Fight Disciples Podcast

UFC 263 is well and truly upon us and could deliver the best card of the year.

We have two world title fights and a five round none title fight featuring one of the biggest stars in the sport against one of our own British stars.

Leon Edwards has had turbulent 15 or so months in the UFC but it could all become worthwhile if his star is launched on Saturday against Nate Diaz.

There's also PFL and Bellator to get excited about and a card from the weekend to review.

All aboard...

We have absolutely no problem what so ever with the greatest boxer of his generation taking part in what he classes as a legalised bank robbery.

How that 'bank robbery' is sold to the fans is where our concern begins.

Mayweather vs Paul takes up some conversation on todays show as does the return to winning ways of Daniel Dubois.  Nathan Heaney stole the show this weekend though as we can't get that Tom Jones song out of our heads!

Quiet week this week with there being no fights to review but there is a new season of TUF getting under way.

Volkanovski vs Ortega is a tremendous fight but will the build up make compelling TV viewing?

We also preview this weekends fight card in the UFC.

Age is nothing but a number!

The 'Filipino Flash' Nonito Donaire, at 38 years of age, rolled back the years to put serious manners on Nordine Oubaali and become the WBC Bantamweight world champion.  A truly tremendous performance from him and an equally elite level showing from the referee Jack Reiss.

Devin 'The Dream' Haney came through a rough last few rounds against Jorge Linares to retain his unbeaten record at the weekend. What next? We discuss.

We also talk about that interview from John Fury.

What performances from Rob Font and Carla Esparza at the weekend.

Font put on a clinic against former world champion Cody Garbrandt whilst Carla Esparza went full savage in her big to regain UFC gold which is surely the opportunity that awaits her next.

Charles Oliveira is the new lightweight world champion.

28 fights into his UFC career, the Brazilian got the job done, but had to show a huge set of spuds to survive an onslaught in the first round against Michael Chandler.

We review the whole of UFC262 and look ahead to this weeks cracker involving Cody Garbrandt and Rob Font.

Houston, Texas, is the destination for UFC 262 and one man has the opportunity to etch his name in history if he becomes the new lightweight world champion.

In only his second UFC fight Michael Chandler has hit the franchise like a rocket and a win over Charles Oliveira would send his star power into orbit on Saturday night.

It's a. stacked card to preview.

We also look back at Bellator from the weekend and what we do next with Cowboy Cerrone who lost again at the weekend.
