This week’s affirmation is about embracing confidence as our superpower.
Are you ready? Repeat after me:
Self-confidence is a superpower I strengthen every day.
This week, there are two things I want to focus on with you.
1: Believe that you matter in the lives of others.
When you believe in yourself, you start to see your actions in many different ways and from different vantage points.
I want to encourage you to take a moment to recognize how your efforts impact others in a positive way. This will help to remind you of how important you are to your community and boost your self-confidence to superhero levels!
Need help? Try this:
Hop onto LinkedIn or your FB Biz page and read the reviews and recommendations from others… click over to your “praise page” on your website where you host notes from your raving fans. Don’t have any of these sites or pages yet… Call your Mama, your bestie, your partner – and let them speak life into you right now. Sit there and listen to them.
Soak it in.
2: Take action towards your goals every single day.
Are you feeling filled with fear about failing or not accomplishing your goals?
Friend, I encourage you to let your fear fuel you UP and into action!
The progressive power of each success is so often underestimated. Society tells us we must want and seek instant gratification to be happy and tries to convince us that we can feel that way only when we accomplish the end goal. Stopping to relax and revel along the path is labeled lazy or a distraction from your legacy. We must hustle to be worthy. Womp womp.
Try this instead:
Choose a small activity you have been putting off – calling a potential new client referred to you or unpacking from your last business trip.
Now, do it. Yes, do it NOW. Want to push pause and check it off your list? Go for it… I will be here when you get back!
If you are feeling unmotivated, try the Mel Robbin’s 5-Second Rule that I shared about back in Moxie Affirmation 28 and 5-4-3-2-1 yourself to taking action.
Then what?
Choose another item on that “to do” list and do it right away or take it slowly and try another one tomorrow… and the next day…. and the next. The most important part of the process is to build up to the bigger, hairier, more audacious actions and goals as you go!
Building your self-confidence one step, one action at a time!
Now, go out and slay your fears and tame your to-do list, Lioness.

In today’s episode, I am talking with a fierce, fiery, fantastic Lioness – Kelly Resendez!
Kelly has more than 20 years of professional growth and success in the mortgage industry. A top-producing mortgage originator and loan consultant for the likes of Washington Mutual and Wells Fargo; she now serves as the Executive Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Paramount Partners Group, a residential mortgage lending company.
She is also the Founder of BigVoices Rise where she is a speaker and author.
Kelly focuses daily on creating more joy and becoming the best person she can be.
Are you ready to meet Kelly?
Let’s do this!
Success is impacting the lives of others by helping them increase joy regardless of any suffering they are going through.
Wise. Conscious. Alive.
(Listen in to our chat to hear WHY she chose each one…)
That learning is the most essential ingredient to live a full life.
That I live a completely balanced life.
Nothing…one core belief that I stay true to is that life happens for you.
Bringing my lunch.
I help them identify self-sabotage and overthinking patterns so they can break through and actualize their potential.
That you are fired up about life and feel alive every day you wake up.
I would have tea, do my morning rituals and write. Then spend the day with my kids doing something adventurous like deep sea fishing. I would be on the water or looking at the water.

This week’s affirmation is about taking the sacred time to celebrate your successes.
Are you ready? Repeat after me:
I will take time to recognize my achievements.
To learn from your successes and failures – you have to know what your successes look like! It helps you recognize when you are succeeding.
Let’s take a moment and talk about the concept of defining your own success.
Do you know what success means to YOU? In this season?
What it will LOOK like?
How will it make you FEEL?
Consider these two thoughts:
First, if you don’t define what it means to you, the definitions the world sets will become yours.
If you are not careful and focused on your own definition of success, the media’s idea of the perfect body, a praise-worthy title or position, the ultimate number in your bank account, etc will become your definition.
Second, you are able to truly support other people’s successes without feeling less than or in competition with them!
When you are fuzzy about your own success, everyone else’s achievements start to look like they “might be” or “should be” YOURS. This plants seed of comparison and competition inside of you.
To help you combat this, I encourage you to write out as many statements starting with these two prompts:
1: I am successful when ______________________.
2: I will feel successful when ______________________.
Now, let’s talk about failure.
Who was it that decided failure is a negative thing and took your power to see it as a positive?
A teacher? A parent? A friend?
We all have that person and most of us have been that person.
It really isn’t until recently that our society has started to jump on the EMBRACE FAILURES train.
Let’s face it – most of us need to do something more than once to get it right.
Helllooooooo!
Not doing something perfectly on the first try is PART OF LIFE.
I am betting it took you several tries before you learned to tie your shoes. What if you let this fundamental lesson elude you because you didn’t master “the bunny ears”, “magic fingers” or the “circle technique” the first time?
Looking at failure negatively sets you up for a life of many more negative moments than positive.
Remember, by definition, learning requires not knowing something. Start seeing your failures as beacons leading to a learning opportunity; signals that a new mentor is waiting for you; and experiences that get you closer to success!
Rejoice that when you are doing and reaching and dreaming – failure is fabulously inevitable.
Start seeing failure as God’s way of helping us gently see we are going the wrong way.
Lioness, let’s make it more FUN to fail… and always be focused on failing forward.

