By using the acronym CHEER, we are going to take a look at some practical and Bibical ways that we can slow down and focus on our MAN! (And hopefully put a little spark back in our marriages.)

Book recommendation: When a Women Inspires Her Husband by Cindi McMenamin

    Book of the Week:
When a Woman Inspires Her Husband: Understanding and Affirming the man in your life

I read this book a few years ago and as I pulled it out to look at for this episode, it reminded me how powerful this book is. I am putting it on my "to-read" again list!! The author Cindi, spends a considerable amount of time sharing wisdom and advice from other women on how to love and inspire their husbands. There are so many practical ideas that we rooted and grounded in Scripture. I highly recommend this book to all wives - especially if you feel like that Spark has gone out or diminished in your marriage!

  • Hf #28: Memorizing God’s Word So You Can Truly Cherish Christ
We kicked off this discussion in episode #25, with the talk about how important God's Word is and some ideas for daily Bible reading plans. But we are not to just ingest God’s Word, we are to digest it, meditate on it, and let it transform our lives. Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to do this!

Joshua 1:8 says, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

In today's episode we are going to cover the importance of memorizing God's Word, how we can come to truly cherish his Word (and through that - treasure Christ himself), and some easy methods for memorizing! Listen to the episode here:

    Book of the Week:
Women Living Well by Courtney Joseph

This book was a total surprise for me! I had no idea what to expect from this book, and to be honest, I wasn’t expecting a lot. I don’t know why. The title just seemed so vague and I think I was expecting it to be fluffy and not full of a ton of solid content. But boy was I wrong! This was one of my favorite books I’ve read this year!

The tag line is Finding Your Joy in God, Your Man, Your Kids, and Your Home. Every homemaker should read this book at some point! The book is broken into 4 main parts: Your walk with God, your marriage, your parenting and your homemaking. In every section I felt encouraged and also convicted about how I spend my time, respond to my husband, respond to me kids, and more. If you are looking for a good book on Biblical Womanhood, then I highly recommend you get a copy of Women Living Well!
“I would like to believe that the Proverbs 31 woman may not have enjoyed every second of spinning her thread. It was mundane, hard work. In the same way, we may not enjoy every minute of cleaning toilets or folding underwear, but I think we all will admit that we love the feel of clean sheets on the bed, fresh towels in the bathroom, bathed babies in clean pajamas, and a warm meal on The result of our hard work is a blessing to everyone how enters our home.” – Women Living Well, page 171
