I was sitting in the bath, looking out the window and saw what I THOUGHT was a huge eagle in the sky. "JACKPOT!" I whispered to myself. (Side note: I'm an avid bird watcher. I have two bird feeders in my backyard and two nests in my front yard. Something about them just fascinates me!). When a couple seconds later, I realized it was a freaking plane. So I wondered, if the Wright Brothers (the inventors of the plane) can look to nature to mimic something as remarkable as flying…why can't we look to nature for answers to fertility? I mean – she's called MOTHER nature for a reason, right? So in this week's podcast, you're going to learn: 5 fertility secrets mother nature has for you, to help you conceive your baby 🌳You'll learn: How these secrets will relieve you ALL the guilt that you acquire on the baby-making journey. Why it's more important than EVER to connect with nature. The easiest and most effective way to connect with her. Mother Nature is here - right in front of you – filled with secrets to show you the way to your baby. You just gotta wake up the wisdom inside of you by learning about how she works. How she plays. How she rests. It's soooo fucking beautiful. Listen now mama-bear.
What happens when we wait for something outside of us to tell us we're doing enough, we have enough or we are enough? It becomes a very vicious cycle. A cycle of being vulnerable, putting your hopes and dreams out into the world - and then giving ALL of the power…the "did I do good enough this time?" to something or someone else. EVEN THOUGH you have the power inside of you - EVEN THOUGH you have the capabilities to uncover, deep down, that the truth is that you are worthy and enough no matter what - you've given your power to someone or something outside of you. How you see yourself, is what shapes your world. And if you can begin to lean into your worthiness now - the world will respond accordingly. Listen to this podcast to learn how to feel enough and worthy now.
Do you often imagine a more disciplined, put together, "perfect" version of yourself – and think, "Once I get my shit together and be more like her, THEN I'll get pregnant."? But no matter how many times you change your diet. No matter how many different workouts you try. No matter how many fertility meditations you listen to on YouTube…you always seem to fall short of this flawless version of you. Because you ALWAYS find something wrong with her. Something that needs fixing. But here's the deal…Who you're striving to become…this perfectly put together self… she ain't coming. Because perfection is totally and completely unattainable. Although your monkey mind wants you to believe that perfection has your best interest at heart – trying to convince you that once you reach a certain point THENNNN you'll be good enough to get pregnant – although you've believed this thought to be healthy and good for you, perfection is a moving target. There is no such thing as "good enough" in the deceptive game of perfection. And if you continue to believe that "everything needs to be perfect, in order for me to get pregnant." then this will be your reality. In today's brand new podcast, you'll learn how to let go of the impossible standards of perfection, so that you can let go of all the conditions you place on yourself and embrace being and feeling enough NOW.
One of the biggest triggers my client's face are pregnancy announcements. On our coaching calls, it goes something like, "I want to be happy for them. And I am! Really Spenser…I am. But I can't help but feel jealous and more alone than ever." And without awareness. Without mind-body work… these announcements can make you feel like a human punching bag while on the journey to your baby. It can take you from love, confidence and trust -> to feeling like a popped, deflated, wrinkled up balloon, in T-minus 2 seconds. As a Life Coach, I see these kind of "triggers" or "set-backs" as opportunities for change and transformation. In fact, I like to think of triggers as the Universe shining a flashlight on these events, as an answer to your prayers. So, in today's brand new podcast – we're going to explore the trigger of comparison. And mama-bear, it's magic. Because what comparison is, is basically a huge set of lies. You have a choice on whether or not you want your fertility journey to be run by these lies – or trade them in for a set of TRUTHS to make your mind and body feel more ready than EVER to make your baby. Gone are the days where you are over-taken for days, weeks or even months by someone else's pregnancy announcement. There is a way through it. Listen now!
