Fight Disciples Podcast

Jacksonville Florida is the destination for UFC249.

Dana White has announced one of the most competitive stacked cards of recent times to get the MMA community pumped up for the UFC's return on May 9th.

We discuss the full card, how fight island might end up looking and what that means for non American based fighters.

Boxing returned at the weekend with two cards in two locations.

South Korea gave us an insight into what fights may look like closer to home in the not too distant future whilst Nicaragua continued to be oblivious to the world wide health scare we are all facing.

We compare the two cards as well as discussing the WBC's decision to reinstate Devin Haney as their lightweight world champion.

Tony Ferguson is a different breed.

Putting himself through the weight cutting process for a fight that was cancelled shows the mentality of the man.

We discuss that, fight island and the possibility of the UFC striating back up on May 9th.

Noise is gathering in the states that we will see live boxing by the end of May.

Certain state athletic commissions are holding conversations with major promotors about the possibility of starting up 'behind closed doors' within the next month or so.

We discuss that, Devin Haney's racial slur and reminisce about our trip to New York this time last year.

Darren Till is having a right time on social media during lock down so we thought we'd give him a bel to add a little light relief to our day.

On the agenda...

Tiger King, Big Les, Peppa Pig, How much his teeth cost and Rob?

The saga is finally over (for now)

UFC 249 is no longer happening after more twists and turns than a high speed car chase.  Dana insists fight island will happen down the line and every fighter is on board!

We discuss another mad week with the UFC.

There's nothing else to talk about so thank the lord for Carl Froch.

Last week, The Cobra, said he would come out of retirement for a fight with Joe Calzaghe.  Joe responded by saying he can't believe that he still lives in Carl's head.  We got stuck into the banter as well as discussing Devin Haney becoming the 2 time email champion of the world!

The full card for UFC249 has been announced.

Tony Ferguson will now face Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title and there will be a host of stellar fights.  In fact, its a phenomenal card, especially so under the circumstances, but its those circumstances that cause debate.  Should 249 be going ahead given the current climate?

We discuss.

Social Media can be fantastic for a fighter to build their profile.  It's there to engage with fans, to build an audience which can be translated later into ticket sales.  It can also have the opposite effect.

With Billy Joe Saunders having his BBBoC licence suspended following a recent social media post we ask should Billy come off social media all together as it does him more harm than good.

We also discuss potential restart dates following the corona virus and Kell Brook pops in for some positive vibes.

With Coronavirus shutting down the world we resort to bringing you our weekly MMA show from two separate locations because we are taking very seriously the advice given to us from the government.

Khabib has shut down any talk of him and Tony happening at 249 whilst Jon Jones continues to be Jon Jones.
