Without further ado, here is Vy.
Success is going after what I thought I couldn’t do and then either meeting/superseding my expectations or learning a critical lesson from the process of going after the goal.
Conscientious, enthusiastic, inconstant because I can get hyper-focused on achievements, optimistic about success, and love change.
Don’t say “It’s too hard because someone else will do it and be proud of it.”
I dislike public speaking or presentations.
Take risks, there are so many years ahead to try, learn, and do things again if they don’t work out the way you expected.
Patience.
Steve Jobs and Princess Diana if they were still alive, and Barack Obama because I admire the innovative, humanitarian and leadership qualities and accomplishments I know of them.
MOXIE means knowing the talent you’ve created in yourself and using it to effect positive change in others.
A perfect day would be waking up to a cup of coffee and bacon. Followed by an early morning paddle, run, or weight lifting session, then a great workday organizing a major project filled with unknowns and then making sense of what to do next, then steak, crab and a glass of red wine for dinner, then a walk by the ocean or in the mountains with my furry babes.
Evolve because it’s once again time to grow myself and change!

Carla is passionate about bringing people and ideas together. She is a writer, yogini (who needs to do more yoga), mom, wife, and friend to many.
Carla Hayes is an experienced content marketing strategist who pairs creativity and big-picture thinking with strategic planning and execution to create holistic campaigns that move the needle on business goals. She has a gift for matching the message to the audience, a passion for empowering women, and a yoga side-hustle.
A two-time graduate of Rutgers University and former varsity rower, Carla is a born and raised “Jersey Girl” who recently moved her whole family to California where they are experimenting with a west-coast lifestyle and doing a lot of hiking with their dog, Blitzen.
During our chat, we talk about taking time to recognize what you are good at, the things you are thankful for, and the things you are proud of… and how she uses this in many aspects of her life and work. She also shares about her passion for yoga and what it has taught her about herself!
Without further ado, here’s Carla!
I am successful when I open someone’s mind to a new idea.
I feel really successful when do that by creating the opportunity for amazing women in the Coldwell Banker brand to share their stories – either through a podcast, blog post or speaking opportunity.
Curious/Thoughtful: When I’m involved in a project I really like to dig in and understand it from all perspectives.
Forward-Thinking: My goal is always to leave a thing better than I found it. A project, a person, the world (!)
Passionate: I’m interested in a lot of things, but when something hooks me beyond mere curiosity, I throw my whole self into it.
“Done is better than perfect.” I tend to want to think and think and think and plan before taking action because I don’t want to be wrong or do something less than 110%. Sometimes that backfires and I wind up doing something 0% because I miss the opportunity. Still working on this one :)
I finalized adoptions for 11 children and placed maybe a dozen others in what would eventually become their forever families. My first career was as a social worker, doing adoption case work for the state of NJ.
So much!
Don’t be so concerned about what other people think of or expect from you. I love the quote, “Other people’s opinon of me is none of my business.”
There is no secret meeting you’re missing out on. No one has all the answers; and there are answers you have that other people are looking for.
Take a risk.
A daily meditation or gratitude practice.
Catherine O’Hara. I have always loved her, but I am currently obsessed with her character Moira Rose. I would LOVE to know more about how she created something so unique.
Stephen King. He has created an entire universe (worlds upon worlds) that connect and influence each other. I’m so in awe of how he orchestrated those parts to all fit together.
Billie Jean King. This is a new one. I was so impressed by her at NAR I want to hear more about her story and her perspective on equality.
It means being unapologetically yourself and letting your light shine.
Yoga. Outdoor time with my husband and kids. Finish with drinks with my favorite 5-10 people.
Explore-mode. This is a mindset that I adopted when we moved to California and it was a way for me to let go of outcomes (specifically around travel and moving with the kids) but I’ve found that it was really helpful and I’m trying to hang on to it.

Lionesses, are you bringing the real you to the outside world or do people see one thing while you live with dreams and desires buried within you?
