Lioness, if you are ready to set your moxie on fire – you are right where you are supposed to be. Grab your favorite beverage and let’s do this!
A few years ago, on a Valentine’s Day, the idea of writing a list of everything I LOVE popped into my mind – so I went with it.
I started to write it out and also encouraged you – my divine Lioness community to write a list, too!
As I reviewed my write list of everything I love, I realized – I wasn’t on the list.
What!? I preach and teach about self-love and self-care and self-confidence.
Why was I not on my mind?
So, I asked all of you about your lists and you said the same thing. I am not on mine either!
Slow down and think about this… let it soak into your soul.
When was the last time you put YOURSELF on your own THINGS I LOVE list?
This series of events inspired me to dig into why we don’t naturally do this…
Just like when we fall in love everything around us becomes more beautiful and appealing… falling in love with yourself is no exception!
So, today, take some time to write a list of all the things you LOVE ABOUT YOURSELF.
Here is a list of things other Lionesses have shared to inspire you:
Remember, each one of you is divinely unique. You have spectacular talents and abilities to offer the world. We are all here, in the words of Walt Whitman, “to contribute a verse”… It is time to go out and live your best life out loud, on purpose, and on your own terms.

This week’s affirmation is a moxielicious example of the type of fierce declaration each of us needs to create and repeat daily!
Are you ready? Read this one out loud…
I want an adventurous, meaningful life.
Lioness, go ahead and say it out loud again! This is YOUR one bold, beautiful life. I encourage you to start doing the things you love and enjoy without worrying about what others might think of you. Don’t let others stand in the way of your dreams. When you are ready to turn your dream into a goal to turn into a reality – you will succeed!
Create the life you imagine for yourself.
Lioness, now is the time, this is the place, and you are the one.
Go LIVE your best life OUT LOUD, on purpose, and on your own terms.

Wow! It is the final #Soultank Saturday of the year!
Are you ready to open, ignite, and nurture your mind, heart, and soul?
Grab your favorite beverage and let’s do this.
Lionesses – we are saying goodbye to another year and the end of a divine decade.
As a GenX’er – this was the decade I said farewell to my 30’s and welcomed my 40’s with open arms. The last ten years have been filled with divine successes, new friendships, and lots of laughter, failures – some with tears and others with smiles… Oh – there were the letting go moments and losses. Some I chose, others that broke my heart… I redefined and in a way – closed the chapter on what I thought motherhood would look for me, I opened my own business and celebrated 7 years this year. All in all – this past decade has been so good to me.
Lionesses, we are also getting ready to enter our very own ROARING 20’s! You know how much I love saying that, don’t you!?! I have been doing research on the 20’s and will be sharing more about that in future shows..
What I want to focus on today is what is happening right now for so many of us. There is so much talk about goals, goal setting, and getting your hustle on for the weeks and months ahead. These topics are taking over my feed and inbox… and even some cocktail hours. During our time together, I don’t want to talk about how I SET goals… rather I hope to encourage you with three of my favorite tips/truths to support you on your journey to achieving your goals. I want 2020 to be as smooth as possible and successful – in your very own way.
If we have been connected for a while, you know I love giving bonuses and goodies throughout the year and the holidays are no different. So, stick around until the end for a free gift and a roaring deal on a guide that will help engage, elevate, and empower yourself in 2020!
Okay, let’s get this party started!
You’ve heard it before – from me and many, many others – who you surround yourself with directly impacts your success and happiness.
Now, it’s time to get real. There are people in your world who will resent your fresh goals to start living healthier, build or grow your own brokerage, secure a new certification or broker’s license… you get the idea. Most of the time this is way more about how they feel about themselves, not you. Regardless, beware – these energy and vision vampires and their negative thoughts could sabotage your success. The solution, choose (who you share your time with) wisely.
Who are the people you want to support in the year ahead?
Start by writing or reviewing the list of people you with whom you want to build deeper connections. Add in others you may want to support in the year ahead. Now, make sure you are following them on social media. Review and authentically like, comment and share the posts that resonate with you. Make it a priority to connect with them – at least once a month.
Prioritize supporting them and celebrating their successes along the way.
Don’t forget to ask for what you need from them, too. Be specific. Don’t expect others to read your mind.

