Bradford (Ep. 33) returns!!!  It's been one year since we talked and one year of sobriety for him.  Soon after our last talk, he moved to LA (after 13 years in Seattle) and has been rebuilding his life ever since.  He gave up his three greatest loves: his ex, alcohol and crystal meth, but now he has an overwhelming support system and the cosmos is telling him it likes him better sober.  But what's it like to be sober, single, gay and almost 39 years-old in a city like Los Angeles???  Often it seems like sobriety will solve all of our problems, but that's often not the case; the struggle is real.

My ex-partner of 6 years and I haven't talked much since we broke up 5 years ago.  In this BONUS episode, we re-connect and talk about all the heavy stuff.  Plus, I get some closure??? 

For most of my life, I wasn't open about my struggles and I didn't talk about my feelings--this person had to experience emotionally void Kye.  I also identified as a cis-het male at this time...  WEIRD!  And, not surprisingly, I was unaware that I was depressed (despite being suicidal and unable to leave the house many days) and was diagnosed a year after our breakup (with G.A.D., major depression and B.P.D.

Lola (Med Student; Brazil) was psychologically and sexually abused by a trusted family member for ten years when she was young.  As a teen. her first romantic relationship was emotionally abusive and in her early 20's, she was raped by a stranger.  She lived in constant fear for over ten years until one day she decided she NEEDED to speak up about it (or else she might explode).  Lola was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder in her 20's.  She's now in medical school, soon to be a doctor, and has found healing in speaking about her experience with abuse.  This is her story.
