Filthy Casuals with Tommy Dassalo and Ben Vernel

We're just two incredibly long and arduous weeks away from new consoles coming out and quite frankly: I am excited. Big resolutions, beautiful graphics, buzzy and buttony controllers, boy oh boy it's a bevvy of bgood bconsoles. We've had a look at hands-on videos that are trickling onto the internet and we have thoughts to share. Would we have liked to get our hands on consoles ourselves? Yes. Have we? No. Are we furious an incensed? Yes, but that was already the case. It's a very exciting time in video games and we're very excited about at whether it takes a couple more weeks than we would have liked to actually get our hands on the things. Speaking of which, we also talk the Cyberpunk 2077 delay, and a whole bunch more. New consoles.

Mario Kart goes AR, all three of the Filthy boys have gone VR, it's hard to tell what's real and what's not these days. Did we actually record this, or are we now those AI generated voices you can do using computers? And like, even if we are AIs, like, what's the difference, man? If it's intelligence then like, what does it matter if it's artificial y'know? Aren't we, like, all artificial? In a way? Makes you think, in my opinion. We talk some Superhot, some Half-Life: Alyx, and a whole bunch more on this here episode of Filthy Casuals... or, like, DO we? You know what I mean? Crazy, dude.

This week Tommy announces to the world that He Is Dead, Ben spends a lot of money on an expensive toy that you strap on to your body in order to have fun, and Adam spends too little time thinking about how to make discussions on I Am Dead and the new Oculus headset sound a bit funny in the episode description. We've also got a bunch more chat on the new consoles that are now less than a month away, which is officially Ridiculous, and more bits and pieces to go with.

In my opinion, this episode is CRATE! Hahaha hell yeah. Ok now read that back to me. Oh god ok no take out the crate bit.

Tommy, Ben and Adam are going a little under the radar this week with reviews and chat about indie open-world detective game Paradise Killer, free-to-play Breath of the Wild """tribute""" Genshin Impact,

Japanese visual novel/adventure/strategy game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and a little underground game that definitely doesn't have millions of viewers on Twitch called Among Us. We're pretty cool like that actually, kind of finding out about things first? You probably wouldn't have heard of most of these. Oh, you play Call of Duty? That's cute. I'm more into mass market appeal action RPGs from one of the largest video game developers in the world's most populous country. Yeah, you wouldn't get it.

The jumpy little plumber is back to show off some of his best ever plumbing jobs to a new generation, and the big black and white boxes are here to show off a new generation to some people who may need to take on some extra plumbing jobs to afford the huge amount of good video game stuff that is coming out very soon. If you are able to actually get your hands on any of it, of course. Tommy, Ben and Adam have gotten their hands on more than just Mario and Microsoft this week though, as they talk about the Big Bethesda Buyout, the Newest Nintendo Newsreel, the Coming Console Clash and Htommy Hand Hben Hlike Hplaying Hades.

Guide a dynasty through the centuries, ensuring the security and power of each new generation. That's literally the synopsis of Crusader Kings 3, Ben's new obsession, AND the mission statement of Sony and Microsoft as they prepare to release their new consoles. Wow, that really did line up quite well. Let's see what the next sentence in the synopsis is: Gather new lands and titles to cement your legacy. Ok well that could refer to games (titles) so that sort of works too. Anyway, we talk about the PS5 in depth, give brief reviews of Avengers and Crusader Kings, and mention our PAX Online panel from today as well. That'll do, punch it up if you like Adam. -Editor's note: Thanks, Ben.

Tony Hawk is back, Mario is still around, the new Xboxes are nearly here, Tommy is nearby, Ben has recently been here and Adam is a little late but that's ok it's just how he is, he's doing his best. The description for this episode is also right here and hey, look at you! You're here too, reading it. What are the chances? I hope you enjoy this episode, it's a good one and the hard time I'm clearly having coming up with something interesting to write here in no way reflects upon the quality of the episode, which once again: is good.

Originally released in 1997, Episode 254 of Filthy Casuals with Tommy Dassalo, Ben Vernel and Adam Knox was exclusively available in Japanese. Several fan translation projects were started, but none made it past a few minutes of work, as the translators began to realise that the episode was no in fact in Japanese, but rather a broken form of mock Japanese that was considered edgy, but still generally okay when the episode released in 1997. Since then, fans have been calling for an English translation of the episode, citing that "they should never have been doing the Japanese voices in the first place, this is so wrong." and "what the actual fuck is this?" Now, more that 20 years later, we are proud to announce the release of Filthy Casuals Episode 254 in English. Please enjoy!

A crazed psychopath with a high, whining voice. A secretive and vengeful billionaire. An alien who blends in with the population of Earth and has lived through things which would destroy a normal man. That's right, I'm talking about Harley Quinn, Batman and Superman who are being discussed this week by Tommy, Ben and Adam. As we come even closer to complete and total loss of our minds, we find the time to have a very original whinge about the quality of some of DC's multimedia, a separate whinge about Destiny 2 and the ethics of cutting content, but then a very positive conversation about A Short Hike and Manifold Garden, for which Adam does not get involved. It's the classic Filthy Casuals formula applied to another week of gaming news and reviews. Please enjoy, please stay safe and sane.