It’s time to get REAL about this very thing with entrepreneur and podcaster, Elisha Alcantara! A self-made badass from the ground up, she’s on a mission to educate others on how to make lasting life changes that lead to becoming their own success stories.
Elisha has started real estate companies, a construction firm, a podcast, and a non-profit focused on housing homeless families. Through her failures in business and life, she has learned how to live from the inside out instead of from the outside in. She understands the life-altering difference this makes and is passionate to share this with others in the hopes they will live a calmer, more fulfilled life. She lives in Portland, OR with her two bright and beautiful kiddos Grace and Bradley, and she’s the kind of mom who’ll hold a tarantula just to make her kids happy.
Whatever you’re secretly feeling or going through, you can live a happier, more connected, more confident life by following her method. Come as you are and learn the steps to get REAL so you can start living the life you imagine.
During our chat, we talk about the new real estate brand she is about to launch because of WomanUP!® – Kinected Realty. And how she is also opening a co-work space for amazing female entrepreneurs called Kinected Spaces!
UPDATE: Life has taken a major turn. Since we recorded this chat – the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Growth and launch plans are on HOLD.
Keep in touch with Elisha here: https://www.instagram.com/elishaalcantara/
my inside feelings match my outside appearance
Energy. Resilient. Confident.
Energy – I’m a huge believer and feeler of energy and it’s the thing people feed off of me the most.
Resilient – Things don’t really knock me down…I pause, get clarity, and then proceed with new plans…ALL the time.
Confident – I’m so wholly connected from the inside out that I don’t need external validation or affirmation to determine my worth.
I don’t “try” anything…I “do!”
Having determination and grit
Rebuild.
I imploded everything in my life over the last 2 years because it wasn’t serving me. My word for 2018 was “PAUSE”, my word for 2019 was “CLARITY”, and this year, I’m ready to rebuild!
Yes!! I’d love to talk about the real estate office I’m about to open because of WomanUp – Kinected Realty. I’m also opening a co-work space for amazing female entrepreneurs called Kinected Spaces.

Pull out your sassiest teacup, brew your favorite tea blend, snuggle into your coziest spot, and listen in on this hour of togetherness… This week’s topic is “Intentionally Choosing What You Bring With You”!
We talked about one of the first steps to take – reviewing your commitments. Here is the process we talked thru…
1: Do this when you are fresh and awake. Pour a cup of tea, your calendar, paper, and a pen.
2: Take a look at each area of your life and write down all of the commitments you have canceled in the last month.
These are the different buckets Debra shared: Work. Social. Self. Family.
Seeing it all written down can be quite an eye-opening experience and it may be overwhelming, so be mentally prepared.
3: Look at each one and decide whether it really brings you joy and adds value or it has become an energy/vision vampire in your life.
Do I love this?
Is it worth the amount of time I invest in it?
If the answer is yes, let’s add that to the “KEEP” list of commitments you will bring with you.
If the answer is no, let’s add it to the “DITCH” list of commitments you want to leave behind.
If you want to do a Core Values Exercise, you can download one here:
4: Review your list again.
Ask your spouse and older children do this for their commitments.
As a family, review those activities that require other member’s time to decide collectively what works.
Put all of the KEEP activities on a blank month calendar and test how it feels.
Does this feel like the ultimate month for me?
For the family?
Are we still over scheduled?
5: Revel in the freedom.
As you decide to eliminate the things that don’t bring you joy or value, you will start to feel lighter.
You don’t have to do more than this right now.
Next week we will share ideas on how to gently, yet firmly say NO and decline these events. We will also discuss how to be prepared to graciously receive declines to the invitations we have given.
Before we said au revoir – Molly led us in this beautiful grounding exercise!

With over 17 years of experience, a deep love for the industry, and extensive sales & negotiation expertise, Luisa is a California Real Estate professional/REALTOR® dedicated to helping her clients achieve their Real Estate goals and needs so they too can leave a Legacy.
