We are 24 hours away from kickoff for Arizona State Sun Devils football! It's week three of the 2022 season and the final game of the schedule before the Sun Devils begin PAC-12 conference play against some pretty talented teams including the Utah Utes and USC Trojans. But first, Arizona State needs to take care of business at home against the Eastern Michigan Eagles football program. The Eagles currently sit at 1-1 on the year, but this will be their first game of the season against a Power Five school, and the Sun Devils, despite a 1-1 start to the 2022 season, have shown the ability to be a rock-solid competitor. Eastern Michigan will be relying on its offense to put up points behind quarterback Taylor Powell's arm, but their starting quarterback and his weapons like Samson Evans and David Drummond have been inconsistent in their first two games of the year. That does not bode well for an Arizona State Sun Devils football defense that's playing with confidence and swagger behind the performances of Kyle Soelle, Nesta Jade Silvera, Chris Edmonds, and co. Defensively, the Eagles will have their hands full with a unit lacking a true difference-maker while the Sun Devils have superstars like Xavavian Valladay ready to dominate. If Emory Jones can take his next step forward as a passer and firmly establish some chemistry with his weapons, then the Sun Devils may finally be able to field a complete offense capable of scoring in more ways than one.
