In chapters 29-37, we cover some of the most heartbreaking and high-stakes chapters in the entire Kindred’s Curse Saga so far, and it all starts with MURDER. Andrei Bellator is dead. And his death isn’t just personal for Diem – it’s political. It’s violent. And it’s very much a message.

Nicole and Lexi dive into the fallout: from Diem’s explosion of god-level power (hello crater of godstone) to her emotionally devastating showdown with her father just hours before he’s murdered. We’re talking grief, rage, shaky alliances, explosive council meetings, and multiple possible murder suspects – including the Guardians, the Hanoverres, House Benette, and even House Corbois. Trust no one.

Lexi unpacks Diem’s spiral into mistrust and numbness, and how her emotional unraveling mirrors (and diverges from) Henri’s. Nicole takes a hard look at the political manipulation Diem’s facing—especially from Remis and Evrim—and how she uses strategy over rage to reclaim control by the end of the episode. And then there's that final scene: Diem standing before House Hanoverre and declaring she will protect all of Emarion—mortal and Descended alike. This is Diem at her most shattered—and her most powerful.

We’ve officially reached The Ascension Ball, and if Diem thought dancing was going to be the hardest part of the night, she was very, very wrong.

Chapters 24-28 are packed to the brim with chaos: Henri shows up (again), Diem sends him to the dungeons, and we get politics, petty squabbles, fashion power plays, and full-on magical espionage - all before dessert. Aemonn is peacocking all over the ballroom in white and gold jacquard, Luther is seething and somehow still being emotionally supportive, and Henri is, well, spiraling in a doublet that doesn’t fit.

We’re back and diving headfirst into the start of Glow of the Everflame! In chapters 1-7, Diem is spiraling (understandably) - she’s just been crowned Queen of Lumnos (what???), she’s naked in front of Luther way too many times for someone she’s “totally not into,” and she’s trying very hard to pretend she’s definitely still mortal. (Spoiler: She is not.)

Nicole breaks down how Diem's panic spiral leads to some pretty heartbreaking realizations, especially around Henri, Andrei, and how completely untethered she feels from her old life.
