FantasyPros - Fantasy Football Podcast

Pat Fitzmaurice from TheFootballGirl.com joins the show today to discuss some players whose ADPs are either too low or too high. Is Jordan Reed's (17:00) relatively high ADP actually warranted? Are both the public and the experts still too high on Julian Edelman (26:33) despite his already low ranking and draft cost? What should fantasy owners make of Jamaal Williams (42:55)? Can Rex Burkhead (46:17) have a consistent role in the oft-unpredictable Patriots' backfield? Is there a safer receiver in Detroit than Marvin Jones (54:24)? We offer insight into all these questions and tackle many others in today's episode.

We discuss our favorite deep sleepers heading into the season, many of whom usually go undrafted. Ricky Seals-Jones was very good in limited playing time last year (8:40), Sam Bradford may have QB1 potential (17:34), and Mike Williams is far too overlooked in drafts (20:05). Plus, Jordan Wilkins has the skills to win the Colts' starting RB job (36:46), and Geronimo Allison (49:02) starts for an offense with "the greatest quarterback in the history of the world."

Today, we spend most of the show giving our top fantasy football hot takes, but first, we discuss who fantasy owners should expect to step up in Buffalo if LeSean McCoy is unable to play (06:34). Some of the scorching hot takes mentioned are Kareem Hunt finishing outside the top-20 RBs (11:57), Jordan Howard not leading the Bears' backfield in fantasy points (28:30), and Alex Smith producing more fantasy points than Jimmy Garoppolo (36:52). We later follow that up with in-depth analysis on the pros and cons of drafting Greg Olson (43:37) and Alex Collins (50:24).

Sirius XM Fantasy Radio host and Her Fantasy Football co-founder, Brandon Marianne Lee, joins us to examine which players are most worth reaching for. Before we get to the meat of the show, the gang tackles your always interesting Listener Mailbag questions (13:05). Later on, we go in-depth on Royce Freeman (32:07), ponder why Michael Gallup is still largely undervalued (48:30), and explain why Sammy Watkins may be worth buying shares of again (53:42). Towards the end, we are mystified at how Geronimo Allison is still often going undrafted (1:00:41) and rationalize why Sony Michel should be taken much higher (1:11:26).

2017's top draft expert, Jake Ciely, joins the show to discuss which players have great boom or bust potential. We kick off our discussion on polarizing players by analyzing the expectations for Jimmy Garoppolo (8:22). Later, we break down the upside and risk of Pat Mahomes (13:51), if expectations should be tempered on Rashaad Penny (27:16), what to make of the Packers' RB situation in light of Aaron Jones' suspension (34:53), Allen Robinson's "boom" potential (44:07), if Evan Engram can reproduce his surprising rookie season (57:17), and whether O.J. Howard's production can finally match his talent (1:02:12).

The Fantasy Footballers' Jason Moore joins us to discuss which players should be avoided in drafts. Deshaun Watson (3:03), Derrick Henry (20:51), and Allen Robinson (44:37) are being taken too high, but we disagree on whether Leonard Fournette (29:46) should be avoided. We also give our insight on intriguing topics, like if Lamar Jackson is worth a flier (17:02), what Sony Michel's upside is (32:50), and whether DeAndre Hopkins is actually being overvalued (53:12).

Summer is officially here and that just means we're getting closer to the fantasy football season. If you haven't run a mock draft recently, we've got your back and you can see how our teams turn out as Bobby and Tags pick from the sixth and seventh slots in a 12-team, Half-PPR league. Saquon Barkley (12:09) and Mike Evans (14:41) are the first two picks for both guys, but things start looking different from there. Find out why we're high on a pair of rookies in Sony Michel (25:39) and Ronald Jones (32:09), why Latavius Murray is one of the best handcuffs (46:06), if Bilal Powell is finally going to be a workhorse (47:27), and will Terrelle Pryor surprise fantasy players (55:56).

We're back to break down the recent minicamps and Greg Smith from TwoQBs.com is joinings us to discuss potential fantasy impact. Is Tyrod Taylor primed to become Cleveland's de facto starting QB (4:05)? If so, then what might that mean for Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon (10:33)? With Andrew Luck throwing footballs once again (15:49), how high will his ADP climb (20:16), and how much upside will Eric Ebron have as a result (22:03)? We then spend the rest of the show answering some intriguing Listener Mailbag questions (27:58), like whether fantasy owners should be concerned about the Cardinals' offense (45:42), how early Lamar Miller should now be taken in drafts (55:50), and what our favorite two-quarterback combos are (1:03:09).