After attending the first-ever WomanUP® Conference she was inspired to take a giant leap of faith and leave her comfortable salaried position to venture into entrepreneurship. She now has embraced the liberty of being her own boss and is spreading innovation and creativity in her leadership roles. As a soul-centered entrepreneur, she is immersed in philanthropic efforts to end homelessness, uplift humanity and empower individuals to become the best version of themselves.
Luisa is a mother to two sweet, big-hearted boys. She has been with her current husband for over 13 years and they were married in August 2017.
Besides spreading healing & positivity, some of her hobbies include photography, gemstone jewelry making, and all things mindfulness.
During our chat, we talk about feeling stuck in jobs that aren’t a fit, her passion for inspiring our mothers and grandmothers to fully live THEIR lives, and how her newest project, Meraki By Luisa is filling her soultank!
Without further ado, here’s Luisa.
I am successful when I am putting the needs of others as a priority whether it be my kids, husband or parents. I feel successful when I know I am helping others with their goals and dreams.
Transparent, spiritual and giving.
I have had friends & colleagues use the word ‘transparent’ to describe me and it resonates. You get what you see, I am ‘me’ all the time. I feel divinely guided and connected most of the time; being open and positive gives me strength. I was raised in poverty and when times are good monetarily, I like to help give back whenever I can. If times are tough, I put my heart and soul into my interactions with others and offer them love and light.
Don’t let people or situations take away your peace. Only you have control over what affects you and for how long. The sooner you move on from the toxic & negative situations, the better! My mom always tells me to just ‘let it slide’.
I lived in Japan for a little over 2 years and my oldest son was born there. Also, he/my oldest son, is blonde/albino. His dad and I are both Mexican.
Take the time to care for yourself. Exercise and meditate on a regular basis.
Getting up early and sticking to a morning routine. I love how I feel when I conquer my mornings but I have too much going on sometimes. I need to BECOME a morning person and get up before 5am! Lol.
I would ask Oprah if I could show her how to make tamales or something very Mexican in her kitchen so we can have fun, get to know each other better and have a hearty meal! I love her soulful conversations and admire her for her humbleness yet giving spirit. I would also want to share a meal and meditate with the Dalai Lama. The most significant and rewarding would be to help Mother Teresa feed the poor. I can only imagine the huge heart and empathy she had.
To me, Moxie is whatever puts spark, spunk or color into something.
I would be sitting on the deck of a bungalow in Bora Bora looking out to the blue tropical waters accompanied by both my parents and my boys would be swimming nearby. It’s going on my Vision Board this year!
Prosperity. My goal is to help as many families as possible create generational wealth through real estate or other financial venues. By helping out families with their prosperity, I will also be able to give back in big ways to charity and philanthropic causes such as Prosperity Homes. Prosperity Homes is a unique nonprofit model that connects the real estate and mortgage industry to building and transforming communities all around the world. It is membership and volunteer based, and it’s mission is to uplift women and children while serving with hearts wide open.
I moved Brokerages this week and am extremely excited to be a part of a family of soul-centered entrepreneurs. I am joining forces to support The Mortgage Phoenix Group & Legacy Real Estate with their 2020 vision for Prosperity Homes. We are launching three Chapters in Los Angeles, Orange County & the Inland Empire. I will be serving on the Board of Directors for the Inland Empire group and this 100% Philanthropic community will be spearheading humanitarian projects in Baja California, Mexico. Our goal is to raise funds to build more homes for indigenous families in Ensenada. We will also be collaborating to discover, create and provide solutions that can change the trajectory of the lives of many young kids that are being robbed of their childhood. The kids as young as 13 years old are foregoing education to pick the crops/food that arrives at our grocery stores. The Prosperity Homes community is looking for ways to build more sustainable homes and create systems that will enrich the lives of these families.
Our next build is scheduled for January 11th and fundraising efforts are year-round. For more information visit