A couple weeks ago I sent an email to my hubby Dan – and asked him if he'd like to be the first official guest on the Fertile Ground podcast (!!!) And he literally came downstairs (yes, he was just upstairs when I sent the email) and had the CUTEST grin on his face and was absolutely honored to be able to share his perspective of the fertility journey. The intention of this podcast is to include your lovely partner in on the inner-workings and wisdom of the mind-body connection. Because I can honestly say that the biggest catalyst to my husband and I finally getting pregnant, was because of the vulnerable and powerful conversations that we had together. Which we could not have done, without learning what we are going to teach you both today. SO – grab your partner and listen together. Or forward this podcast to him/her. And get ready to create Fertile Ground – together – for your baby.
Are you ever on a roll with your life?...You're workin' out, eating pretty well, tying up loose-ends at work, and feeling confident about this cycle – TO THEN have it all come crashing down after bingeing on Mcdonalds and vodka sodas at 1AM last Saturday night? The momentum and self-love about things feeling pretty awesome, have disappeared. And replaced with guilt and preparation to get your period. If this is a pattern in your life - the, "Holy shit. Things are feeling GREAT right now!" to then doing something that triggers the, "NEVERMIND – everything's back to normal." …Then you may be dealing with a case of self-sabotaging behavior. Self-sabotaging behavior is subconscious behavior that's triggered by feelings of too much good. It's what our monkey mind convinces us to do to protect ourselves from "getting our hopes up" – yet only keeps us stuck in re-creating our past. We don't do it on purpose. It's super hidden in the subconscious. But you're gonna learn to access it and let it go today in the BRAND NEW PODCAST!
Ever compare your body to the women standing next to you in line at the Starbucks and think, "Man, I wonder what she eats. How often does she exercise? What size is she really?!" Let's be real, your monkey mind is making it mean that her body is more attractive, more healthier, more in control and that she's happier than you right? Which creates the whole shaming-blaming-judging games which lead to depriving yourself or over-eating. And maybe even looking at yourself in the mirror…naked…and calling your body words I won't even mention. All because of comparison. As you get conscious of the incessant need to compare that our culture/the media/the fashion industry has instilled in us, you realize that all of these thoughts your monkey mind is making up about her body in comparison to yours - isn't really true. If you want to change the relationship with your body to either get pregnant or lose the weight naturally...it all starts with your thoughts. Listen to this weeks podcast as I coach myself back to loving my body, after a MIND-GAME of comparison while I was dealing with this myself, after living in a bikini on vacation. Listen now to love your body mama-bear.
How many times have you been told, "Don't get your hopes up!". If you're anything like me..LOTS! Every time I decided to do something outside of the norm that seemed "too good to be true" for other people, I was told it probably wouldn't happen. While on the fertility journey, you might even start to believe this BS lie. Because after months or years of the pregnancy not happening, you choose not to get excited about it. To protect yourself. But what if we shifted our perception of hope? What if you decided to get your hopes all the way up, not for a circumstance, but the FEELING you believe that circumstance will bring you - and ultimately attract your desired circumstance, to come to you?! Learn exactly how to create this magic in this weeks podcast. Listen now mama-bear!
Asking for what you want seems like a pretty straight-forward thing for a human to do. You want something, so you ask for it. But then…why are we, especially as women, so afraid to ask for what we want? Why don't we ask for the raise? Why do we do all the housework, when our partner sits at the couch? Why is it so hard to ask your client to buy from you? In today's podcast, you'll learn why we resist asking for what we want, how much your life will change when you start asking, and how it will make you fall in love with yourself. Don't waste another day of your life withholding the ask. Listen to this podcast. Your self-worth will thank you for it.
The art of doing nothing, which Italians describe as "La Dolce Far Niente" is a way of life, where you consciously create space in your day to do nothing. In a culture dominated by plans, goals and accomplishments - this sounds unproductive, lazy and a waste of time. But from a mind-body connection prospective, it is one of the most productive things you can do for your mental, physical and spiritual health. Doing nothing doesn't mean sitting in stillness all day. It's just time spent unplanned, where you let your inspiration guide the day. Without the pressure, the weight, and the guilt of what you "should" be doing - you allow for spontaneity, for presence and for rest. All of which shift your body into a parasympathetic state - ideal for reproduction. Listen now to invite La Dolce Far Niente into your life!