The post Do you do this, too? Let’s CELEBRATE! – Affirmation 43 appeared first on Debra Trappen.
This week’s affirmation is about being your truest self.
Are you ready? Repeat after me:
I will never influence the world by being exactly like it.
One of the biggest buzz words of this decade has been AUTHENTICITY.
Simply put – being your truest self.
However, the thought of letting the world see the REAL YOU can be paralyzing for so many of us. The media has managed to paint an unachievable picture of “the perfect life”. Those social media highlight reels send us into a tizzy!
So, how do we embrace our own authentic self?
Brené Brown says it like this: “Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we are supposed to be and embracing who we actually are.”
Choosing it means:
Here are some questions to ask yourself this week:
Enjoy this process, my friend.
I am here if you need me.

Today’s guest is Molly McKinley, CEO, of Intentionaliteas!
Molly has been on the show before, so you probably recognize her name. However, CEO was not her title last time we chatted on the show. SO MUCH has happened since then.
However, the core of who SHE is remains the same:
Molly is an expert at connecting the dots. A serial entrepreneur, public relations maven, and integrated marketing strategist with over 25 years of experience launching new products and brands. Her passion lies in finding hidden connections between people and experiences and helping to amplify those relationships to drive success. She counts Adobe, Adwerx, First, Happikins, IBM, Luckybug and Wake Radiology among her past projects. Her fluency in design, as well as technology, puts her in a sweet spot, but she remains driven by the insatiable desire to deliver remarkable customer experiences.
In 2017, she was named an Inman Influencer, was identified as the Top 100 Influencers in Real Estate, and was recently chosen to participate in the NC Idea Labs program.
During our chat, we talk about her cross over into full-time entrepreneur, the margin she has created to reconnect with what matters most to her, and we tease a bit about how we are cooking up some fun collaborative projects together!
During our chat, we review what has changed since her last visit to the Fire Up! Studio… including:
~ Leaving Corporate America
~ Starting to teach yoga to teens again

This week’s affirmation is about the power of your brilliant, bold, beautiful thoughts.
Are you ready? Repeat after me:
I always have more than enough.
Lioness, your mind is powerful.
Each decision you make, the opinions and images you have created about yourself, every action you take – it all starts in your brilliant, bold, beautiful mind.
A negative mindset will prevent you from being the very best you can be. You know this… that is why you are reading this, why you received these weekly affirmations, and why you lovingly share them with the people in your community.
This week, I want you to ask yourself a few questions:
1: Do I believe I have all I need – in this season?
2: Do I embrace an abundance mindset?
3: Am I thankful for what I have?
If you are shouting out a confident YES to each of these questions – celebrate!
Blessings are likely already freely flowing into and through you.
If you are not feeling it yet, shake off the shame and get started making a change.
Focus on your blessings.
Focus on what you HAVE, not what you don’t have.
Change your mindset.
Change your life.
Go after your week, Lioness.

Use this moxielicious code:
I feel and am successful when I see my clients go from feeling unsure or frustrated in their abilities to communicate and lead for themselves and others in their business to stepping to their greatness as a leader in every way that creates a positive impact for everyone they work with, both inside and outside of their business, by using an enhanced executive presence in their communication that shines out their abilities and influence that results in up-leveling their business brand, bottom line, and truly makes a difference in this world.
Powerful, Dynamic, and Impactful – I feel these three words describe me because I live and coach through the mantra of approaching life through Grace and Strength. I believe when you live in this way you naturally have the ability to attract and create powerful circumstances that can help to make a difference in other peoples lives.
The best advice I have ever received was from my Grandma. She told me to always bring your happiness with you everywhere you go.
I am a salsa dancer. I love to dance and on the dance floor is my happy place!
Don’t wait to step into your Greater Self…This time is now to do it!
I am a life long learner and like to find ways to make things more streamlined. I am always open to learning more things, especially when it comes to running my business. I actively work to create systems to help my business and life run more efficiently.
One of the biggest differences I make for my clients is to help them discover who their Greater Self is and how to actively live in that.
Moxie means bringing your fun and dynamic self to every moment in life.
Being back on a Dinsey cruise on Castaway Cay with my kids, watching them enjoying swimming in the beautiful blue ocean while I sit on the beach with my honey and my friends drinking a lovely cocktail with an umbrella in it, feeling the breeze on my face and the warm sun on my skin.

Grace – Life automatically turns out better when you bring grace to the table for others and most importantly for yourself.

