to always end the same way even if we have a short burst of success?
Change is possible, but it's helpful to know how it actually happens in real life.
You CAN change, you just need a new system.

Bronnie Ware wrote about her experience being a palliative care nurse and being with people as they die.
She truly got to know them at a very deep level, and they opened up to her about their life.
What she found was there were certain commonalities that the patients experienced and sadly one of those were their common regrets.
The most common was I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
This episode is walking through this regret, why it's there in our culture and how to make sure you avoid it by living truer to yourself.
As always this is a practical guide and it's encouraged to do some of the suggested action items to ensure you're integrating this into your own life.
peace & love to you

How is a dream different than a goal? How is a dream different than an intention?
In this episode I walk through one of the greatest speeches ever given, by one of the greatest men who ever lived, Martin Luther King, Jr.
There are a lot of lessons we can take from this brilliant man, and I hope it helps to inspire you to consider more than just a small change or goal you're wanting to accomplish, but to really fall in love with a dream.
There's also some interesting twist to the actual speech that I enjoyed learning about in my research.
A dream has the power to change history. Never underestimate the power of a dream, I'm thankful Martin Luther King Jr didn't.
I love you and I believe in you
Follow your heart,

There's a big difference between our big Imagination, with a capital I, and our small imagination.
What used to be our most wonderful gift has now turned against us in the form of anxiety and fear.
If you are experiencing a lot of anxiety and fear, chances are you already have a Vision - it's just one soaked in fear. It's future building the wrong way, and we ALL do it.
Anxiety is creating stress, and stress is causing depression. Depression is now the leading cause of Global disability, just a heart breaking statistic.
If you are struggling - just know you are not alone, and it's okay to consider getting help.
In this episode I talk about the way we can re-ignite our pure Imagination, which turns out out to be one of the most powerful forces on Earth and a very powerful anecdote for fighting anxiety and stress.
Happy 2020.
Take care of yourself
I love you,
Jake
I wanted to close out the last Christmas Spirit, the 4th chamber of the heart with love.
You can disregard the other 3 and get this one right and you will live a life beyond your imagination.
Love is the most powerful force in the universe, though to love anything is to be vulnerable.
How can we open our heart to love, but also avoid the pain that often comes from it?
This is a question that the history of humanity has grappled with, and some writers which I've included in this episode have a beautiful and powerful insight that you can bring into your own life.
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Take care,
Jake
You see it at the top of the Christmas cards you get from friends and family members. We yearn deeply for peace for our world yet so very often experience outside of our own homes.
In this episode I talk about the 3rd Christmas spirit, Peace and how maybe it's not "out there" as something to go and find but perhaps something inside that is already there within us.
I hope you enjoy this episode and I hope you have some time to connect to this specific Christmas spirit and as you do, I hope you know through experience, deep down, that it was in you all along.
Take care

Who doesn't want more Joy?
In this episode I walk through my own experience of what Joy is and how I've seen it show up in my own life.
Joy goes beyond happiness - goes beyond circumstances. Joy arises, and it arises from inside of us because it's always there, we just have to let go and get out of the way.
I hope you enjoy this episode and experience this powerful Christmas Spirit over the next week.
Take care
Jake