When you define and write out your goals down, you have the best of intentions. You set out to “make it happen” and as perfectly as possible. We all know that it does not always work out.
Remember to give yourself grace if you have lost track of a goal. It takes time, commitment and determination – and sometimes we fall short.
First, celebrate the fact that you actually wrote your goals down. You are already 42% more likely to achieve your goals when you write them down. Take a moment to do a happy dance – really shake off the shame – and then get up the next morning with passion and conviction to move FORWARD.
When you slow down to think about it, most goals are about seeking, reaching, stretching, and building towards something different than you already have. Maybe you are ready to make more money, build deeper relationships, or have your sights set on a bigger or smaller home.
Simply put, each goal you write is inspired by a desire to change.
The biggest gift I believe you can give yourself is to be content and grateful for what you have while you are working towards your goals, dreams, and visions. This will take focus, intention, and tenacity.
Consider creating a gratitude ritual in your life, whether it is a Gratitude Jar, a daily journal, or sprinkling gratitude challenges throughout the year! The download I shared in November will help you put this into practice.

These two exercises have helped me intentionally sprinkle in fun, learning, and focus for the last 11+ years.
The “My Moxie Life Commitments” worksheet will help you vision cast the new things you want to add into your life over the next 12 months. You will see everything from a new skill to those people you want to connect with and support more often. Those Lionesses!
The second worksheet set is designed to help you choose and bring your WORD for the year to life! It is no secret that I love using acronyms, so infusing this into my process made perfect sense. Once you have your word, this process helps you create a short sentence for each letter to support the overall feelings the word represents to you. It is simple and so incredibly effective.
As you bid 2019 farewell, remember – remember, I am here if you need a shot of sass, moxie and fire in your ear. If you have decided 2020 is the year you want to take it to 11… shoot me a note and let’s get a chat booked.
Lioness, I am praying you enjoy living your best life out loud, on purpose and on your own terms. As always – keep your eyes open for moments you can engage, elevate, and empower your world.
The post Goodbye 2019! appeared first on Debra Trappen.
This week’s affirmation is about graciously seeing, accepting and loving others around us….
Are you ready? Repeat after me:
I am worthy of being seen, accepted, and love.
Today, take time to look up and truly SEE someone in your world…
Too often we judge others for what they say, do, even what they are wearing – whether they are on a stage, at the desk next to us, or even out on a relaxed day of running errands/shopping!
PLEASE be conscious of your thoughts and words.
They are so powerful.
When we are judging others we are usually “talking to ourselves” or gossiping to a friend. This RARELY makes us feel good and, worse, makes us feel shameful after we have said it out loud.
CONSIDER THESE SCENARIOS:
If you are judging someone for what they are saying “from the stage” maybe your desire to be on stage is being sparked. Instead of critiquing their presentation style or words they chose – consider researching public speaking classes or opportunities for yourself.
If you are making fun of someone “acting inappropriately or childlike”… Maybe your inner child is BEGGING YOU to get out and have some fun of your own. Maybe it is is time to book a trip to Disneyland, hit the park to swing, or get a color book and spend some time coloring out of the lines.
If you are judging a woman for wearing her yoga pants while out shopping at the mall or sporting the tiara when picking her kiddos up from school – consider you may be battling your own self-image and self-confidence issues or your freak flag is dying to fly.
Step out and be wild – put on your sassiest PJ set, throw on a wig, and head to the market or movies. I dare you. ;)
Please give yourself the gift of grace if you do judge others and work towards reflecting on WHY you are doing it.
Stop worrying about what other people are saying, doing, or wearing.
Start SEEING them, ACCEPTING them, and LOVING them for who they are!
Remember, you have no idea what is happening in their lives or the lives of their loved ones.
Focus on being your best, blessed self!

Today’s #MoxieChat guest is Ruth Buezis.
Ruth is the founder of Awaken-Love. She is an engineer by trade and uncovered her calling later in life…. Which is what we are going to dig into today.
Ruth taught her first sex class to eight close friends in 2012 after experiencing transformation in her own marriage. From that small beginning, her message spread by word of mouth to impact marriages around the world. She now offers online Christian sex classes for wives, husbands and engaged couples.
She recently published her book, Awaken Love, an honest, vulnerable look at what it takes to create amazing sex. Ruth also spends time speaking and developing curriculum around sexuality. Ruth has been married to Jim for over 30 years and has 4 amazing grown daughters.
In her free time, you will find her snowboarding, gardening, fishing or building something new in her woodshop.
Ruth and I chat a lot about sex in this episode, so pop a pair of headphones on for this one, Lionesses. Tears were flowing when she shares her story and her personal awakening to how STUNNING she is – inside and out… and how she wants each one of us to experience this same feeling!
I won’t make you wait a second longer… here’s RUTH!
xxoo,