This week’s affirmation is about finding your lane and rocking out your purpose in it!
Are you ready? Repeat after me:
I confidently choose my own lane
Lioness, I know you have a desire to define your best self and live your best life out loud, on purpose, and on your own terms. I am so grateful you are sharing this time with me today.
When I think about the term “finding your lane”, I connect it to “uncovering your purpose”. Have you uncovered yours? Let’s start there this week. I have 6 sassy questions to help guide you:
1: What conversations set my soul on fire?
2: What activities do I get passionately lost in… and lose track of time?
3: What is my unique talent? What does my community typically ask me for help doing, getting through, experiencing, etc?
4: If I could only share/teach one message to one group of people… what would my message be and who would those people be?
5: What comes SO NATURALLY to me that I believe everyone else “does it, too”?
6: What are my top 11 Core Values?
(If you haven’t defined your values yet, download my FREE core values exercise debratrappen.com/valuesexercise)
Now, don’t rush through these questions AND at the same tie – try not to spend too much time laboring over them!
Trust yourself.
Write down the answers that immediately come to mind.
Ultimately, confidently choosing your lane IS what living your life with purpose is helping you do… Defining and embracing your reason for being on the planet will allow you to truly focus on things that matter most… and ditch the senseless hustle created by those decisions you would have made that were out of alignment with your values and purpose.
One of the most exciting parts of this moxie-filled process is that you may not even realize how close you are to living your purpose OUT LOUD. So, before you go for a complete “reinvention”, stop and shift your paradigm when you look at what you are doing now. If you are not on the ideal career path, you may be able to find greater purpose through how you do what you do right now, experience significant meaning in and from it, and pour your greatness into your world as you look for your next step!
My dear Lioness, I am so excited for you and the journey you are embarking on…
Smile; you are about to give yourself a fantastic gift!

I am fired up to introduce you to, Natalie Pyles.
Natalie is a Producer and Sound Engineer in Salt Lake City, Utah who loves to create awesome podcasts!
She graduated from Brigham Young University. Natalie excelled in academics and still seeks to learn every day.
Natalie has been a volunteer teacher in schools in Guatemala and Mexico. She became a Middle School Spanish Teacher, which she loved until she hung up her dry-erase marker to focus on taking care of the sweetest kids ever. Both of her children were born needing multiple surgeries so managing their health care has been one of her great life challenges. She’s learned not to take health or family for granted.
Natalie loves to plan vacations (but not necessarily go on vacations,) play catch, read all the books, eat foods that contain butter, go hiking, take pictures of rainbows, make up alternative captions for picture books to make her kids laugh, clean in real life, and edit podcasts, which she considers cleaning in virtual life.
During this chat, Natalie and I talk about everything from the importance of friendship and faith to the advice from the amazing women in our lives!
For me to feel successful I have to get everything done on my list, and something extra, and stay calm during the process. It’s not the most enlightened answer, because it’s not always possible, but I’m really happy when I do that.
Friendship.
Steadiness.
Faith.
Listen in to hear WHY she chose these words. Natalie’s answers touched my soul!
Be the change. I have a reformer’s nature and a critical eye, so this advice has helped me turn those traits into a positive thing where I myself am doing what I want to see more of.
I worry a lot about efficiency, conservation, and logistics. I act easy going and keep these thoughts to myself because they would drive my friends and family crazy.
11 years ago would send me back to the year my first baby was born. I would definitely tell myself to learn how to delegate. Since I enjoy hard work I took on a lot of things and in hindsight I wish I would have “shared” more. Don’t miss what she shares during her rapid fire segment…
I want to get in the habit of taking the time to plan what I’m going to say before I speak so that I can be more articulate and also more kind.
This answer is going to give away my major love of religion, history and girl time: Mary, Joan of Arc and Eve.
I have an 8-year-old daughter who is both feisty and adorable. She’s an unstoppable force, a fighter, ambitious, creative, fun, and strong-willed. So, I’m currently raising moxie. She’s The Boss, in the best possible way, but we don’t use the word bossy in our house because she’s amazing.
My perfect day would be very productive. My husband and I would take turns picking the music and we would clean and organize our house, yard, and garage, and then watch a movie and cuddle with our kids.
Influence. My purpose this year is to learn how to mold, inspire and have a positive impact on the people in my world, rather than telling, reminding and prodding them.
Reach out to Natalie via e-mail at [email protected] to chat about podcast production!

This week’s affirmation is about being present – right here, right now..
Are you ready? Repeat after me:
I am awake and present in this moment.
Most of your current situation is indeed the result of your past actions, choices and experiences – the fabulous and “not so helpful” ones..
The great news is that your future is determined by how you act in the present moment. In other words, your past does not have to define you or your future. It only shows you the path you have already walked. You get to choose how you move forward.
You can choose to do yourself a great injustice and allow past failures to limit your possibility for a future filled with divine successes, or you can choose to focus on the strength and determination it took to persist even amidst the harsh and unfair circumstances you experienced.
Regardless, you choose.
Starting today – choose wisely, Lioness.
Learn from your past.
Choose to see future challenges as preparation to reach new levels of opportunity and growth.
Step up and courageously learn the lessons that prepare you as you move forward into your bright, bold future… a little wiser and more confident than yesterday!
