Among these changes will be a new starting quarterback Emory Jones in his first career game with the Sun Devils. He is joined by a new-look offense that will feature a power run game featuring newcomer Xazavian Valladay and third-year man Daniyel Ngata. Defensively, Arizona State will see some familiar faces manning the middle of the field in team captains Merlin Robertson and Kyle Soelle. The defensive line faces a massive makeover, but stalwarts like Omarr Norman-Lott, Tautala Pesefea Jr., and 2021 leading sack artist B.J. Green will look to generate a consistent pass rush. The secondary will be missing both Timarcus Davis and Jordan Clark for injury reasons, leaving guys like Ed Woods and Ro Torrence in line for large roles.