This week’s affirmation is about choosing JOY.
Are you ready? Repeat after me:
I choose JOY, right now!
Go ahead… shout it out again!
Choosing joy isn’t always easy. Some days it is downright difficult, other days we feel like we are floating on clouds, and many in between those can be rather milquetoast.
I put together 5 tips that help me choose joy… here we go.
1: Get more sleep.
One of my favorite Power Woman quotes is from Arianna Huffington. It goes like this:
“Sleep your way to the top.”
Too many believe success is defined by the number of hours you work, not the quality. It is time to wake up and listen to the many truths about the value of dedicating your precious time to get enough sleep as often as possible.
This is often easier said than done, especially if you have littles in the house or are starting and running your own business. Sleep is incredibly important and I encourage you to stop staying up so late, design a delicious evening self-care routine, and implement in at least a few nights a week. Let me know how it goes.
2: Don’t get caught up in other people’s unnecessary drama.
There isn’t much that can steal your joy more than getting caught up in OPD.
When others try to suck you into their crazy, put a smile on your face, take a deep breath, and say – no thank you. You don’t have to solve everyone’s problems. If you get pulled in – shake off the shame, give yourself grace, and walk away – right back into a place of JOY.
3: Choose to make every day special.
When you intentionally look for ways to make each day special, you will start to feel more patient, loving and kind. You don’t need to create a ticker-tape parade daily but think about ways to delight your loved ones. Consider adding in slices of cucumber and sprigs of mint to your ice water, serve lunch with tea in fancy cups with sandwiches cut into fingertip snack size, place post-it love notes around your home and in lunch bags, decorate your windows and slider doors with dry-erase markers… you get the idea!

4: Move Your Body
You’ve heard me sing it before…
Starting your day with exercise boosts your metabolism, gives you energy for the day, and releases endorphins – that (yes, you guessed it) help you choose joy!
Grab a sassy boa or your fave scarf, turn on your favorite song, and shake your toosh.
Ok, so dancing isn’t your thing?
Last year, I learned about and tried Shaking Meditation after seeing @yoga_girl on Instagram. Here is what she shared in that post:
“Shaking Meditation is an amazing way to release stress and tension, calm the mind, and settle nervousness. All mammals shake! You know how a dog shakes after they get up or when they are faced with a new situation? It’s a primal thing – they literally shake off old energy and tension as a way of resetting. Humans also shake but mainly when our fight or flight impulses are activated (especially during trauma or when we experience a threat to our system). If you are under pressure or feeling stress in your day-to-day life chances are you are living in the high adrenaline “fight or flight”-mode for big parts of the day… But you’re not shaking it out. Giving yourself 15 minutes to shake at the end of the day is a great way to transition from work to a calm evening at home. Shaking activates the parasympathetic nervous system and signals to the brain that it’s safe to relax and let go. It also activates our lymphatic system and helps the body rid itself of toxins – and it, most important of all, feels SO GOOD.”
When I keynote an event, I always do my best to stick around and listen to the other guest experts. At one event, a panelist on stage shared a wonderful, simple slice of advice. Don’t overthink it. Put on your shoes, open the front door, and walk outside for 7 minutes and then turn around and head home.
Voila!
5: Count your blessings.
You have multiple blessings in your life – right this very minute.
Being a servant leader is truly a blessing.
Waking up every single day to connect with passionate, thought-provoking connections is a blessing.
Having a roof over your head, food in your belly, money in your wallet, and likely a magical pocket-sized computer that goes everywhere with you telling you time, temperature, and keeps you connected to many other blessings in your life.
Lioness, you don’t need to count sheep to achieve that divine sleep we talked about in number one. Start counting your blessings every single day. It’s KEY to being joyful AND wholeheartedly successful.

I am successful when I see how the women I work with achieve their goals and showcase their confidence and brilliance.
Determined. Committed. Strategic.
My father never once treated me like a woman couldn’t achieve something. I believed I was equal.
I used to compete in ballroom dancing
Focus less on the goal and more on enjoying the moment
Controlling my thinking so that I can utilize the power of positive thinking more.
Sleep until 8 because I am not a morning person. Please hand me a cup of coffee and don’t speak to me for one hour. Then I want to get stuff done right away. Workout, cooking a great meal (it’s hard for me to eat out as I have a garlic allergy) followed by one-on-one time with my man, hanging out with my friends and of course mind-blowing intimacy! :D
Simplicity – the world is so busy and so noisy and I have a tendency to overcomplicate things.
It’s the juice baby that flows in our veins.
Happy Woman Happy World is available.
I am writing my second book. (YAY!)
